Pros: Thats all there is!

I enjoy going to this mueseum. There are so many different types of artwork to look at. As well the price of admission isnt much. You can sometimes go here for free on Sundays from 10 AM 1 PM which makes it even better. Its a nice place to go to when you have nothing to do. It gives you a better appreciation for all the artworks that are out there. I'd recommend going to this museum.

I can remember going to this museum when I was a kid. This is a great place. They have improved it so much. They have made much more fun for the kids so the kids have fun learning. Even my six year old loves going.

My mother, daughter and I adventured to this art museum on a Saturday afternoon. Unless you are a member it cost $4.50 per person. My daughter got in free; she's under 2.

The Art is shown inside an old victorian house that has been renovated and enlarged to show more art. It feels quite large inside compared to the outside view.

There is a section, that I like the best, California History Art. Painting depicting the Spainards, gold rush, continential railroad to today.

PROS: Learn a lot about our state through art
CONS: Modern stuff I can do without

The crocker is a tiny, sweet little museum that holds its own. Built in the old Crocker Mansion, this place has a range of artwork spanning centuries. This place mostly does traditional "art" stuff and then brings in new showcases every few months or so which always sound interesting but always seem to fail to draw me in. The crocker is something you do with people from out of town, but has potential with their showcase pieces to be that thing to do on a saturday afternoon. The parking situation is slightly thin, but isn't a huge nightmare.

If you're expecting something as grandiose and awe-inspiring as a trip to the MOMA or the Metropolitan, you'll be disappointed. However, if you go to the Crocker Art Museum expecting to find a small yet quality collection of a range of artistic styles and periods, then you won't leave here with a frown. Charming historical building, well-manicured premises, unbeatable value for a nice leisurely afternooon visit. Lovely permanent collections as well as ecclectic featured exhibits.
