how could i not add to the horror stories..DO NOT TRUST THEIR REPORTS...after asking the DR JAPHOUR to go over my report and brain scan again there were three things he missed and omitted in the report..he did not add them all at once but piece meal..I HAD TO KEEP CALLING TO ASK HIM TO ADD THE OTHER THINGS THAT WERE MISSING...having two other physicians that worked for him add their signature to the reports..spread the liability i suppose..how do i know that he missed things..well i had him sit down with me..(he may never do that again??)
(sugar would have melted in his mouth)
and read the scans in front of me on his monitor..(i am not a doc but know something about scans.of course he didnt know that when he went over them with me..
I do want to let everyone know they need to make sure they get another opinion after going here(better yet do not go)..i did..GUESS WHAT....he still MISSED SOMETHING ELSE EVEN AFTER THREE UPDATES TO HIS ORIGINAL REPORT!!..so in total HE MISSED 4 THINGS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE ORIGINAL REPORT!
just getting a copy of my scan to get it to another doc for a second opinion was an incredible joke!

In a city capable of having world class facilities, how did he get here!! send him back where he came from! go kick a soccer ball around..use your head in fact and then have someone read your BRAIN scan at your facility ..you will scare yourself! you may need to go somewhere else for a second opinion! i am GLAD I DID!
OH BTW...i mentioned all this to my referring physician who no longer refers to this facility after my feedback!

I'm grateful to everyone I met at the Women's Imaging Center at Medical Imaging. I had my mammogram, ultrasound and breast MRI there and words cannot express how amazing the team of technologists and doctors is. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and taken care of and this is so important when you are dealing with the possibility of breast cancer. They are warm and caring and the doctors are fast and thorough. I highly recommend this facility!

I have never, ever written a review about anything, usually because of time constraints. But despite a very extremely busy day, I have to share the WORST experience I've ever had!

I have been coming to Medical Imaging in Santa Monica for over 12 years. I originally used to visit Dr. Rita Perrella, who was the most kind, sensitive and caring doctor you could ever meet. She would actually sit down with me after each mammogram or MRI and go over the results with me. Then some doctor named BRADLEY JAPBOUR bought the place and it's been down hill ever since. Now it's just your typical assembly line where the almighty dollar outweighs patient care. You will never see a doctor unless they think you're at death's door. The technicians basically get the results from the doctor who is on another floor via phone. Then the technician, not the doctor gives you their results--not very comforting.

During a breast MRI, one male technician even asked me if I knew anything about breast implants because his girlfriend was thinking about getting them! I am so mad at myself that I didn't report the incident when it happened! I was just so taken aback at the time. They also have a new sections called the "woman's side" that has the tiniest lobby on earth. They've decorated it out in a gliltzy manner but it is absolutely uncomfortable. When you check in the front, they ask you for your birthdate while other patients are literally inches away from you! Not only is that so insensitive of the front desk staff to do that, that is such a security risk in this day and age of identity theft.

I have a strong history of breast cancer in my immediate family so these imaging exams are a serious business for me, and very stressful for obvious reasons. Today I called to make an appointment for a mammogram and it was a nightmare. I had never experienced anything like this in all the years I have been going there. First a woman answers the phone and transfers me to the "the woman's side." I was then transferred to the most RUDE and MANIC female receptionist I have ever spoken with in my life. She seemed abolutely clueless and continued to talk over me, as if she was reading from a script. She put me on hold literally, about 6 times in a total of 14 minutes!!! Every time I would ask her a simple question like, "can I make an appointment," she'd put me on hold for 2-3 minutes. Then she came back on the phone asked me for my birthdate and after I gave it to her, she put on hold for another 2-3 minutes. This went on for almost 15 minutes!

When I finally asked her why she had to put me on hold so many times, she became even more frantic and blamed in on other people who had nothing to do with the situation whatsoever. She stated that she shouldn't even have taken the call and how their computers were down. So she waited until AFTER putting me on hold for 15 minutes to tell me that the computers were down??! She sounded absolutely nuts! Then she proceded to tell me about my "normal" schedule of getting a mammogram every couple of years, I told her that I had been on the same ANNUAL schedule for the past 15 years per my doctors because of my family history. She continued to read from some script and talked right over me and then told me to stop talking and wait because she had to put me on hold yet again to read my report! Mind you, that was probably the second sentence I was even able to utter out of my mouth. Then she got back on the phone and began reading from a script again about where they were located and their nearest cross street even though I told her I had been coming there for over a decade! I felt like I was on some episode of Candid Camera or Punked!

At this point I still needed to make an appointment for an MRI. When I told her that, she became even more rattled and began to babble on about co-payments. I told her that I was aware of the co-payments as I had been coming there for a very long time. I then politely asked her if we could handle making the MRI appointment more efficiently since I had been on hold on and off so many times. And with absolutely NO warning, she immediately transferred me to some voice mail where I got a recording even though she was the scheduler!! By now, the thought of getting something as serious and sensitive as a mammogram and breast MRI at this place has left a bad taste in my mouth. And the thought of running into THAT woman in person frankly scared me! I took a deep breath and called back and thankfully got someone from another department and CANCELLED my appointment. If a woman like that is who they choose to trust to handle such sensitive and serious appointments, there is something seriously wrong with management. The majority of the front desk staff is insenstive. Most of the technicians both male and female are cold and unfriendly unless you go out of YOUR way to talk to them first.

I will NEVER return to this HORRIBLE place!

unlike the reviewer before me, i am a little more sympathetic. I was stuck in traffic on the 405 the day of my appointment( at 9:00) for a epidural injection because a big rig overturned across all lanes(everyone was late) yes people do get stuck and people do run behind. IT HAPPENS. It so happens when i called to tell them this they the person that answerd the phone said it was fine and they would still see me. I came from lancaster.....so people that complain like the reviewer before me SHOULD go else where and get crappy service instead of receptionist and techs that care. Thanks all.

August 2010....Do not go to this facility!!!!! Appointment was for my daughter. I specifically made this appt to have an open MRI. They put her in a closed MRI. The tech did not talk to her at any time, offer her any comfort while in the "coffin". The tech did not offer in any way to make the experience comfortable for her. Appt was for 8 am. The person who was to do the MRI did not arrive until 845am. They said he was late in traffic. The way the front desk handled it was obvious that was a lie, he was just late. Staff was fine but the outfit is not clean financially. I have insurance-- they asked me to pay upfront and then they would put the claim in. They did, and got paid. It is one month later after they got paid. I've called them, and they told me to expect to wait two month to receive payment. I was also asked to call back to remind them once more. Do you think they will pay me. As it stands they've received a double payment. I suggest Tower Saint John's which doesn't play this game

My doctor sent me to Medical Imaging for an MRI. I only have good things to say about this facility and the staff that helped me. A very nice doctor took time to personally meet with me and even went over my exam with me once I had finished. Thanks to all the staff and a special thanks to Dr Jabour.

It's nice to know that people still take the time to connect with the elderly. I took my mother to Medical Imaging Center on Wilshire Blvd. She was in so much pain when we arrived. Seeing her situation, the technologists helped her immediately. Her procedure in their surgery center was such a success, she is grateful for the disappearance of her back pain!

I have been a patient of Medical Imaging for years. I always get my mammograms there. I love the staff because they are gentle and caring, and the radiologists are very experienced. I am looking forward to the opening of their new Women's Imaging facility - it will be a great resource for the city of Santa Monica.

Medical Imaging Center of Southern California deserves a 10 out of 10. I was scared to begin with but I was looked after from the minute I walked into the waiting room until the time I left. The staff were caring, friendly and professional. The technologist Dahlia talked to me throughout the procedure, she was so patient and understanding. I can highly recommend this place.

My mother was referred here for a mri of the brain. I read the previous review and was a little unsure about taking her their,but what a pleasant surprise.The front office and the young lady that did her exam were both professional and pleaseant. My mom was not feeling well when we got their and the front desk asked her if she would like to lay down. How nice to offer, MOST facility's don't bother to ask or even notice if a patient is not feeling well. My mother and i both we're very pleased with our visit and i felt she was taken care of to our expectations.I will be telling her doctor how nice our visit was. Thank you Medical Imaging.

Horrible....horrible....horrible....First, poor scheduling.. I was there promptly at 8:00 am ( which is more than I can say for the young lady who unlocked the door and let me in ten minutes late!) only to be told I did not have an appointment. There were no apologizes (even after I had drank the required amount of fluid)..only a rather disinterested remark that "I didn't make the appointment". I was then asked to pay an amount that I knew far exceeded my obligation . I was advised the procedure would not be done if I did not pay the required amount. When I received my EOB indicating that just as I thought I overpaid them in excess of $200.00 and I am still trying to get my reimbursement. My appointment was three months ago. I sent a letter to the billing department and when I called to follow up and I was advised they don't have my letter and all mail is opened by another department. This person I spoke with had no idea where my letter was nor seemed to care that it wasn't in my file. I hope my experience does not mirror one below that notes a patient waited over a year for reimbursement. My doctor referred me to Medical Imaging and I am writing to her as well about my experience.

This place has the most poorly run billing department I have ever encountered. I had a mammogram in August 2008 and mistakenly paid the bill twice. I have been trying to get them to return the overpayment ever since. In addition they never sent me a report so i called and requested one. They sent the report that goes to the physician instead of the patient. This is a rather alarming document if you have never seen one and are used to the typical letter stating that your mammogram is normal, which mine was. It would have been difficult to tell from this letter. The offices and radiology rooms are dismal also. But, I would really just like my overpayment returned. I agree with the person who said one star is too many.

Reminds me how much friendlier than a hospital going to private practices is. This is a very friendly place and I want to thank the front office and the medical technicians for being so reassuring to me. Thanks and I would recommend this place for MRI exams.

Reminds me how much friendlier than a hospital going to private practices is. This is a very friendly place and I want to thank the front office and the medical technicians for being so reassuring to me. Thanks and I would recommend this place for MRI exams.

I had a study done at another center and my breast cancer was missed. A breast MRI was performed at this center and I was spared what could have been a much more serious problem by their discovering my cancer in a still early stage by using a fabulous technique. i am grateful for the breast MRI performed at Medical Imaging Center.

Wow, what a great place. As you walk in the place is beautiful, staff are charming, the place is busy, but I can see why doctors send their patients there. My doctor at UCLA and St Johns, a leader in his field, swears by Medical Imaging. I had a MRI of my neck and chest and they obviously have fantastic equipment, the radiologist herself went over my results with me personally. Cant believe some of the comments below - BEST PLACE for imaging in Los Angeles, felt like I was at an elegant spa!

I WAS a patient of "Rothman" last year, and was advised that I would need spinal X-rays, and given a "prescription" for this place. The staff was VERY RUDE, and almost seemed to have NO IDEA what they were doing. I was there for well over 1 1/2 hours waiting for the tech to get an image that was legible. After telling me they would bill my insurance, I received a letter in the mail with a $500+ invoice attached to it! After calling my insurance company and being told there was never a claim sent over by them for the procedure, I called Alicia and was told the claim was rejected and that I had to pay. They are perpetual liars, and seem to only be after the almighty $$$, but for such a poorly done job. I would never go here again, and I wll definitely tell all of my friends and family not to either.

The Front Desk for the Medical Imaging Center in Santa Monica were very rude and demanded upfront payment for medical services prior to the procedure being rendered. They claim this is the policy which was not advised to me when making the appointment over the phone. They also threaten to withhold my images to my primary doctor until I pay the balance. Is this typical practice for medical procedures?

I do not believe this common practice therefore it seem Medical Imaging Center has a cash flow problem to demand payment upfront. If I were given a bill or paperwork in regards to the procedure then this would not be a problem. The issue lies with how the front desk demand payment as if I was not going to pay with paprer work when in fact an insurance card was given to set the appointment.

AMAZING mammogram department. I have been a loyal patient of Dr. Perrella for years and would recomend her to anyone! Extremely efficient and intelligent staff who actually care about their patient's. These traits are hard to find in medical offices these days.

Two of my doctors (top faculty at UCLA) have complained about the quality of the radiologist reports from this facility. These two doctors were in separate practice from one another. In addition, I was amused by the previous review which detailed how Medical Imaging Center of Southern California "over-charges" clients. This happened to me several times. Even though my insurance paid the claims at 100%, I was told several times that this wasn't so. At the time, I was so ill, that I couldn't fight. The billing department, as a previous reviewer said, is almost chronically unwilling to give you _any_ indication of the refund process. I had to fight to get back the money that was rightfully owed to me.

A few years back, a friend of mine and I both saw one tech who found in "funny" that people were in pain while lying on the MRI table. Obviously, this made painful testing even worse.

Though I've had over 10 tests taken at this facility in 5 years, the quality-of-care has gotten worse and worse and I've since found another place in Beverly Hills that does a much better job.

BEST TO AVOID THIS PLACE.

I came to this place to get an MRI of my ankle. The girls at the front desk were very indifferent; not exactly rude, but hardly warm. I really found it offensive as to how many staff members were dressed. The girls had on very revealing shirts and short skirts. It hardly seemed like a professional environment, especially for a medical facility. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I felt very uncomfortable and will not return.
