I been to this restaurant during lunch buffet with my business colleague. it was a wonderful visit to indian restaurant since this was my first time trying indian food.If this what i ' ve been missing all these years,I never knew indian food was so flavorful or actually i guess i never gave it a chance until now. My indian friend suman and i went there for lunch, she kinda told me what was what but who knows, if i will remember all that, but it was all good.
Tikka masala excellent!
Goat meat was awesome!
Chilli chicken are the bomb! Especially with that garlic naan.
This place is definitely a must try, they are reasonably priced lunch buffet

WE ARE NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN!
My family has been going to this restaurant for a very long time. We decided to throw an engagement party there and that was a HUGE MISTAKE!! We were ensured by Raj, the owner that we would not have to worry about ANYTHING. Please read about everything that went wrong:
FOOD (seemed like they just took the leftovers from the afternoon event and used it for our party)
Rice was like mashed potatoes had to be remade
Naan was cold and ran out
Chicken murgh masala was supposed to be boneless, but wasn't
Ras malai was chewy, dry and undercooked
Kofta was uncooked
Paneer dish had very few pieces of paneer
No daal was served, which we had asked for in our agreement
Kheer was not served on time
Lassi was served at the end of dinner not during appetizers
Tea was not good at all - tasted like water
Coffee was not very good and it was served way too late
SERVICE
- the owner and his manager had loads of attitude to us and our guests the entire night
- we paid for a full, open bar and all they did was give us 6 bottles of alcohol and when they ran out there was not any more. They didn't provide any wine although they have a huge wine rack at the front door. They also only provided Bud Light and Tecate when there were Corona and Heineken in a cooler at the bar and they wouldn't serve it.
They were way too understaffed and we had to keep reminding them to clean tables

I have been to many different Indian places to eat, and this one far out paces all others within So-Cal hands down! Hey, I am no newbie to Indian cuisine and have been to many others but this is my fav place to take out of town guests, friends, and family.\r
I have been going to Peacock for 8 years, and just this past Christmas had them cater my family dinner, we wanted a break from nasty turkey and ham, and it was so great... everyone was so happy after the meal and even after they were full, they kept eating and picking at the food. Then, we all made a mad dash for the leftovers, it was so good... it was worth fighting for even leftovers! It was the must delicious Christmas dinner, and the best deal in town for a catered meal.\r
My family wanted something delicious, tasty, and a break from tradition, and this really hit the mark.\r
Service was superior.\r
Food was far superior than any other place that serves Indian cuisine.\r
Price was amazing!\r
In addtion, overall the food is just simply delicious everytime my hubby and I go there for dinner!\r
Mr. Raj is really a nice guy, Sashi who is our usual server is an angel, and all other staff are super.\r
The price is well worth the consistency of good food!\r
If anyone has had a negative experience with them, it may be the customer and not Peacock.... so, check your nasty attitude at the door and take time to chat with Mr. Raj... he is the coolest dude in the world and so kind and gracious. Try to smile and see what you may get back instead of being unfriendly when you pay Peacock a visit.... They are good people with grrreeeaaat food, and very good service!\r

VERY IMPRESSED!\r
\r
Having lived in India for a summer, I like to think I can spot the difference between good and bad Indian food. Saying that, I also usually stay far away from 'everything in one' restaurants such as Peacock garden and Indian seemed to be. However, the desperate need for delivery of Indian food led to my un-regrettable decision to order from this place.\r
\r
(FYI, when I am less lazy and more organized I will cook up some Indian because I usually make it just as good and more tuned to my tastes than many restaurants)\r
\r
So, as I was saying, this was totally worth ordering! We ordered like every type of naan possible, chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, saag paneer, and last but not least both meat and vegetarian samosas. All delicious and I can not wait to eat the leftovers today! I really recommend this place to anyone looking for good north Indian food in LA\r
\r
Plus, delivery is FREE and available online-so super easy.\r

peacock was a wonderful treat! I wish I could have taken a picture of my plate. I try to stay away from breads/starch/gluten type carbs so I happily paid more for a large serving of Saag. My plate was stacked with 5 saucy delicious Indian delights.
i've been to this place twice for dinner, and both times were okayyyyy.
it's a very dark and quiet place, and both times i was there, it wasn't busy at all.

the food is decently priced. the garlic naan is BOMB, and the curries are pretty good too. 3 stars because dont like my spinach curry as spinach-y, but grinded up more (if that makes sense?). we tried the chicken tikka masala of course, as well as this one coconut curry.

don't be deceived; the portions look really small, as they are brought out in this little bowl thing, but its definitely very filling. the veggie samoas are alrightttttt... does not compare to any thing

The food was delicious: all was rich, flavorful, and aromatic. The Saag was disappointing. The consistency was very runny, and the flavor was nothing to write home about.

My experience there was wonderful. The women servers are very nice, the food is delicious, but being that I went there hoping for some good Saag, I regret to say I was disappointed.

The unnamed and unidentified Masala (sauce) with Paneer was sweet and savory and very delicious. The Yogurt Curry with Califlower was delicious, though I think they fried the Califlower, which was unnecessary as the food may be Vegan, but does not necessarily guarantee a healthy and holistic meal.

I will most certainly be back to Peacock the next time I make it out to the westside.

Peacock garden

The waiters were nice and helpful.

The tables are way to close to each other, and you end up hearing too much of the conversations of other customers.

The food was ok. I've had better indian, and I wouldn't even count myself as a food snob. It just seemed like a lot of the dishes served were reheated and were not fresh. The Raita, for instance, was too watery in consistency and weak in taste.

Oh parking, beware!!! We have an GMC Acadia (big car) and we made the mistake of parking in their parking lot, . The parking structure was incredibly tight, and we almost scratched our car trying to get out. Thus, park somewhere else if you have a big car.

This was my first visit, and a very pleasant surprise. I was in a hurry to get a quick dinner for my kids, who wanted to eat Indian food, so i chose this somewhat randomly since it was close.

We didn't order much: chicken tikka, vegetable samosas, basmati rice, plain naan, and chapati bread. And the plain sounding "chicken soup", which was exceptionally good and anything but plain--the clear broth was zesty with ginger and fresh coriander leaf (aka cilantro), over the background flavors of ginger, onion, cumin seed and coriander seed, and contained little chunks of roasted chiken and carrots. As a soup feind, this was worth the visit alone.

The moderately seasoned chicken tikka was served on bed of sliced onions and green bell peppers that were sizzling on a hot iron plate. Although simple, this is my son's favorite dish and now this has become his favorite spot to get it.

The service was efficient and attentive (no mean feat for a Saturday night), and the atmosphere is nice enough for a neighborhood joint.

All in all, this was a nice little find and worth repeat visits to explore more of their menu.

That's it all i wnted to prefer in diamon bar

Hi My name is Laura ..........Okay so I really like Indian food. I guess I eat it pretty often than your typical non-Indian person. I found out about peacock garden from my new laptap that I received from my aunt as a gift. And the first thing i want to say is what and AWESOME find!! I loved the food!i wnt to share my experience with you guys
Here is what we got:

Vegetable samosa ($4) - it came with two pieces which was perfect for my mom and me. Exactly what i was hoping it would taste like.

lamb saag (10.95) - SOOOO GOOD! Creamy spinach with chunks of tender lamb. It is essentially paneer saag but instead of the cheese you get meat. I would definitely recommend this for future goers.

Tamota soup:tomato soup midly spiced flavoured with cream and ajawn seeds awesome

chicken tiki masala (10.95) - A classic dish. It was just the right amount of creaminess, curry, sweetness.

garlic naan (2.95) - Of all of the naan I've ever tried their naan is the BEST! It is very generous with the garlic and other seasonings. It wasn't too thick or thin.

I started to crave their food again after writing this. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes!!!!

*Parking* They have a tiny parking lot infront of their restaurant. The drive way is narrow and very steep so i would be careful getting in and out.

Staff and all treating very friendly..........thank you

Seriously, this place is awesome! They have lunch buffet on the weekends and delicious Indian food ESPECIALLY my faves: palak paneer, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. :D It makes me happy coming here every time and the manager Shashi is always so wonderful and welcoming to me. She says I'm one of her favorites. Hehe I try to go at least once a month with my fam bc ITS THAT GOOD! In fact, I just finished eating din there. ;)

Been to this restaurant last week. Liked everything about the experience I had. Starting from friendly service to mouth watering food and the right price it is a long list. But the best is food. Loved the chill chicken and garlic naan combination, can't have enough of it, and it is a part of buffet only 9 dollars. Can't believe it.

My daughter and friends came over from FLorida and crave for Indian Food. This is the best place to recommend. They love the food especially the sizzling tandoori chicken. They opt to come back soon and dine at Peacock Gardens again. We always do as the service is quick and superb. Staff are very professional!!\r

Oh my, what a place- the food is like such heaven! It is the best food in the world and in the area as well- beats out all of the others! Yummy! The food makes your mouth sing and dance, The pricing is super, the service is far superior than any other place I have eaten at! The owner treats everyone like an old family friend, he is very nice super friendly and so is his staff.\r
You are treated the way any person should be treated at an eating establishment, they are very on top of thier service to people. You will get the royal treatment, I have been going there for years- just booked a banquest for my husband and was given great rates and great deal! We are Chinese but love this place- totally addicting- we take all friends and family to Peacock- Raj is the owner, and his main server is Sashi- she is great and very attentive- the place is small but always busy, the food is like magic on a plate. The prices are great and the portions are out of control (large servings for such a good price)!\r
We have gone to all of the Indian establishments in the area but this place wins hands down. Why you ask? Well, Food, Service, Pricing, and the owner! He is very personable! You cant go wrong! Yeah baybee the food is indeed amazing and they also provide ""to go"" food!\r

The workers do a great job at serving you and frequently asking you if everything is great or if we need anything on the table! I especially love the owner Raj he's very friendly and likes to talk to customers and get to know each and everyone! which I really like that about him! So I really suggest this restaurant to anyone who is coming to eat indian restaurant! \r

.

this restaurant is great! I love their garlic naan! and especially there mutter paneer! great customer service! The owner Raj is very nice and respectful towards customers! when me and my family come here to reserve parties or just to go eat in the evening Raj (the owner) and Shashi who is the manager handle it very well! I love how they take care of the parties whenever I book it here! everything is under there control. I'm in the United States Navy and I'm stationed in San Diego, Ca but whenever I come to Orange County I have to stop by at this place ALL THE TIME!! I LOVE IT!\r

IT WAS MY FIRST TIME TRYING INDIAN FOOD.... SO THE OWNER WAS SOO NICE, HE CAME TO OUR TABLE AND INTRODUCED THE MENU TO US.... THE DISHES HE SUGGESTED WERE MOUTH WATERING.... THE FOOD WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. EVER SINCE DEC OF 2010, WE HAVE BEEN BACK 3 TIMES, THE PRICES ARE VERY AFFORDABLE YOU CAN EVEN HAVE A GLASS OR TWO OF WINE AND NOT BREAK YOUR POCKET ;) ... I RECOMEND ALL TO COME TRY PEACOCK GARDEN ... YOU WILL LOVE IT!!

This place has delicious food. Always flavorful and fresh. The service is also excellent- the people are friendly and inviting. It's a fun place to go for lunch buffet (all you can eat for a good price/value) but dinner is nice also.

Another great indian restaurant for reasonable prices. It also has an adjacent banquet hall for parties. I would recommend the lunch buffet and its all you can eat. Well worth it.

Business Response:

thanks for your kind words
.

I swear that this bad review is warranted. I LOVE Indian food, it's absolutely delicious! Peacock Gardens has increased their prices since the last year and the food quality has dimmed. Their Mutar Paneer and Makhni Chicken tastes more like a full can of tomato sauce with too much salt. As of 2006 - the buffet has risen from $7.95 a person to $10.95 a person. They say because they have added champagne to the menu. Well, what if I just drink water with my meal?? I still have to pay extra!!!\r
\r
The owner, his name is Raju, was overtly rude because we weren't used to the new taste of their food. So, we asked him questions about it. Like- if the recipes have changed. There was barely anybody in the restaurant, so we know no customers overheard us. Yet, he became irate and told us to ""show some manners towards the cooks."" All we did was ask about the recipe, and now we have no manners?!?\r
\r
All in all, worst dinner experience of our lives!

Pros: The staff was pleasent, unlike the owner.

Cons: I have never met an owner that desperately wanted to shun away his customers!! He left a bad taste on all of our mouths.
