1 Stars: Elan Esprit Preschool needs improvement in their way of handling child (by adch j.)

My exp with Elan is that the teacher Cynthia is not as loving as the teacher Raj. She looses her patience very easily and dont work hard on any kid's bad behavior. She gets frustrated fast and expects small kids to obey her fast. She has to understand the cause of bad behavior in kids and make them understand in a polite manner. She just give attention to the older kids and the new kids in their class hardly gets any attention which I think is very crucial for new kids when they are very new to such environment. Preschool kids who are too young to understand what consequences their actions will have needs a very loving and polite way of teaching. Overall I noticed the preschool teachers lacks enthusiam and energy. You will always find some of the teachers are very dull and ignoring you when u leave your kids to the school.

1 Stars: Elan Esprit Preschool is Horrible! (by h r.)

The only reason why I gave one star is because I had to put something. I think this preschool is nowhere near what a preschool should be. First, Candy the Director smokes like a chimney and the bus they use for fieldtrips reeks of smoke. Second, the teachers are constantly yelling at the children when they are with them, and the rest of the time they are sneaking off to Starbucks or getting food. I don't understand how they can hire teachers without having any ECE units or deny employment to other people just because they don't believe in Scientology. Someone should take a tour of this school just to get a good laugh. Parents: NEVER bring your children to this school! There are much better schools that are probably cheaper and have a better environment for your child!

4 Stars: I might even give them five stars... (by Kimi d.)

My son attended this preschool in 1999 and 2000 and the curriculum was perfect for him. He was only 3 but ready to learn to read and thrived on the morning academics which were simple but effective. Candy, the director, keeps the kids extroverted and busy. That summer they went on bike rides, went hiking, creek-walking, rope-climbing (a preschool version where a rope is trailed down a slope and they use it to help pull themselves up). They also went to Happy Hollow and a variety of restaurants and on other excursions. My son loved reading and also learned to print and learned some basic math. He made great friends and had a wonderful time. The only reason I gave four instead of five stars is that sometimes I felt there was so much activity maybe there wasn't enough personal interaction with the adults in terms of helping them learn social skills - but that's just my consideration as my son thought had fun and learned a lot, too, both academically and physically. One nice thing is that they have a large yard with lots of bikes around. The kids were just climbing on and eventually teaching themselves to ride two-wheelers (and they were always watched to make sure they wore helmets). Once they learned to ride, Candy would reward them by letting them attend "two-wheeler only" bike trips. Very nice school with a good, healthy philosophy and caring staff.
