When I bought my house the disclosure package said the chimney moved when leaned on so it needed a steel reinforcement to be inserted the length of the chimney. There was a quote from Dean Designs in it. 5 years later I finally got around to doing the work and called Dean. They had the quote on record, updated and took care of all the permitting with the city. They even installed a couple smoke detectors way up high near the cathedral ceiling to bring it up to code. In and out in 2 days with no mess. Total bill was $2900 which was a lot better than the Chim chimney quote (who said I'd need a new chimney) for $17K!!
