Plaza Pet Clinic

I've used Dr. Cartwright and Plaza Pet Clinic for about 8 years now for several of my pets, both cats and dogs. They have always given exceptional care and no nonsense advice.
I've used them for annual health care, shots, and have also had pets in critical care and loss. Dr. Cartwright and Denise are both very reliable and provide exceptional service.
I highly recommend them to take care of any of your pets!

I went to see Dr. Cartwright when our 9 week-old Siberian Husky Mack became ill with Parvo (deadly disease especially for puppies). Dr. Cartwright took Mack under his care, although he didn't guarantee that Mack would get better, he gave Mack the best care a parent could ask for. Mack was in Plaza Pet Clinic for three days the longest three days of our lives. Dr. Cartwright gave Mack 1 on 1 care, he gave us peace of mind that Mack is receiving the best care we could get him. Today Mack is almost 6 months old and healthier and happier then ever. If you love your pet(s) I highly recommend the Plaza Pet Clinic . Dr. Cartwright is a vet that truly cares.

We started to use Dr. Cartwright at Plaza Pet Clinic in Glendale over a year and a half ago when our 14 year old cat, Tatiana, developed Hyperthyroidism. Being 14 years old, partially blind and deaf she is extremely difficult to pick up and handle even for her parents, but she has never even tried to put up a fight with Dr. Cartwright, "The Cat Whisperer". He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and offered several courses of treatment for her to include radiation therapy. Due to her age and the substantial cost of radiation treatment we chose the pill option which worked for about six months until she became wise to the hidden pill inside of her treats and started to spit them out. When we asked the Dr. for an alternative to the pills he contacted his pharmaceutical rep and was able to have her medication reformulated into a liquid form in less than a week for a very reasonable price. He even thought about Tatiana and asked them to make it in "chicken" flavor so she would take the medication in drop form easier. This treatment worked for about 2 months until she started getting very aggressive when we had to administer. It broke our hearts every time we had to chase her around the house to administer, so we went back to Dr. Cartwright with the dreaded question "Do we euthanize or watch her slowly die from her disease?" our main concern being not keeping her alive solely for our feelings. Dr. Cartwright explained the "domino" effect on her body (heart mummer, liver enzymes, etc..) and offered to call his rep once again and have her medication reformulated into a salve form which would be administered on the inside of her ear. He seems to be informed on the latest treatment options. Dr. Cartwright has been the most informative, patient and understanding veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. From the moment we started to see him he showed a genuine interest in making her as comfortable as possible. He explains every procedure, diagnosis and treatment options to a "T" and makes it easy to understand. Even when her parents fall apart over her condition he always manages to put our hearts at ease. We have grown to trust his word and professional diagnosis 100% weather it is good or bad. Dr. Cartwright has always been willing to answer any questions over the phone even if it is concerning our other cat, Serge, or our new puppy Tao. His office is always immaculate and the Staff there are extremely personable and professional. Denise always makes us feel welcome when we walk in and we have never had to wait to very long to see the Doctor and have never had an issue with seeing him on short notice, sometimes as little as 1 hour. He has excellent hours for those who work 9 to 5 and he is even open on Saturdays. We have always felt like the prices were very reasonable considering the extremely high quality level of service. I Would definitely recommend Dr. Cartwright at Plaza Pet Clinic to anyone looking for an honest, caring and patient Veterinarian and would never use any other Vet for my pets.

I have been bringing my two cats to Dr. Cartwright for the last 13 years. He always invites his patients' owners to come into the examining room with their pets. Dr. Cartwright always explains everything to me very clearly--what he's checking for, the prognosis and what needs to be done. He doesn't get emotional about anything concerning the pets. At first it made him seem aloof, but in time I've come to depend on this steady professionalism and to
respect it and be calmed by it. He makes his patient owners feel like they are part of their pet's health team, and it is much appreaicated. Dr. Cartwright seems to me to be aware of all of the latest procedures and innovations in veterinary medicine, because he refers to them and explains them when examining my kitties. Plaza Pet Clinic is a one man operation. When the doctor and his wife Denise (she's also the office manager) are away at a conference or on vacation, veterinarian substitutes takes over, so far all thorough and professional. There are also several excellent full time vet techs. Post operative care is first rate. The clinic is very clean and orderly. However, or because of this, the clinic's prices are mainstream. Do not expect any discounts in prices for medicines or lab procedures. I sometimes get vaccinations at vacinnation clinics.

Albert Cartwright is the main vet here, he has cared for my dog Piggy for several years now. The last visit was an emergency surgery after two other dogs attacked him on a Saturday morning when the other pet hospitals in town were closed. Dr. Cartwright saw him right away, sewed him up and billed very fairly. I would recommend him highly.
