They poured 7 wines and all were excellent. Usually wineries will excel at one or two wines and rest will only be okay. Here every one was terrific. Beautiful setting and young, friendly staff completed a wonderful visit. Third time touring and tasting here.

Pros: great line up of wines
Cons: popular on weekends
I was there a month ago. It was a disappointed experience. Their staff were armatures just pouring wines to the glasses. A bunch of young crowds rushing to the tasting table. It was rather being in a no-class, cater-to-air-heads bar in Hollywood. Once going wineries was a completely different experience. You could expect finding a peaceful place and time and getting know their wines by asking questions to the knowledgeable & friendly staff. I feel sorry for people who go there now. They think they are experiencing a "winery" because that's their standard. If you have ever been to a winery before Sideways released, don't go.

Pros: closer to Santa Barbara
Cons: crowded, no friendly staff, bad organization
On my visits to Santa Ynez Valley I always like to stop by this winery, it is a pleasant place to visit. I enjoy the wine testing and the free tours of the vineyards. The tour guide provides you with so much interesting information about their wines and the processing system. They have an ample selection of wine and they also sale dipping oils. The staff is very friendly. Parking has never been an issue for me, but make sure you call before you visit, sometimes they close for privet parties.

If you want to experience a busy, mainstream place, go there. Just don't expect a "family vineyard" atmosphere there. We went there Sat early afternoon - place had tons of people, vine tasting was more like having a burger at McD. The place is done really nice, though - good for pictures, weddings, etc.

Pros: Location, nicely done and furnished.
Cons: Crowded, service pours wine as if it was a McD burger.
The Gainey Winery is close to Solvang, California. Located just off Highway 246, very close to Highway 154, you will find it nestled in between the pampered vineyards. The parking lot is fairly large, but not ample. There is a terrific wine tasting room, again not super large, but more of a cozy feeling. The staff are attentive and ready to answer your questions about their wine selection. This area of Santa Barbara County was featured in the film "Sideways".
We've been invited to a couple of weddings here as well. There is a piecturesque knoll which is perfect for couples tying the knot!
PROS: Popular winery
CONS: parking lot is a little small when there is a large party.
