Walking into TGI's is like walking into a restaurant in Japan. We ate there from the time they opened, and were always excited by the quality of the food, the friendly, attentive service, and the special, unique tidbits that sometimes appeared at the table, gratis. Now, the restaurant has gotten popular, and things have changed somewhat. We're sorry, and we've moved on.

A friend and I went here only after finding that our favorite sushi place (Kazoo Sushi Boat) around the corner was closed. This is a very tight and small place, seating is very limited. I wasn't impressed by the portions or price but others seem to feel this was a good place from other reviews I've read. I won't go back, too many other places that have a better deal and atmosphere.

I came here for lunch and their rolls were ok. I wasn't really impress with this place.
I probably wouldn't come back.
Their service was good.

What else could you want from a Sushi place? Great service...they have that too. Walking in the door you feel welcomed. It is small and from the appearance you might question how good it really is but just wait. You are in for a treat. They have unique rolls, traditional roles, the largest Bento Boxes I have ever had but they set the standard with their freshness. Don't miss this one or you will spend time and money on second rate sushi. Only one place better than this and that is in Santa Cruz, Mobo Sushi. After searching the entire Bay Area I am glad I found the two best places.

TGIs is in a tiny strip mall on Hamilton (cross Winchester) that you could easily miss, but that would be sad if you did because the sushi is great. The place is small, so you have to go a bit early for lunch, especially if you go with a group. Sitting at the counter is also fun. Prices are reasonable for the high quality sushi -- lots of interesting and tasty rolls named after people and local landmarks.
