Coast Philatelics is one of the best stamp shops on the West Coast, if not the very best. Bob and Barbara maintain a deep stock of world and US stamps, covering every country from the classics up to the 1990s, with a few more recent. They have their huge regular stamp stock, priced fairly competitively, many boxes and books of marked-down bargains, and thousands of stamps at ten cents each, organized by country or topic. Their cover stock is quite good, with thousands of covers (US and foreign) priced according to, but below, the market, and additional boxes of covers at $1 each, with some at 50 cents and others at 25 cents. Last time I stopped by, they even had some modern foreign covers at 10 cents. They also have collections, albums and some supplements, mounts, and other accessories. I have been coming to their shop whenever I could manage (I live 50 miles away) for several years now, and I have managed to stop by about six times in the past four months. My only regret is that I don't have more occasions to visit them. To help friends, I have brought in some stamps to sell a few times, and Bob pays quite reasonable prices for anything he does not already have in stock. I have seen him buy collections, and he is carefully honest in pricing them. Coast Philatelics is open most weeks from Tuesday through Saturday, 11 to 5 on weekdays and 10 to 4 on Saturday. They go to several shows out of town each year, so pick up their calendar when you visit them, to see when they will be there.
