Don't get me wrong...they have a great product but I felt like I had entered a snobby boutique where I was judged as to my worthiness to own such a mattress (do I have the dough to afford one?) It's very off putting. My salesperson seemed very distant and seemed to have decided in advance that I was not a serious customer. I left and went over to Design Within Reach and bought a comparable, great mattress for about the same price. Cheap; NO.
It's mattresses you're selling; not fashion! Get over yourselves and come down to earth.

Fantastic quality materials. Rather nice staff.
Do you think the slats are individually configured and set up to suit the actual customer's anatomy? No, apparently it's about the same for men, and slightly different for women. I got my partner's setup by error and he mine - causing me a painful spinal subluxation from just the first night on the mattress. No one told us when we bought an eastern King that we could have one side softer and one side harder, so we compromised with an overal mattress too hard for me. After fixing the slat problem somewhat, I still woke up about 10 times a night once the springs were changed to the softer version. We were told that these tough German springs took at least 30 days of contact with your tender spine to loosen them up to where they were comfortable. (Why can't the factory break them in?) READ all the fine print in every bit of the paperwork before you buy! If you want a refund in the 60 day trial period you must take action to get satisfaction - that means you probably order a different set of coils and also try them for 30 days. But the second set took 3 weeks to arrive at the warehouse where we had to pick them up 2 hrs from home! Not having time to break in both sets (including the long delay), we were very lucky to "get out money back" when requested before the 60 days were up. We paid $3400 for one pillow, one mattress cover and the king bed. Allowing for the pillow and cover which weren't returnable, they still deducted $550 when they gave us our refund. Overall, for a sensitive person who likes a cushioned sleep, this sleep experience was brutal. We subsequently hired a local company to make us a quality bed with normal springs and no slats and it felt good from the very first night's sleep.
It's a very high quality product and it probably works well for some people, but if we had known what size financial risk it was to try it out, we never would have ordered it. It seems very risky to assume that everyone is going to be comfortable with slat systems, or that people are going to be able to tough out the long painful period of loosening up the springs.

European Sleepworks is the worst mattress and the worst customer service experience that I've ever had. The experience was so awful, it's hard to know where to start!

The mattress we received felt nothing like the bed in the showroom. Our bed was so painful that every morning, we woke up with our upper bodies' in tremendous pain, like we had just been in a boxing match for eight hours! And this from a mattress that costs about twice as much as a deluxe Sealy or Simmons....

After a few weeks of trying---including adjusting the slat system precisely according to how their Manager told us---we finally gave up and went back to sleeping on our old bed (btw, it should be mentioned that one of the many things that European Sleepworks won't do, unlike pretty much every other mattress store, is take away your old mattress. Of course, in our case, Thank Goodness! ) When we first called to ask about this, the salesperson told us that this happens frequently but that often, after time, the bed will break-in and soften up. This never happened for us. It actually felt worse and worse as time progressed.

As soon as I told them we were having problems, their attitude entirely changed. I'd call them, they'd tell me they needed to look into it, and would call me back. They never once returned my call. Finally, I asked about returning it for a refund, THEN they told me their would be a $200 re-stocking fee! They never mentioned this at the time of purchase. The owner, Kay, told me that they aren't required to tell me verbally, it was in the fine-print of my contract, and it was my responsibility to have read it before buying. However unethical that already is, it get's even better: I checked my contract carefully and there doesn't appear to be any such clause in it! There's MUCH more to the story, too....

Bottom line, European Sleepworks is the worst mattress and the worst customer service I've ever experienced for any product, ever. Beware!

I had visited almost 6 vendors before finally making my purchse here for the simple reason that I found what I was looking for here. They have a great selection of unique mattresses at a little high prices but trust me this place well deserves it.

PROS: Great selection of unique European style mattresses

European Sleep Works sells different premium European style mattress systems. Their mattresses are supposedly more durable and provide a more healthful sleep. the firmness can be selected on each mattress and the unique slat system is adjustable.
The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. They will help you find the right mattresses for you. They deliver quite far away. The prices for the mattresses are higher than what you would spend on a regular set. They also sell unique bed frames to go with the mattresses.

PROS: Very comfortable mattress systems
CONS: pricy

Durable bed that is very adjustable. I have had my European Sleep Works bed for one and a half years and I love it. At first I needed to mess with the slats a little bit, but once they are adjusted to fit your body, they are amazingly comfortable.

I was skeptical when my wife suggested looking at European Sleep Works for our bed. It was recommended by a family friend, and we were in the area, so we decided to give it a go. We were pleasantly suprised. The people there aren't so
