Terrific food, service and atmosphere: local hispanics and visitors.
The children love the big tropical fish tank.
We always bring guests to have at least one meal at Kaleinte. Thbey are always anazed at the quality of the folod and its authenticity.

I was missing So. Cal. Mexican food until I found Kaliente which is much better. Everything on the menu is so good that our family likes to split several dishes so we can enjoy them all. The ingredients are fresh, high quality, the flavor combinations unique and superb! Our favorites are the plantanos, pupusas (very fresh & hearty), Taco Salad: roasted vegetables, large, fresh & hearty, the Tropical Salad: shrimp, mango, papaya, coconut and a cilantro dressing that brings all the flavors together marvelously. I was surprised by how well all these flavors melded - fabulous!

We thought we had to drive to the mission to get good papusas. We were wrong. When we stumbled upon this restaurant, we took a chance and ordered several bean and cheese papusas. These were just like the ones we used to gorge on in the mission. Plus we don't have to cross a bridge to get them. The price is right at $1.50 each. It's nice that my kid likes them too. That means we get to eat them more often.

I was hesistant to try "Salvadorian" food but once I was there the wonderful staff was more than happy to explain cusine and make recommendations. Once I received my meal, it tasted wonderful. The atmosphere is really nice too. I would definetly recommend to anyone looking for a new experience.
