Creative Hands

I was recommended to this store when I worked in Redwood City and they were at their old location. I have been to other stores before and since and cannot think of any store I'd rather be at when I am planning a new project. I am an beginner/intermediate knitter and I am so grateful for all the help I receive from the wonderfully knowledgeable women who work there. They are so generous with their time and the communal knitting table is a blessing when you need to work something out - there always seems to be someone there willing to help me whether it is a staff member or another knitter. They are pricier than a hobby store(but have better prices than other like style yarn boutiques) and that is because they carry quality yarns. At Creative Hands you will find gorgeous merinos, delicious cashmere, to die for hand painted yarns and an all around excellent selection of yarns books, needles and notions. Also, if you spend more than $200 a year on yarn it is worthwhile to join their one year membership which gives you 10% pretty much everything they carry and special access to sale events.

When I wanted to learn how to knit, I was told to come here. I highly recommend their beginning knitter's class -- the teacher is oh so patient, friendly, and just plain nice. It's two hours long, $20, and set me up nicely to learn the knit and perl stitches. After that, I was able to run with my projects.

I tried to get some basic instruction from the staff at the store (before I took the class) and got critiqued for my technique (I was a true beginner at the time). I also thought she was impatient.They have a huge selection of quality yarns.

The yarns can be pricey but you'll get what you pay for.

I absolutely love this place! they are so helpful and they have so many things to choose from. They also make up scarves, sweaters, etc. so you can see what they look like. they just moved to a new location in Belmont and it is bigger and has more space for the classes that they give. They always have someone there to help you through a problem and are so willing to help. They are all very nice people and have quality yarns.

I've been a customer for over five years. I've also taken several evening classes at Creative Hands. Not only does the shop have beautiful materials, the staff is knowledgable and willing to help. I love this shop!

I shop most often at Creative Hands. Their selection is good, the staff is helpful and the prices are pretty good. I like to look at their "oddball basket" where they have their sale yarns and I have found quite a few finds. They are moving in early April to a larger store in Belmont and I am looking forward to it.

This is the place I go if I need knitting supplies. I have loved the patterns and the yarn. It's not exactly the bargain place to go for yarns, but Michael's won't let you knit in their store and give you the individualized attention you'll get here. If you're a beginner like me, they will set you up with the yarn and pattern you need pretty painlessly.
