this story is absolutely amazing with the amount of products they have. They have games of every sort that you will ever need, i can spend hours browsing in the store and never get tired.

PROS: wonderful place to spend the afternoon looking for that perfect game
CONS: the prices could be a little lower

You wonder how they put so much stuff into such a small space. Games of Berkeley in downtown Berkeley has basically every game anyone could ever think of. It's hard to find what you want, but the staff is friendly enough although sometimes busy with other customers. Just walk around and find something you enjoy and like. However, unless you come with a stuffed wallet you're not going to be buying much. Games of Berkeley prices their stuff very high.

Im not an avid board gamer, but I went to Games of Berkeley a lot when I was a college student coming home from school. Its a great place to pass time, because there are just so many different games, most of which are unheard of by even the most die-hard gamers. Be sure to check out this place if youre looking for a neat gift. Or if you think youre a Magic the Gathering master, test your skills amongst others during their tournaments, which are held throughout the year.

This is always a fun store to browse around in. They carry a huge selection of games of all types. They have your typical board games, and a selection of other board games that you may never have heard of, or that are collectors editions of the originals. They carry chess sets -- from the basic to very elaborate and expensive sets. They have video games, and role playing games, all kinds of card games, educational games, puzzles and more. They do carry some non-game items like stuffed animals, toys, magic supplies, etc. The store offers tournaments for serious game players, as well.

PROS: Excellent selection - including hard to find games
CONS:

Like most game stores, Games of Berkeley seems to be run by gamers. That means they know a lot about what they sell--certainly more than my non-gaming self. They are nice about it, though. The store has a wide selection of games of all sorts--from kids' games to party games to more esoteric entertainments, and it is well-organized. Definitely worth checking out.Conveniently located near the Downtown Berkeley BART and several buslines.

What I enjoy most about Games of Berkeley is the variety of products that they carry. Board games, puzzles, card games, role-playing Dungeons & Dragons, miniatures, and more, Games of Berkeley seems to have all gaming areas covered.

The store is bright, well-lit and neatly organized, making finding your desired game or book very pleasant. The staff is generally friendly, even if not necessarily the most helpful at times. I thought the prices at GoB slightly higher than discount sellers, but to me, I interpret that as a price to pay for the vast selection that the store offers.

PROS: variety of different types of games

This surprisingly large store has virtually every kind of (non-video) game imaginable, from the old ones your parents remember playing to specialty historical ones to card games. I personally like war and strategy games, and there are enough variations on a theme of RISK (and the original RISK as well) to keep me happy. Also check out their D&D books and figurines.

Games of Berkeley is a great gaming store. With all sorts of resources and products for just about any gamer (role players, board/strategy types, warhammer and figurine people, etc.). The staff is friendly, but geeky (what else would you expect). You can typically find people playing something while youre there. Prices can be a bit expensive...

A surprising part of Berkeley Donwtown- where college students, parents, and children can converge. It may not be the biggest game store, but it offers something for everyone- be it jigsaws, children's toys, card and board games, collectable cards, comics etc. I've spent many afternoons in there when in need of something randomly fun...
and decently priced too.

Great selection here. Scrabble to D&D, for babies and Grandads. They have lots of demo models of their games to play and enjoy as well as daily tournaments. They have figurines (although the scentester figurines were notabley absent), books, toys, and other assorted fun for your favorite geek. Asthmatics rejoice!!! Steps away from the Berkeley Bart entrance...

PROS: Central Location in the Peoples' Republic of Berkeley
CONS: Clientel occasionally needs deodorant.....
