Once you get past the little man at check in, you'll love the place. Over the past couple years I've truly valued my time spent at Mission. It's roomy and doesn't smell like feet. Temperatures are well maintained and instructors are friendly and professional. Unfortunately, the overall vibe given by the gentleman who seems to be the head administrator is negative and less than helpful. It's yoga. Relax.

This is the only place I want to do yoga in SF! They have both Bikram and Vinyasa classes, so I can mix it up when I want! The teachers have that perfect balance of being super-nice and working me to my edge. The Vinyasa classes are in a beautiful hardwood floor room with lots of sunlight. Both studios are heated, which is great on these cold winter days! They even have No-clothes Yoga classes for the more adventurous! Big thumbs up!

Up Date - Dec 9th 2006

My first encounter with the Bikram studio under New Ownership was a positive one.
The temperature and humidity has come up.

Good Instructors, reasonable prices.

The studio can use some improvements, and from what "Juicy" and her partner have told me, I think they will bring Mission Yoga up to a new standard for Bikram in San Francisco.

Check back I will update as needed

I've been going to Mission Yoga for a year and a half, and have found it to be one of the best studios around. Each instructor has their own style, and they are all very encouraging and patient. There's zero attitude, it's not competitive, the other patrons are friendly, and the facility is well-kept. After researching other Bikram studios in the city, I think the pricing is great. Try it!

I have practiced many different styles of yoga, and been to almost every studio in this city. I was almost sure Bikram was not my thing, until I went to Mission Yoga. The teachers here are amazing and inspire you to work hard without being overbearing. You can feel the love of yoga here. The studios are very Zen, the new Sun Room is gorgeous. All who want to learn yoga, practice yoga and become yogis are welcomed here. Mission Yoga is yoga for the people.

The instructors here rock. There was this one lady in particular who's so passive and understanding and she just throws out this vibe that makes you relax. She coaches you on how to enjoy the pose that you're doing instead of getting all frustrated when you can't.

i had been doing vinyasa for a couple years but could never get off my butt to go more than once a week. i've been going 3-5 times/week to mission yoga for bikram classes for about six months now. the instructors and general vibe are great, and my old aches and pains have disappeared. great for rsi/carpal tunnel and back pain.

I have done vinyasa yoga with several different studios for about 2 years prior coming to Mission Yoga's Sun Room about a month ago. I absolutely love the staff, who every time I encounter them, are so sweet and inviting. The classes are challenging, and I can see my practice improve each time I attend. I highly recommend it for people of all levels to come to Mission Yoga.

This studio has 2 floors of yoga classes with Bikram, Vinyasa, Flow, Restorative, Forrest, Bhakti and Partner Yoga... also Tai Chi. They have the best instructors, Rusty Wells, Jonathan Reynolds, Jen Burk, Amme Hill, Katy Fox and Sarah Robinette. The studio offers 8 classes daily and will increase the classes in January. The street parking is always available. The prices are less than other studios.

I love this studio-- supportive teachers, showers, and a huge practice space. Unlike other studios in SF, you will never be squished next to another person. It has an overall good vibe.

After trying out Birkram Yoga, I decided to stick with Hatha. Maybe it was all the sweating that turned me off, or the location of the studio, or the instructor that wouldn't let up (he did not feel very yoga-esque). And the prices are high, and the guy that supposedly introduced Birkram to the U.S. wants to monopolize all Birkram studios, but it just wasn't for me. But my friend who went appreciated the tough attitude, and the sweat, so maybe it just wasn't for me.

PROS:
CONS: pricey

Teachers know each person by name, challenge and progress. Knowledgeable teachers. Welcoming energies throughout space. Clean studio. Convenient class schedule. Became addicted after my first class!

All in all a great place for Bikram - very clean, comfortable, and not overcrowded. The studio is nice and big, and having showers is a definite plus. Teachers are all very nice, and helpful if you're having trouble with a pose. Plus, they've got free lockers and mat storage.
