Wonderful Atmosphere

Whenever we get a chance, we head to Old Town to Cafe Coyote. We always eat outside and enjoy the atmosphere as well as the wonderful food.
I would highly recommend it.

Authentic Mexican flair

by Lindsey H. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,900

Cafe Coyote is a large restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, a wide variety of menu items, authentic and great-tasting food, and a friendly ambiance. The authentic Mexican paintings on the walls add to the charm of the place. Don't forget to buy some fresh tortillas at the front of the restaurant on the street- they are delicious!

Best Mexican Food!

by kelly t.

This place is truly the best in all of Old Town.
Home made tortillas, addicting salsa, fabulous entrees... Even the staff LOVES the food!! Now THAT says something big!! I am a big fan of the fajitas and their carnitas. Also, make sure you stop in to the cantina for some authentic tacos... slightly different menu than the restaurant.

a must go in old town

by Rachel S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,560

Best mexican food for great prices. This place has the greatest authentic food and atmosphere. The people who work here are kind and accomodating and their food is just delicious. If you do not have time to go in, get a tortilla on the corner of the restaurant, they are only $.50 and you can even get a strawberry one or a chocolate one.

We went to Cafe Coyote in Old town on our trip to San diego. This Cafe was so packed with people all the time, we wanted to try it out and it was the very best! Tortillas are freshly made here in front of us and their salsas are just heavenly! We had the quesadillas, tortillas and for dessert we tried their crispy icecream.Delicious! We got some tortillas togo too.A nice place to wander around for tourists and have dinner here.
