Platinum Tan

Platinum Tan is my favorite out of all the tanning salons that I have been to in my life. The owner actually cares about his clientele and is most often onsite to oversee the business and to make sure that his clients get the best treatment, the most accurate information regarding indoor tanning. Amazing spray tan! The brownest and most natural color. Very friendly and professional atmosphere. They go over your body multiple times so the tan is very deep and even. Cost is less than what I normally pay for a spray tan plus there's a buy one get one coupon on the website for your first visit, very nice.

I would recommend this salon to everyone.

I'm definitely not a full-time tanner, but I really had a great experience when I went to Platinum Tan. Because I don't go tanning that often, I know sometimes I can feel intimidated when I actually do go because the people working there don't really help you out, or show you the machines and how to use them. This was not the case here. The girls there were extremely helpful and showed me how the bed worked before I starting using it. Everything there was really clean, and it didn't have that "tanning booth" smell either.

Best tanning salon ever.

The girls here are always wicked nice and more than willing to help you or answer any of your questions. They are attentive to the fact that if you are pale skinned (like myself), they suggest you do a specific time, rather than me going the full time and burning the hell out of myself.

I haven't tried the spray tans or the airbrush tans, but I've heard both are great. Their hours are extremely convenient as well. Definitely go here for all your tanning needs. Best place in San Diego!

Platinum Tan & Spa is hands-down the best tanning salon in San Diego. I am a religious tanner and have visited every tanning salon and personal tanning services there is in the area. The salon is very clean and always have the top of the line equipment and products. The employees are very outgoing, friendly people that are highly educate in this industry. The mystic tan is my favorite and its super quick and long lasting! When calculating overall value...a membership is the way to go. Don't believe me about this place? Go on in and see for yourself.

Being a white dude, it's hard sometimes... especially when you're super white like me. That's why I come here to Platinum Tan & Spa. I have always pass by this place but last week was the first time I came in to get a tan. The place itself looks fantastic inside and out. I got a package deal which was the best I can find in San Diego. The girls who work there are nice and cute. What more can I ask for in a tanning salon...

One of the best tanning salons I have been too. Very clean and reasonable prices. And plus they have student prices, super sweet. Lets just say if I dont come here I would be like white bread :) Another thing is the girls are always sweet. They also pay close attention to my name. So every time I walk in they always greet me by my name. Emily is very sweet. She also recommends great products.

This place is worth the drive from anywhere in the city. It is the cleanest tanning salon I have ever seen. The employees are always friendly even 20min before close on a Friday night. The prices are great, I have the unlimited membership but all the memberships are awesome. Once you come here you don't wanna leave.

I gotta be honest, I have never gone in a salon to get tanned before. This was my first time getting tan inside a salon. I thought it would be so awkward, I did not want to go at first but my girlfriend found some really great coupons online and she dragged me with her. I was kind of nervous when i got there but the staff were so nice and they treated you like family. Their service was great, it didn't even cost a lot. I came out of the salon feeling amazing. I had the best experience and for sure I am gonna go there again! Especially when I found out that they have promotions going on all the time.

I've been meaning to write Platinum Tan a review for awhile. Typically, tanning salons snag customers into overpriced multi-visit packages with excellent first-impression customer service. They hook the customer with familiarity, and service quality diminishes as the business takes the customer for granted. I've been frequenting Platinum Tan since March/April 2008, and surprisingly, every visit has been exceptional in every way.

Like always, Platinum's beds are spotless. I've been traumatized by friends who perform unmentionables in tanning beds to pass time, and even with this knowledge, I have no problem hopping bare-assed into their High-end beds. Their beds are top notch, hours and location ,free parking, and the candy they place with eye protection and towels always brings a smile to my face. I've never witnessed Platinum without a new customer or returning customer special, so there's always an affordable tanning option for everyone.

Last, but not least, what really makes Platinum Tan stand out is its customer service. The employees are such sweethearts. He's probably seen me at my worst more often than my partner, and makes checking in and tanning a comfortable and pleasant event. I ended my recent package today, and just like before, I left without any pressure to purchase a new one (although it's kind of a given I'll come back).

I've been recommending Platinum to my friends, and I definitely recommend it to those seeking a pleasurable Vitamin D boosting tanning experience.

I LOVE this tanning salon. I have have been tanning for about 10 years, not bragging just saying.I have had my share of horrible tanning salons and wasted money trying to get a tan. Recently my old salon raised their rates so I decided to find one closer to home. I have been searching for a new place for about two months. Everywhere I went the prices were so high for crappy old beds.I do not mind paying high dollar for a good tan as long as I see results and the bed has little UVB rays. Today I went to Platinum Tan today and I was pleasantly surprised. But it was a beautiful salon with state of the art technology.The guy who helped me was awesome. He had all the info about the different beds and helped me find a package that works for my budget and my needs.I went in the level 5 bed today, which is 100% UVA rays. So you dont burn and do not have to tan everyday. I got out about an hour ago and I already see color. The best part of the tan was the mist! It reminded me of being at the topless pools in Vegas. Whenever you get too hot just have a little mist to cool you off!I recommend this place to anyone, there are so many of them its easy to find one near you. There are packages as low as $30 a month. So there is no need to be wasting your time and money at other salons. Oh and Platinum Tan offers air brush tanning, So if you have a package at PlatinumTan you do not need to find a different place for an airbrush. One stop shop!

I LOVE to tan...and I have been to many places in SD to do it. Platinum Tan is a high quality tanning salon. They not only offer tanning beds, but they have my favorite type of tan...the Mystic Tan. It is always clean, the employees are nice, and they have a special every day of the year!!! My favorite salon in SD by far!

Platinum Tan is by far your best choice for tanning in San Diego. Compared to other salons I have been to, Platinum Tan offers the best selection of tanning lotion and product along with five levels of tanning beds to chose from. I was also impressed with the other services the salon offers-facials, waxing, and airbrush tanning. It is so nice to be able to get all my skin care needs taken care of in one first-class facility.

Used to tan here all the time when I lived downtown but there prices are more than double what you can get elsewhere - super overpriced! The beds are good and the salon is pretty but I'd recommend Ibiza tan instead, right across the street.

PROS: Decent beds, pretty, close to the gym
CONS: Price, price, price

I needed a perfect beach tan for the summertime so I went to platinum tan. Platinum tan was not the cheapest place around but it is definitely comparable to other tanning salons. The staff was extremely friendly and gave me a good introduction to the health risks involved with artifical UV tanning. They made me feel welcome and my tan turned out quite well.
