The best quality job ever. I just had my Lamborghini 2007 bumper upgraded to the newer style and they did a fantastic job customizing it to fit like the original and matching the paint perfectly. Not only that they also fully and beautifully restored my 1988 M6 BMW with all OEM parts from Germany and WOW it looks amazing. I got both cars on the 22nd of December. This is the best Christmas gift I have ever received and thanks to the great team of Stering Collision Center. Ray the VP of Sterling has been a joy to work with. He kept me updated with the progress on weekly basis and worked with Evo Motors to make sure all the engine work is done. This has been the most amazing experience. Thank you.

I recently purchased a CPO Porsche Carrera S Cabriolet. Unfortunately, like all CPO cars, there was some underlying issues that didn't quite pass muster with me when I purchased it so I took the car to my dealership in Newport Beach to see what they recommended. In this case, the previous owner of the car looked like he had parked on top of a few curbs on more than one occasion and although there was no visible damage to the upper visible portion of the bumper, there were some pretty deep grooves and scratches on the underside, so I decided to have my dealer order me a new bumper and have the old one replaced.

The dealer ordered up the new bumper for me and shipped my car over to Sterling Collision Center in Tustin who apparently does all of their certified Porsche body work.

I was given the GM's contact info, Ray, and started dialogue with him on what I wanted him to do which was basically remove the old bumper, paint the new one and replace it on the vehicle. In addition to doing this, I also asked him if he could paint and install a fixed wing on my car in lieu of the stock spoiler, which he said would not be a problem.

Car went in on a Wednesday and came out the following Thursday. It looked amazing. They matched the charcoal metalic paint beautifully and there is absolutely no visual difference between the bumper and the original body panels. The spoiler also looked just as good. Ray even returned all my original parts like I had requested.

On the day of pick up, they took me into the warehouse and showed me everything they had done. They also wanted to make sure that I was 100% satisfied with the job they had done, which I was.

Every person I talked to at the organization was friendly, responsive and eager to help. I would strongly recommend Sterling if you have any sort of exotic car or something that needs a little extra TLC... These guys are great!

My 350Z had major front end damage after being hit while parked in front of my house here in Orange County. My car was taken to Sterling Collision Center and was repaired within a 3 week process. Upon completion my vehicle looked fantastic. Furthermore, the attention their staff gave me was impeccable I knew on a weekly bases the status of my repairs and they made me feel like a million bucks. Their facility was very impressive and the technology they use to repair vehicles was mind boggling. A personal thank you to Sean who was as professional and positive as one could be.

Had them repaint the left front of my silver metallic Porsche Boxster through a AAA claim.

The Good: Timely repair. Informative friendly enthusiastic service. Facility and operations is impressive. Took a guided tour, was sold on the types of cars being repaired and the shop's interior appearances.

Bad: Despite certificates, appearances and friendly service, I Would not take a metallic car to this shop again. They can't do the job exactly right. Clear coat came out impeccablly, but that's not that hard, and it was just about meaningless since they didn't match the color coat. Metallic is very difficult to work with, everything has to be just right. However with right training, experience, and good eye, it is not impossible to match metallic. Another shop, Bell Strauss, had previously redone the rear end of this same car and their work was invisible. It was perfect. Alas Sterling took over Bell Strauss. I went with Sterling partly because I had hoped they would inherit Bell Strauss quality. Also they work on the high end cars that Bell Strauss used to do.

The panels Sterling worked on now nearly scream, "repainted!" Production Manager reviewed the work and said it was factory quality, but that the rest of my car was sub-par. Say what? I didn't expect much in the way of remedying a bad repair, but when he said this I was like, we're done here.

Bottom line: they failed to match existing and blamed the existing for being sub-standard-aftermarket job. Existing is NOT aftermarket. Existing is NOT sub-standard. Existing is beautiful creamy smooth German work. Even Bell Strauss' work was beautiful creamy smooth, and most importantly, a perfect invisible match. Sterling's job is rough and ugly, exactly as if they had dialed the nozzle too wide which caused the spray to deposit too-large droplets. Which probably means they used the wrong pressure, which means they probably used the wrong mixture and wrong paint, because it all goes together. To add insult injury they had the galls to call the rest of the car shoddy. They did offer to detail the car to make peace, which they already do as courtesy to existing customers.

If they had at least owned up to a mistake, I still could recommend their shop on strength of their service. Now after blaming the factory finish for not living down to their level of workmanship, I can't possibly recommend them to my parents. Nor should you. Especially if you have metallic.

Last month I enjoyed my birthday with my family and friends. After the long day of fun I finally laid down to go to sleep when a loud bang came from outside. Lucky me a drunk driver slammed into my beautiful 3 series. After being up till 3 AM dealing with the insurance I was able to go to sleep. I awoke the next morning and called Newport Sterling BMW to have my car towed to the collision center. I was very upset and looking for some fast answers. I called in before my car even got there. The friendly staff told me nobody had been assigned to my file yet but that they would find out who was. After a short wait on hold Bobby was on the phone with me. He was great and took a lot of worry off my shoulders. He made himself readily available for me on short notice and met with me an hour later. When I got to the collision center the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Bobby came into the waiting room and introduced him self. Then he took meback were my car was were he walked me through the process and filled me in on what was going to happen. I could tell I was dealing with someone who was honest and trully concernd. Being someone who works in hospitalty this ment a lot to me. Bobby kept me up to speed on everything that was happening. After about a week the insurance company called me and told me my car was a total loss. Once again I was ready to find out what was going to happen next. Right after I hung up the phone with the insurance company Bobby called. He told me the news as well and made himself readily available so that I could come clean my car out and sign off the car. I could not of been happier with who I was dealing with. \r
\r
I just want to thank Bobby Kripf and all the Sterling Collision Group For there Honesty, Kindness and professionalism.\r

You guys made this a lot easier for me,\r

I used to be a consulting partner with Price Waterhouse. I backed our new car into the garage door. We live in the Palm Springs area and got two estimates out here and then visited Sterling Collision in Tustin. We had Sterling do the repair.

Our overall experience - they have a world-class facility, service that every organization should aspire to, and a General Manager with integrity and a great sense of fairness.

With the myriad of on-line reviews and the uncertainty of who is doing the rating and their motivation, I would simply suggest visiting their Tustin facility and talking with either Bobby Kripps, client advisor, or Ray Shahi, the General Manager.

Here was our experience. First, Bobby Kripps asked for the keys and drove it into their facility. He tried to have the scratches buffed out so he could simply hand us the keys and say goodbye. He noticed a very small dent that neither of the other two companies saw. He showed us the facility including the area where they basically detail every car they work on and explained the steps in the repair process. Four days later we drove into Orange County and picked up the car. It was immaculate.

Dont take our word for it simply visit them.

I recently took my 2011 Audi Q5 in for repairs. I was assisted by Mr. Bobby Krips which from beginning to end delievered a world class customer experience. He explained in detail the process and kept me informed in detail of any issues that came up. My car was in the shop for almost one month, not the shops fault but the so called good insurance company called Farmers which delayed the adjuster to come out, since it was their insured fault. At the end of this ordeal, my car was considered a total loss. I still had an amazing experience at the shop, from the cleanliness, professionalism, and dedicated customer service that all shops should be measured by. Thank you Bobby Krips and team for all your help.

I recently took my Toyota Camry to Sterling for body repair, and I had an exceptional experience! I was reading some of the Citysearch reviews, and I believe that the negative reviews I read would not be happy ANYWHERE they took their vehicle. This shop is a high-line shop, judging by the other vehicles there, but I never felt like my vehicle and my patronage were not valued. Scott Berger handled my vehicle, and he did an outstanding job. He answered all questions, and my vehicle looks amazing. I would definitely recommend Sterling Collision. It was a very positive experience.

I recently took my VW Phaeton to STERLING COLLISION for body work and a total repaint. The Phaeton is a difficult car to work on, but under the watchful eye of Production Manager Sean Russell, I was completely satisfied with the final result. Sean was more than helpful with warranty issues and very concerned about getting me the best service from VW. I could not be happier with STERLING'S customer service. I was contacted on a regular basis during the process and made aware of any options as they arose. The car was delivered as promised and within estimate. I would not hesitate to recommend them, especially if you are seeking a quality result.

Sterling Collision had the worst service I've ever experienced. I took my Porsche Cayenne Turbo there to repair and it took them over 5 weeks to repair simple front bumper damage. Then called me the day it was promised to be finished and said they forgot to mention my sensors aren't working. They were just going to give me the car back without finishing the repair! Terrible customer service. Poor management. Word of advise...

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that auto-repair shops have a pretty strong incentive to keep ur car for as long as they can so they can bill you for as many hours as possible. Sterling Collisions elevates this to an art form. I have an M3, which i managed to dent on the fender. So I took it to these guys and was given an estimated time of one week and an estimated cost of about 1600 bucks. two days later, they revised the estimate to...hold your breath...a month and half and about 9000 bucks. also, i was told this after they had apparently already taken much of the car apart..so i couldn't really go back in take my car back. their explanation would've been sad if not so laughable. apparently the parts they ordered from germany were delayed because of the volcanic ash from iceland. perfectly understandable you'd think...EXCEPT THAT THIS WAS A FULL MONTH AFTER ALL FLIGHTS HAD BEEN NORMALIZED IN EUROPE. I'm not certain what to feel more peeved about...the fact that they are clearling filching me or that they would try to insult my intellegence with such impunity. \r
anyway, so now it's been well over a month already and just today, they've given me three different estimated delivery times in the space of two hours (not to mention multiple conflicting and erroneous statuis updates on the repairs). oh and did i mention that they make it sound like they're doing me a favor and beating their initial time estimate? I have an idea for them to make sure they always deliver before time. just quote 6 months as repair time for every vehicle that comes in ...just be sure to do that after you've taken the vehicle apart...so the customer can't decide not to have you do the repairs. and then deliver the car in 5 months and 29 days. Viola.. u have a perfect record.\r
\r
on the other hand, if you're an unfortunate car owner with repair needs, my advice to you would be to just find another shop.\r

Cons: slow (likely deliberately), innacurate vehicle updates

I only have one thing to say about the repairs and customer service that my husband and I got at Sterling collision...... WOW, GREAT JOB.\r
\r
I want to thank Marie and her co-workers for making our car look like new. We love our car and are glad to get it back.

Hey all, recently I had a mishap with my beloved BMW E46 M3 coupe. And when I say beloved, I mean I love this car more than life itself well not quite that much, but you get the idea. Specifically, my car suffered rear-end body damage. While it drove just fine, it looked horrible.\r
\r
Finding a company competent enough to repair an ultra-premium vehicle like an M3 isnt easy. So I did a fair amount of research in order tofind someone that I could trust to fix my prized G-ride. I eventually settled on Spectrum Collision based on other feedback I read on the internet as well its relationship with a local Orange county BMW dealership.\r
\r
During the estimate, the guys let me know right away that this fix was going to take some serious time. They also took the time to give me a tour of the facilities. I couldnt believe the sheer number of late model and smashed up 3, 5-and 7-series Beemers under repairthese guys had to know what theyre doing! \r
\r
Without a doubt I could have brought my car elsewhere and it may have been repaired faster, but, to me, the MOST important aspect of a repair is doing it correctly. Thus, it wasnt that big of a deal knowing that Id be without my whip for 2 to 3 months. \r
\r
Craig Borja was the point man for my repairs and he flat-out did an excellent job. Hedidnt really keep me aware of the status of the repair (fine by me) but when my car was finally fixed the results were outstanding. You could never tell that the car was in an accident and it drove perfectly. A few weeks after picking up the car, I noticed that the repaired areas showed some orange-peel effect in the black paint. I brought it back and Dan Gonzalez had the boys work their magic and voila, it was literally better than new.\r
\r
If youre looking for a quick repair, Id advise you to look elsewhere. But, if you want a quality repair and arent considered about the time its going to take than choosing Spectrum Collision is a no-brainer.\r
\r
Thanks guys for keeping me mached-out in style.

Pros: Excellent workmanship

Cons: Length of repair

.

I got in a small accident at 5 MPH and had minor damage to the front end. Sterling took 2.5 months to repair a simple accident and lied to me and even hung up on my insurance agent when he inquired why it was taking so long. They cashed my 11K check the same day but made me wait over 2 months. I talked with the owner who told me he couldn't afford to lose any money on the deal and gave me a $700 discount even though I was out 5K for a rental car and had a 2K deductible. My insurance was billed over $16,000 and that was maxed out and they probably made 8k on that.

Very poor service and when I finally got my car, none of the interior lights worked. So, I had to take to the dealership and pay them to fix. Joe the owner really needed my $1,300 more than I do so I hope he's happy for treating me like that and although I've never given anyone a bad review, consumers must know about their bait and switch tactics and this guy telling me he "couldn't afford" to credit me my deductible for keeping my car while the Bentleys, Lambos and Ferraris are in and out in a week or less.

I will never go there again and recommend that nobody else does either. For the record Sterling Collision Center gets a negative five rating on a scale of one to ten.

I was referred to Sterling auto body by my Audi dealer in Mission Viejo. I want to thank Ray and Paula for helping me with a rental car and repairing my car quickly. As a single mother, it is difficult to know who to trust when it comes to repairing my car. I want to thank my Audi dealer for their recommendation. I am a happy customer and will let all of my friends know about both companies.

As one of the principles at Sterling Collision Center, I was very concerned reading your post and was in the process of searching our Customer Survey follow ups when something troubled me. One of my employees brought to my attention that your post is almost identical to a post made back on May 2nd, 2007( 9 posts down from here). Same accident, same exact issues and same word for word comments. \r
\r
That said, we have tried to build a successful business but have found that there are many unscrupulous competitors out there who very often post anonymous Bad Experience items on the internet in attempt to smear a brand we work hard to uphold. \r
\r
Do we have issues that arise at our business, absolutely; I and anyone else who is in the business world would be lying if we said otherwise. Particularly in our business, gettingin an accident or damaging a high vehicle( or any vehicle) is not a pleasant experience. And regardless of what we do, we have found will never be able to please everyone, BUT we will do everything we can in our power to satisfy ALL of our customers. \r
\r
With every customer that gives us the opportunity to earn their business, we attempt to survey them at the conclusion of repairs which provides us immediate and real feedback. We try to resolve any outstanding issues immediately. We are very proud to say we have a 96.6% VERIFIABE customer satisfaction rating ( that is higher than most dealerships doing routine service work, nothing close to the complexity of what have to perform in putting cars back together). Additionally, over 20% of customers are REPEAT customers each month, and we repair 100s of cars a month. \r
\r
So Porsche or Soldier5082 or whoever you are, this post is very suspicious to say the least. In that vain, we will be pursuing all means necessary to remove this and other slanderous posts from this site and others with a passion. \r
\r
I am not hiding behind an anonymous post and encourage anyone with a valid complaint, concern or something that wasnt just right, to call me directly at our store and I will do everything in my power to get to the bottom and resolve any outstanding issue with our repairs or your customer experience here at Sterling Collision Center. \r

This was a pretty horrible experience. My car got a small dent in the rear quarter panel. Nothing big. Sterling was recommended by my insurance agency. To minimize the time we were withouout a car my wife took it in for an evaluation and had them order the parts before we delivered the car for repairs. Right away I knew they were padding their timeline when they said it would be two weeks for the actual repair (I have some familiarity with type of work and estimated it generously to be about 20 manhours of work). \r
Still, rather than start over, we went forward. Immediately, the lack of returning phone calls started. After nearly three weeks of getting no information, I showed up in their lobby so they would have to speak to me. The manager and I looked at the car and it still wasn't close to done. He explained how they do such superb quality that it just takes longer. I was not impressed with this answer and after much discussion they agreed to provide me with a rental car. About 4 days later I got a call that my car was ready. I showed up and it was immediately obvious that the repair was very poorly done. The various seams were not close to be even (very tight in places and loose in others) and the quarter panel wasn't flush with the lower panel. I'm not picky but it was an obvious bad repair. The explanantion to me was that they had to first try aftermarket parts and the part just didn't fit well (then why call me and tell me the car is ready). They admitted it was a bad repair but had apparently been hoping I wouldn't notice or wouldn't say anything.\r

I took my car to Sterling Autobody and was so impressed by the experience. They handled every detail of the repair for me, they even scheduled a rental car to meet me there when I dropped off my car for repairs. They called me like every other day to keep me updated on the status of my repair too!\r
Great, job I would definately recommend this shop.

I had some minor damage to the rear bumper of my car. Since it was not my fault, I figured I would have it repaired. I was told that my car would be finished within 4 business days. After many phone calls and frustrated pleas to get my car back I finally got it back AFTER 1 MONTH!! 1 MONTH FOR A MINOR REPAIR!! Not only was I extremely disappointed in the length of time it took for such a minor fix, I felt that the people who worked there were used to giving their customers the run around. NEVER GO TO STERLING COLLISION!

I brought in my BMW 5 Series to Sterling Collision Center on the recommendation of the dealership that I had bought my vehicle from. From the get-go they told me that it would take them at least 3 months to repair the rear end of my car, which seemed RIDICULOUS... But since it was recommended by the dealership, I thought I would give them a try.. WRONG CHOICE!!!! Throughout the duration of the repair, no one ever gave me a courtesy call to give me status on my car. I always had to call them to figure out what was going on and that is if they were ever there to answer my calls. I left numerous messages and they were only returned when I threatened to file a complaint to whomever I needed to.

After being in customer service for over 15 years, I would never expect this kind of service from a shop that is highly recommended by a BMW dealership. I'm appalled at the way this situation was handled and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone who wants their car to be fixed in a timely manner or get any kind of customer service.

Sterling did an excellent job on my Porsche both times I had to take it in. They were highly professional, very diligent, fixed the car flawlessly and even got it back to me ahead of time. I highly recommend Sterling and would not take my car anywhere else.

I did my due diligence before taking my car Sterling body shop in Tustin, even though my insurance company asked me to go there. I had a choice of 3 body shops that my insurance company gave me. I was impressed with their clean lobby and building. My advisor (Sal) showed me some of the cars that they were working on and I could not believe how many BMWs there was in there, ;) I fell in love with a red lamborghini they had in there, too bad I can't afford one YET.\r
\r
I hope I dont have to go back to a body shop again but if I do, I'll use Sterling. My car looks great and I am happy with the customer service.

In the end, we got the car back after more than 4 weeks and about ten unreturned phone calls and four trips to the repair shop. To boot, they lost my owner's manual when they used it to put back in the radio theft code. Official insurance estimate for the work: 16 manhours!!! Even 1 man working just 4 hours a day should have the work done in 4 days. They took more than 4 weeks.....

I was referred to Sterling body shop by my Porsche dealer in Newport. I called and asked several questions about how they would repair my car, what type of warranty they would provide, customer service, length of time in business, etc. I drove to their shop in Tustin and saw several Porsches in their parking lot. One of their service advisors gave me a tour of the shop and showed me more Porsches under repair. \r
\r
I was convinced that they had the experience and knowledge to work on my car. I called my insurance agent from their office and made arrangements for the adjuster to inspect my car at their shop. \r
\r
Even though I had some problems with my insurance adjuster paying for all of the repairs, however I was completely satisfied with the customer service and repairs at Sterling body shop. I will use these guys again, if I need body work.

As a repeat customer at Sterling BMW and Sterling Collision, I have had good experience both at the service dept of the dealership and their body shop. My 540I was at the body shop for almost 2 months getting the front end replaced. I was told it would take about 8-10 weeks for the total repairs (final bill of $19,430, thank goodness Insurance company picked up the tab) and it took them that long to repair the car. I visited the shop on several occassions to make sure they were working on my car. I was treated with respect and am thankfull to their manager for his professionalism everytime I went to look at my car. They detailed my car when I picked it up, it looked almost as good as the day that I got it from the dealership. Black is not an easy color to hide any mistakes and I tried very hard to find some flaws in the paint but was not able to tell what part of the car was not painted. I am very satisfied with the repairs. I hope I never have to go to another body shop again....... enough accidents for me for the rest of the year 07,08 and 09.

WOW, I am surprised to see how mad you are. I admit that they are busy but they were fair and upfront with me. they told me it will take 2 months to fix my baby and they took 2 MONTHS to fix it. after $18340.00 and 2 months in the rental car, I GOT MY BABY back a few days ago. \r

I am happy as a clam and will recommend the boys (as I got used to calling them) to everyone that I know.\r

I suggest you visit their shop and talk to their manager before making your decision based on what happened to these guys.

By far the worst experience I have ever encountered with a business and/or body shop. I thought I was making a smart decision by taking my Audi to a body shop that specialized in repairing Audis&Porsches, not to mention it had been referred to me by an Audi dealership in the area; little did I realize this decision would turn out to be an enormous mistake. A repair that should have taken, at most one month, turned into four. I would call the shop constantly to see how my car was coming along; they never once called me of their own accord to update me, and could never give me a time frame of completion. Once I started to encounter problems and reported them to my insurance company, my insurance co. informed me that they had numerous records of this particular shop falsifying repair work. When I went into the rental car business next to Sterling over a month after dropping off my car, several of the employees began telling me of all the irate customers they had seen come out of Sterling. One girl said, ""I feel so bad for people when they come here to rent a car after taking their own to Sterling, they are not going to get their vehicle back for a long time."" Sterling Collision came up with every excuse in the book as to why my car was not complete months later. It was only after I had an attorney contact Sterling that my car was miraculously finished. But Sterling still insisted on payment of an unreasonable amount from my insurance company and would not release my vehicle. I filed a report with the BBBureau along with the Bureau of Automotive Repair. A quick call from the BBBureau to the shop was all it took for my car to suddenly become available for pickup and the amount my insurance co. was willing to pay, become acceptable. I implore you, take your car anywhere else!

I dropped off my 745 with minor accident valued at $4400 with them early november.
They calculated the completion as $150 a day, total 27 working days.
This is already absurd.
Early december they promised to finish on 17th january.
This is almost double of their original estimate.
On 16th january I called to pick up my car.
They said the same thing they told me 6 weeks before: The car is on a factory jig.
This is the worst shop I ever seen.
Go somewhere else.

Pros: good parking

Cons: extrem slow, lies, no explanations

After a relatively minor accident, we took our car to Sterling for repair. The initial estimate was that it would be about 3 weeks for repair. They promised to keep us informed on the progress. They never called us - we always had to call them. They kept giving us a date about a week out and then the next time we would call they would slip the date again.

I would not recommend them for any repair unless you were not in a hurry for the repair. I am sure there are better repair facilities available.

My wife's BMW was involved in an accident about 2 months ago. I was referred to Sterling BMW Collision by my insurance company. This was our first accident so we were not familiar with the claim processing. Our advisor (john) was very professional and helpful in dealing with our insurance company. They did a great job in repairing our 530 I and it was done a few days earlier than promised. BTW, my brother in law couldn't tell what part of the car was fixed after he saw the car. Thanks a gain guys, great job.
