Ringlets Salon

I have been going to Ringlets for 3 years. Pamela is a great stylist. My hair always looks good. She is very skilled and knows her craft. I trust what she does when I sit in her chair. Color, cut whatever you need she can do it. Long and short hair.

I had hair that was far past my shoulder and went to Ringlets with a photo that I'd had for years of an edgy, VERY short cut (think Caesar-style) and Pamela cut it perfectly! Since that time, she has done wonderful color and I even experimented with a relaxer (though it was at my urging, as she noted that it wasn't necessary). I appreciate that she does not try to "sell in" all her services and products. Note that she does an excellent job with bi-racial hair that may include several different textures. Clean, courteous, well-maintained, good music and magazines! A good place for "me" time. Remember: You get what you pay for!

I've been a client of the owner, PJ, for over 10 years. I would have no one else touch my hair... she's just that good. My color is fab, my cuts are always just what I want... even when I wasn't sure what I wanted when all I knew was that I wanted "a change". I don't mind paying a little bit more than others because I know she'll use the right products for the right amount of time resulting in me looking great and feeling great when I leave. As well, she counsels on how to maintain the style after I've left the salon. Important for those of us who don't go every week. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. And if a girl can't gossip with her hairdresser, then I think the world is coming to an end. My highest recommendations... you won't be disappointed!

Although the salon appears to be somewhat o.k., it's bascially a ghetto fab salon, with a low scale quality work.

If the hair stylist was more into doing hair then gossiping maybe the quality may go up.

Don't recommend this place on an off day, better off doing your hair yourself !!

Ringlets is a fairly good sized salon, with a lot of beauty products. It is located near Kaiser Permanente and the Oakland Hills. The hair stylists are pretty nice. You would have to call to get an appointment, as I am not very sure of availability. As far as I am concerned, they do a pretty good job! Be sure to describe exactly what style and cut you want!
