Insider Pages Reviews for Companion Animal Clinic

Ratings_icons Dr. Norman Smith Thank you!

benjamin b.

When it comes time saying goodbye to a long time animal companion, the choices become limited.
Our local surgery office where we have done busines$ for years, did not offer to accept a
house call
in this instance.
Dr. Smith and his staff provided us with exactly what we needed to send our old friend off to "a better place."
This was the best end I could have hoped for.
Humane,kind, no pain and exacting.
I can only hope my departure will be so peacefull.
I give this business an A+!
Thank you kindly

Ratings_icons Friendly staff, sometimes frightening care.

Throughout my childhood and early adult life, I have always taken my animals to here. The staff are very friendly and the prices have always been reasonable. I have never felt overcharged for services. However, in more recent years, as my pets have had more serious needs, this clinic has fallen short of what I would call acceptable care. I took one of my dogs in after she got into a fight with a stray to recieve stitches. I wrote them a list of every wound she had, including a 3 inch gash on her underside. When I picked her up, I assumed that everything had been stitched. Upon inspecting her in the privacy of my own home, I discovered that they had not stitched the huge gash on her belly, let alone clean or shave it. I returned and they stitched it free of additional charge. My sister took her kitten with a broken hind leg in and they splinted the leg to the cat's body. She took it in weekly, as they recommended, to be checked as it healed. Shortly after taking her kitten in one day, she told me she couldn't wait to get the bandage off because it "smelt funny." I inspected the bandage and found that it had rubbed the kitten's belly open and raw and the wound was full of pus. They had seen the kitten early THAT DAY. My older cat was suffering from painful urination. They failed to run any tests and told me he was passing crystals, feed him this special food. When he failed to improve, I took him to another vet who, upon testing him, discovered he was in partial renal failure. I now take all of my animals to a more thorough veterinarian.
