I drove 50 miles to try Johnny Pastrami??s. On 11-19-2009, at 11:45, I sat down at a small table outside in the patio. The table was only big enough for 2, perfect? I am a big person and I was going to enjoy this pastrami I have heard so much about. Well I could not order from the table because I was by myself and the table was for two. I was told I had to sit at the bar to get service????.I do not fit at the bar it would have been way to crowded. There were 5 other table open on the other side of the patio but rules are rules? I was told I should order ??to go??????..Excuse me! I rode 50 miles on a motorcycle to sit and enjoy a pastrami sandwich.
I did not argue or put up a fight, I just left depressed and hurt?..I??ll never go there again, I do not recommend the place, it sucks. I??ll never know what the pastrami taste like??? bummer?. Tico??s Taco in front of Johnny??s is always good. Up yours Johnny, you suck.

if you love pastrami, check out Johnnie's in Culver City. The food is great, cheap, and fun. Either before or after a night of drinking in the area, nothing hits the spot like a Johnnie's famous pastrami!

This is the place to get really good pastrami sandwiches, if you are ever in the Culver City area. They stay open late on the weekend's I know. Not sure about the weekeday's. I alway's have to share the sandwich with someone that's how big they are. It is loaded with pastrami and the fires and pickles are good as well.

This little diner style sandwich shop has been in business since the era of drive-in movies. With its outdoor firepits and tables and indoor booth and counter service it is a pleasant sort of relic and a neighborhood favorite. They serve unusual pastrami dip sandwiches with piles of paper thin slices of steamy pastrami on soft rolls or rye bread and big bowls of tangy real deli kosher style dill pickle chunks on every table(the REAL draw!). they also serve burgers, breakfasts and other grill style items, like what we call the heartburn special...a big order of fries smothered in chili and cheese...aacchh! I hope it never closes!

PROS: The PICKLES! Great greasy spoon, reasonable and friendly
CONS: the calories and the heart attacks to come....

The pastrami sandwich at Johnnie's is huge. But it doesn't taste very good. And it costs nearly $10.

For quality pastrami try Victor's Meat and Deli on National Blvd. near the 10 freeway. Or Langer's near McArthur Park.
