Susie's Pet Clipet

I rescued a senior Chow/Samoyed mix from a local shelter that was deaf and had cataracts. She was only 30lbs and was adorable. She had been neglected by her prior owners and I wanted to provide her with a level of comfort for her final years. She was making incredible progress and was really coming around. She even started to wag her tail and jump up to greet me. Even though she could only see shadows she would spend hours walking around the yard and climbing the steps into the house. I had placed bright white tape on edges of steps and other areas that posed a danger so she could navigate safely. She was constantly on the move. During a hot spell it became necessary to get her thick coat shaved so I took her to Susie's Pet Clipet on Park Blvd. I dropped her off at 10am I emphasized the obvious fragility of the dog. When I was called to pick her up late in the afternoon she was noticeably traumatized and looked like a poodle.There were numerous cuts and her coat was jagged. To add insult to injury I paid the $50 bill with 3 twenty dollar bills and my $10 change was given as a five and five ones. She was expecting a tip! Upon closer inspection I was shocked to see that Susie had not even attempted to clean her ears. When I adopted this dog she had a dew claw that had grown back around and through her leg! A half inch of claw was visible sticking out. Her ears were equally bad. Not just inside the ear canal... Even the underside of the ear flap! I find it absolutely incredulous that a groomer would overlook this. AND SHE WANTED A TIP?!! This oversight was not the worst of it though... The devastating result of this experience was that my dog was never able to stand for more than 15 seconds. Her back legs would swing around until she was in the sitting position. She could pick herself up and walk but if she stopped they would not support her. Sadly, she never waged her tail again and never jumped up to greet me either. She declined even further and was unable to stand altogether. She was developing sores where she sat and defecating on herself. She was miserable for the first time I heard her whine. A compassionate mobile vet came out to my home and she euthanized my dog. I am convinced that my dog would still be roaming my back yard with an acceptable/improving quality of life today and year from now. She is buried there instead. Needless to say, I will not be using Susie's Clipet services in the future.

This is by far the worst groomer that I have ever taken my dogs to. I have a Rottweiler and an Aussie Shepherd. As soon as I walked into the place I should have left. Unlike other groomers that have a large enclosed pen for the pets, this place had small dark kennels where the animals had to wait to get worked on. None of them were big enough for either of my two dogs and both had to uncomfortably stoop down low while caged up. The real disaster came when I arrived to pick them up. My Rotty had loose fur COVERING him. More than when I dropped him off. Isn't that why you take your dog to get groomed? To take care of that kind of thing? Also, the Aussie was COMPLETELY SHAVED!!! Who shaves a Shepherd? He looks like a Rat Terrier now. I asked for a haircut for my dog. Not for my dog to look like a Marine. And not only was his beautiful coat shaved, but it was uneven and cut in different length clumps. Now thanks to Susie, my dog won't need another haircut until September or October. I am almost embarrassed to walk him now. When I explained my dissatisfaction I was given nothing but attitude. I would never in a million years trust my animals with this establishment again and I wouldn't recommend them for anyone.

I would highly recommend Susies Pet Clipet!!! Susie has been grooming my dog, Maude for the last 7-8 years and Maude always comes back looking beautiful and smelling great with a pretty bow. Susie also clips her and Maude looks like a baby lamb!!!
