Mendel's Far Out Fabrics & Art

Mendels has a really wide variety of craft materials. I used to go here before I discovered Flax and always liked their selection. The good thing about that store is that it carries low priced in addition to high priced alternatives.

I am always looking around for new places to shop and happen to stop by this place. Great environment with many products to choose from. You can find anything for amatures to professionals. Great staff and great prices.

I always enjoy going to Mendels when I am looking for certain art supplies that I cannot find at other stores They always have a great variety and the prices are very reasonable.

This is a very well stocked art supply store that holds everything from mosaic tiles, paints, pens, paper and fabric.
Great selection of fabric and paper.

Store is well laid out and easy to navigate.

Staff are extremely helpfull and if they cannot locate what you need in store they will try and help you locate it elsewhere.

Prices are very reasonable.

Surprisingly, this shop used to be a house paint store, but over the years it gradually transformed into the mother of all art supply shops. Whatever your medium, you'll find everything you need to express yourself. They carry a huge inventory of art supplies, both traditional and the more unusual and contemporary. Best of all, this shop really encourages creativity and will help you find the creative side of yourself.

This is my favorite place to shop at for art supplies. Mendels always has a great variety and the prices are reasonable. I always enjoy going there and looking around because it give me a creative mind to want to make new things. The customer service is great and I would definately recommend this store to my friends and other people.

Mendel's Art Supply & Far Out Fabrics is the quintissential place to find just about *anything* one would need for crafts projects, needlework and sewing projects, painting, hobbies and Halloween! Excellent pricing and located conveniently in the Upper Haight. For Halloween or Burning Man supplies, GO EARLY, or you'll find that half of the Bay Area is in on this gem of a resource as well!
