For only $3 what can you really get? A third of a movie? Half a popcorn? A gallon of gas? For three dollars this gallery is well worth the price. Parking's pretty easy(its in balboa park afterall) and the location's easy to spot (if you've never been there before there's a map on the website)

P.S. Students, Military and Seniors are $2!!! But make sure to bring an ID

PROS: Price
CONS: Small

This non profit gallery in San Diego promotes the visual arts in San Diego through outreach, exhibition and education. They use all mediums for their art. Their mission is to maintain a center for emerging artists in the San Diego area.

Admission is $3 and the gallery is closed on Mondays. A place you need to visit while visiting San Diego.

The SDAI and attached Museum of the Living Artist give local artists the chance to exhibit their pieces in a museum environment, while still offering the sales potential of a gallary. Located in the center of Balboa park, the museum is much smaller than its neighbors, but offers an eclectic array of photos, sculptures and paintings. My personal favorite was the "1 Foot Gallery," where 20 or so artists were each offered one foot of wall space to exhibit their work. Definitely worth the $3 ticket charge.

PROS: Great location, cool pieces, frequently changes exhibitions
CONS:
