Safir Mediterranean Bistro

We recently tried Safire's Restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The decor is great and you can see into the kitchen and watch the cooking.

The menu is varied and specials make it hard to decide what to choose from.

The waitstaff gives good descriptions of the menu items and dont rush you if they percieve you want to dine in a leisurely fashion.

They start you off with humus and pita bread and onions before you order. Each lunch menu item comes with either soup or salad. The soup is Mediterranean with a dab of yogurt. If you've never tried Mediterranean type soup, you might be better off sticking with the salad which is very fresh, you won't find any old or wilting letuce. Each menu item is served with a good helping of basmatti rice w/saffron and grilled tomato, you can upgrade the rice for a buck and also if you want extra grilled veggies on the side. Atmosphere is a little subdued but very clean. Lunch prices range from 5.95 and up. They used to have filet mignon on the lunch menu but has been removed. It's a short lunch menu but again very good. For the price and amount of food you get, you can't go wrong.
