I think they gave me the wrong car back. It spent the weekend at Chilton Autobody. He had a world of problems. Sure, I don't maintain the thing and really just wanted to get rid of it and buy a new car, clean slate. But, I gave it a shot and learned that it was actually worthwhile to fix Mr. Saab. In fact, a weekend was a short amount of time considering the long list of repairs that I had done. Alas, he is fixed. He is a turbo again.

This is a great shop. The people were friendly, didn't talk to me like I'm stupid, were patient in explaining the repairs. I don't know anything about cars, so I can't really tell you how honest anyone is, but I never got the feeling that I was being taken advantage of. On the contrary, they advised me that certain repairs were just unnecessary and costly. The prices seemed on par with what I've paid in the past (a little bit cheaper.)

So, I'd say if you are like me and have some ridiculous foreign car, take it to a place that specializes in your type of ridiculous foreign car. I can't tell you how much frustration would have been saved if I avoided the regular mechanics. It feels much better to be confident that these people know what they're doing and I wont be left fixing the problems caused by people that don't know how to fix my car.

Every time I have a body or collision issue I see Chilton's. Their customer service is hands down the best I have experienced with a collision shop. The quality of work I have experienced is first class. It is always a great experience there. I would and will definitely use them again in the future. I have also and will continue to refer others to them.

My car was rear-ended, and I took it to Chilton since they deal directly with my insurance. They were very careless with my car and damaged it.

THE GOOD
1. They finished early
2. The process was simple
3. The repair looks good
4. When I complained about the damages, they were congenial

THE BAD
1. My car ended up with smudges and scratches in 4 different spots. It looked like they hit it with a tool and epoxy or something.
2. My driver side mirror housing was cracked and there were scuff marks next to it on the door.
3. They forgot to replace the plastic tow eye cover when they did the repair
4. They cracked my license plastic cover
5. They left a shop towel, masking tape and a pen in my car.
6. They were supposed to vacuum and wash it, but it was dirty
7. They broke my carabiner keychain!

I went over this with them, and they offered to fix it for me. But I did not want to leave my car in their care ever again- so I told my insurance I wanted to go to another shop.

THE UGLY
Then the adjuster said that Chilton's said they had a photo of the mirror showing the damage before they worked on the car, and so Chilton's would not pay for another shop to fix it. But if I would take it back to them they would repair it..!

I went over the car very carefully with Bob when I dropped it off (that's their protocol), and he noted everything wrong with the car in writing. But no photos were taken. There was no damage to the mirror. Bob used my car to drop me off at work. So sometime after he left with my car and before I got it a week later, a photo was taken. They had every chance to take it AFTER they damaged it.

So I had to create a new claim on my comprehensive to get the repairs done at another shop. I took my car to Pete's Auto Body in Belmont and he did a great job!

I took my car to this shop because it dealt directly with my insurance company and I had doubts going in there. They treated us like we were begging them to fix our car. Poor customer service and lack of respect for other people's cars. When we took our car there, the inside was very clean, when we got it back, it was filty inside, they broker my seat belt accessory and did not apologize or compensate us. They lost of an accessory piece that was originally on my car and we had to argue with them to make them take responsibility and buy that back for us. They said it didn't matter whether that piece was there or not. Everyone that works at that shop was disrespectful for other people's property, especially when it is the customers that are keeping them in business.
If your insurance company refers you to this shop, do not go there. you are better off elsewhere. I am going to also let my insurance company know what poor service they provided.

I took my car there for a dent in BMW 3.0i Z4 front bumper. The good, they dealt with my insurance, yeay. The bad, they said my car should be done w/in 3 days. Roberta who takes pictures of the car starts rubbing your car to see if its dirt or a scratch on the car. Needless to say, she probably added to the scratch. Every luxury car owner knows that you don't touch the paint or rub your car when there's dirt on it, duh. s The car was done in 2, but never got a call as to what the status was. So, I had to arrange to get off work a day earlier than expected. When I saw my car the grill of my Z4 was two-toned, the original was graphite the replaces one was painted silver. So, they appologized and will be keeping my car another day. The next day, saw my car again, got off work again... and instead of repainting my grill to original graphite, they were both now silver. The grill and bumper were the same color, not an original Z4 looking bumper, and the grill wasn't snapped in correctly, leaving a gap between the bumper and the grill. They appologized again and wanted to keep my car another day. I demanded to get this fixed ASAP because I don't have the time to deal with this when I have to work, and keep coming back to observe the shady worksmanship. Bob Pochini is the man I have been dealing with. He then said that he will order the grill in black and should be in the next day (Friday). Afterwards, I went to Peter Pan BMW and asked the real color of my Z4 grill. Of course it was graphite not black. Called Chilton and spoke to Bob and said that they've orderd the part and will be in the following Monday. Of course he didn't call me for the status of the ordering nor when it'll be in.
I don't recommend this place at all. If you want added drama in your life, rent a movie. This place is unprofessional and lack attention to detail!!!
