Very Happy with the Service !!

by Chris W.

About 18 months ago I purchased 4 Brand New Tires for my Lincoln Navigator at a Competitors Tire Store. I recently noticed my tire tread was wearing uneven and quick . The suspension system had also been making this awful creaking noise for the longest time which had been driving me nuts . After speaking with the owner ,Goldie and explaining the situation we decided to mount 2 new tires for now and realign the vehicle . The alignment was so out of whack that it took 1 1/2 hours to do the job but after receiving the car back I am more than happy as the noise is gone and the car drives as smooth as ever. I felt Goldie was very fair and the service was excellent.I would also recommend CCC to others and return as a customer myself. As a matter of fact I will be adding the other 2 tires very soon and just took my other car in for brakes and alignment . Thanks CCC!!!

Calabasas Car Care Center is aweful

by John G.

(Edit - Calabasas Car Care recently contacted me regarding this review and I can honestly say they tried their best to make amends and to make sure something like this would never happen again. They contacted Kevan and tried to figure out what went wrong and reimbursed me the cost of having my pump fixed. Class move by Calabasas Car Care. Of course I still went through all this hastle, so I won't change my initial review, but I figured it was fair to edit my comment with the updated information)

So I get my engine temperature gauge fixed at Calabasas Car Care for $500. Two weeks later, the temperature gauge starts malfunctioning, going up and down, engine light on and off. So I figured there was a malfunction in the gauge like before, and I'll take it in the next day, but on my way home from work that day, BANG, white smoke, and I pull over instantly. Ended up my radiator hose burst. I tow it back to Calabasas Car Care and they fix it for $170, with no mention of them POSSIBLY being at fault even though they JUST did engine work and nothing was wrong with it before. That's fine. Maybe I was in the wrong for driving it a few miles while the light was going on and off. So they check the engine to see if I damaged the engine from this, and they say 1) I ruined my head gasket and needed it fixed 2) might have cracked my core and very well could need that fixed, and 3) damaged my water pump. Quoted me $2,800 for everything. I say "Thanks for fixing my radiator hose, I'll pay for that, but I'm going to take it somewhere else to get a different opinion before I spend that much."

I take it to Kevan at Performance Plus in Canoga Park because they specialize in German cars (I have a Jetta). The first thing we notice is that there was still radiator fluid everywhere (nice cleanup job, Calabasas Car Care). He does a full check and finds that yes, my water pump was damaged, but that my head gasket and everything else was PERFECTLY fine. $1,170 for that, a couple of other small things, and a FULL TUNE UP. (water pump repair was only about $800).

So basically Kevan from Performance Plus saved me $2,000 in unneeded repairs, secured all of my future automobile needs for life, and Calabasas Car Care lost mine.

CCC

by audrey j.

I live in Calabasas and have taken two of my cars here the past couple of years. The last time I went, I took my old Buick. It needed a flat tire assessed for why it was losing air. After telling me there was a nail or screw in the tire that could be removed for $10, I felt this was a good place to come and get cars fixed. Boy, was I wrong!! Goldie asked why I don't bring my car in sooner and I explained I have mechanic in TO I usually go to. He insulted me and said, "Boy, you're not very smart." I laughed it off because I know I have the education not worth mentioning to someone so ignorant as he is. I'm sure my 1996 Buick Century had something to do with the statement he made and he was associating the car I was driving to the amount of money I make. Sorry! My defining moment in life is not the car I drive or the people I try to impress at the stoplight. It's the people I help in life as well as staying out of debt!! Thanks for helping me realize I will never go to CCC again and not recommend this shop either until you all change your attitude!Audrey S. Johnson

Take your business elsewhere!

by John J.

I had two cars in there lately. On the first one they told me I needed tires VERY BADLY because they were on the "wear line". I went into another tire store and they told me I had at least another 8000-10,000 miles based on my driving habits! On the second car, (Don't ask me why I went back!) I was given a price for work and before I gave them an OK I called several other repair shops and they were the highest by over $150 !! They also had the oil change place next store do my oil change, when I brought the car into their shop! I don't understand, they have two locations both along side the freeway, maybe they think that people that breakdown on the freeway HAVE to come to them! Nonsense!, I would not recommend Calabasas Car Car, or Agoura Car Care to ANYONE! They are flat out crooks and don't deserve to be in business!

Dishonest Repair Shop

by Anonymous

I had a flat tire (rear tire with 75% tread left on a Plymouth minivan). I immediately stopped on the side of the road and replaced it with my spare. I took the flat to the closest shop which was Calabasas Car Care. They looked at the tire for all of literally 3 seconds with a battery powered flashlight (I was never more that 3 feet away from the tire at any time), claimed the tire was damaged "beyond repair", and would not even re-inflate the tire to check for a leak. They wanted to sell me a brand new tire for $150.00. I said I would at least like to have it re-inflated and see where the leak was. The manager told me to "Get the He!! out of his shop". I then went to the Goodyear shop at 19401 Ventura Blvd. Tarzana, Ca. who closely inspected the entire tire, re-inflated the tire, found a bad valve stem, replaced the valve stem (free of charge by the way), and found the tire to be in perfectly good condition. They re-mounted the tire on my minivan and I drove away very happy. All this happened on May 16th and today is May 25th. I've put 425 miles on that tire in this one week and it is operating perfectly. I am 47 years old and been driving (and buying tires for 31 years. The disrespectful manager of Calabasas Care Care looked all of 28 years old and had the attitude that he knew it all.

Goldie takes care of you!

by Anonymous

Calabasas Car Care is one of the most trusted places to get your car fixed. I am always wary of being taken for a ride, but the boys at CCC will tell you exactly how much it will be and why. They will go through the itemized bill with you. Also, if you are in a bind, they get the work done quickly and efficiently. If you are a Pepperdine student, they will drive you to school while they change your oil! A little bit on the expensive side, but totally worth it!

PROS: Personal service, quick to get things done, nice people
CONS: Expensive
