These people care and understand. They have taken great care of my pets and have helped me through the passing of my beloved dog this year. They never make you feel guilty and simply understand. In comparison to other places they are reasonably priced as well. Affordable and high quality veterinary hospital Thank you Del Paso Vet Clinic for all your support and wonderful care.Highly recommended.

I Love Del Paso Veterinary Clinic and trust them with my 2 cats and one dog all the time. They aren't out to charge you an arm and a leg for service. They just do their job and do it well. Very reasonable prices. I think this hospital is most affordable and best pet hospital of Sacramento. Highly recommended.

Awful service. Doctor and nurces not profecional at all they don't say hello when you walk in and don't even tell you wen they are done with the service you whent in for. Very rough with my 5lb chihuahua. Had no patience. Cheap service. i took my small dog for his rabies and bordatella shots. i sat in the waiting room for more than 30 minutes and i was never asked why i was there untill i got up to ask. the nurse took my dog and said; you cant come in with the dog because there is no free rooms! she left but my sister went after her anyways and waited out side the door.she just walked in and came out not even 1min and she had finish, the nurse walked out and got mad because my sister was out there waiting, the nurse gave the dog to my sister and walked away, we din't know if we were done or we needed to wait so we sat in the waiting room , until we asked she said;he is done, with out looking at us. after we left my dog couldn't even walk he was shaking and crying for 3 days i call them to ask if it was normal and all the nurse said was..not that i know off! and said just bring him in if your concerned and hung up. REALLY BAD SERVICE!

I took my 4 year old Chihuahua to Del Paso Pet Hospital because He need to get teeth cleaned. They were able to see me the same day and to my surprise were able to do dental cleaning the same day. The exam fee was a reasonable $38.50.Best of all prices for getting a dental cleaning was only $232, which includes anesthesia.I am very happy with this vet, the staff and most importantly, their prices.Del Paso Veterinary Clinic is affordable and best pet hospital of sacramento.

Not Misdiagnosed "Re: Misdiagnosed my dog's cancer" Re review by Lynn on Mar 19, 2011 Patient first seen on 09/03/10. Needle aspirate- cytology. Cytology showed "Probable inflamed cystic and/or necrotic epithelial tumor of uncertainmalignant potential" Notified client- report faxed to client. "INCONCLUSIVE AS TO MALIGNANCY" 09/21/10- Surgery done- tumor was very large- bigger than your outstreched hand.We could not be aggressive and take a large amount of tissue because of the size of the tumor and its location. Tumor extended all the way to body wall. Guardrd to poor prognosis was given- follow up by oncologist was recommended and declined by client. 09/27/10- Biopsy report showed "Ductal Adenocarcinoma-locally aggressive with potential for local recurrence, regional tissue metastasis, and low potential for latestage internal dissemination."- notified client, faxed copy of lab report to client.Poor prognosis was given. Referral to oncologist was recommended again. 12/27/10 -tumor recurring, recommended oncologist consult- declined by client. Client was looking for some free trial for treatment. So in this case there was no misdiagnosis. Client was notified about the lab result and oncologist consultation was recommended . Thanks- Del Paso Veterinary Clinic

Do not take your pets to this vet for any serious medical conditions. Both Dr. Ball and Dr. Kahbra misdiagnosed my dog's cancer, even though they had the biopsy results showing "probable aggressive adenocarcinoma". They did surgery to remove the tumors and told me they were benign and not to worry and didn't recommend any further treatment. I trusted them and was happy (of course) that the tumors were benign. Less than 2 months later, the tumors grew back larger than before. I took her back and was then told I needed to see an oncologist as the tumors were probably malignant. It was at this time that I was shown the biopsy results which clearly stated "probable aggressive adenocarcinoma". Dr. Kahbra would only say that he thought that was "inconclusive". I had the biopsy results reviewed by 2 specialists and they both couldn't believe how badly my dog was misdiagnosed!!! Sadly, by that time my dog was so sick that I no longer had the option to have the tumors removed again or to try any other treatments and I lost my dog.

I recently 'acquired' a feral neighborhood cat and decided to have him neutered, get his shots, etc. I have done this in the past and it always cost me a fortune, expecially at Watt Avenue Pet Hospital, where I was charged $100.00 to have a male cat neutered. I found Del Paso by calling around, and took 'Scooter' there. What a difference! It was $47 to have this cat neutered, and then there were shots, tests for FIV, etc. The staff was terrific, friendly, helpful, and the next day, after Scooter's surgery & shots, one of the staff called to see how Scooter was doing. I would recommend this Vet Clinc highly; the prices are great; the staff is friend and helpful; and I will be going back there for future med appointments for my other two little 'boys'. Another great 'bonus' is when you enter the clinic, there is one door for the dogs, and a separate door/entrance for the cats. What a relief to find a good place close to home with more reasonable prices and a friendly helpful staff.

One of the best and affordable clinic of Sacramento. They explain you everything in detail and don't force for any procedure . I went there only one time for a major surgery for my dog and I like that place.I would recommend everyone to go there.

I've been going to the Foothill Farms Vet and wasn't all that satisfied. So, I wanted to find another vet to switch to. I'm so glad I did! Not only are the prices unbeatable. I can get 3 cat check-ups and a couple solutions(ear, flea, etc.) for what one exam costs at some vets. It's incredible. Dr. Haliday is so gentle with the cats and makes sure to accommodate each one based on their personalities. Whether their scared, happy, shy, etc. Not to mention all the staff are very nice as well. I will be going there for a long time to come.

I have been to 4 vets in the Sacramento area. One in Citrus Heights, on Sunrise near Antelope Blvd, one in Antelope, Watt and Elverta, honestly cannot remember the 3rd right now but I can say this is by FAR the best place and the most inexpensive place I've taken my dog for care. Validating others comments: Dr. Haliday's (female vet) bedside manner is much better than the man vet but I think he's uncomfortable with women. I have called and had them be somewhat unfriendly but they have always been friendly when I've been in their office. They charge much less than any other place I've been for animal care and the quality of care is excellent. I can stand poor customer service once in a while if my animal gets excellent affordable care. THIS PLACE ROCKS!

Del Paso Veterinary Clinic was one of the few places I found that would spay a feral cat. They are/were involved in a program for reduced fees for spaying/neutering!
I have spayed three feral cats in my neighborhood because irresponsible people abandoned them. Two were very gentle cats, easy to handle. The third was/is incredibly wild, very difficult to trap--other clinics wouldn't work with her. Del Paso Veterinary not only had her fixed but did not give me a head trip when this wild cat scratched the vet tech. The cat in question weighed about four pounds! I will be eternally greatful for the care that particular feral cat (BabyMomma) received. I have switched to this clinic for my dogs as well. I have only dealt with the female vet and she rocks! The support staff at the desk did not rock, but nobody's / nothing's perfect! Very highly recommended!

As a customer that was also there a couple of months back and remembers the incident, I have to comment that I did feel great sympathy for you having to get your pet put down and it must have been horrible to be told you could not take her home.

But I also felt great sympathy for the staff member who was bitten and who was extremely worried about the risk of contracting rabies as the cat was displaying symptoms (listlessness, aggressiveness, etc.) that might have indicated a possible infection.

I'm sure they explained to you that state law requires any animal be tested for rabies in this way if they bite someone and that they had no choice but to send your cat's body in for testing. Rabies is a truly horrible disease and I wouldn't wish even the fear of contracting it on anyone.

This place will not be getting a star rating from me!!! I took my 18 year old cat to this place to have him put to sleep. He was all of 5 or 6 lbs. He was a house cat, and for the last couple of weeks did nothing but sleep and eat very little, he didn't go outside. I wanted to be in the room when he was put to sleep so I was told that they would have to take him in back to put a catheter in his leg so that the medicine would go into his vein. After about 3 minutes, one of the staff opened the door and as if he was current on his rabies shots. I said no, he's 18 and a house cat and has not been out side for quite a while. Why? I asked. And was told well he just bit the girl that was trying to put in the catheter. I said, your telling me that two people couldn't hold down a 5-6 lb. cat?? And then I was informed that they would have to confiscate his body to give to animal control to do a test for rabies. I asked if I could have him back after so I could take him home to bury him, and was told very bluntly- No, they cut off his head and dissect his brain! I didn't need to hear that !!! No sympathy what so ever on there part! DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS TO THIS PLACE !

I had my cat spayed at the clinic, the staff made me feel welcome as a new customer and they helped with my paperwork. I spayed my cat at the clinic, it was really around what it costs to spay a cat, this can be hard to find. With the money i saved i got worm pills for her. There is also a grooming supply store adjacent to the clinic, though I didn't go in. Altogether super, also spaying your cat is super get it done.

As a former employee and current client of Del Paso, I can vouch for their high quality of care and service. They offer affordable treatment and walk clients step-by-step through a variety of care options. That said, you may need to bring along some patience for special events like late night shot clinics when staff may be overwhelmed by the volume of clients and unexpected emergency cases that may stumble in. Locally owned, small practices are increasingly rare in the veterinary field, offering more personal care and community perspective. This clinic gives back by supporting local arts, treating animals for the (sizable) homeless population, and working with a local rescue group, Happy Tails. I highly recommend this clinic!

This was the first time I was bringing my kitten to Del Paso Vet Clinic. My first impression was marred by a not so friendly person in the morning when I dropped my cat off. But when I called later in the afternoon the person on the phone was much warmer and handled my call with professionalism. My cat had to stay overnight and she seemed fine the next day when I picked her up. The woman who helped me, when I picked my cat up, was very accomodating and explained the next steps needed for my cat. It was a decent price to get her fixed and even though the neighborhood they are located isn't the greatest, they left a good impression on me.

Our family had 2 dogs that became sick. One of the dogs passed away within 24 hours, the 2nd Dog was very ill and needed care. It was a weekend and we were unable to find anyone to help us find out why he was sick. and/or what we could do in order to keep this one alive.

We were able to get into the Sacramento Veterinary Clinic on El Camino Avenue for the weekend and they transferred the care to Del Paso Vet Clinic. The Clinic is one of the Best clinics for Parvo Care. They were affordable enough to enable us to help keep our dog alive and very helpful in the total process. It is not however, the most decorated or nicest facility in town (who cares when you are there for the wellness of your pet!).... But, the true care for animals and the determination to help all that they can, is definately worth it!!!

I would like to add that if your dog has Parvo- There is a great holistic med PARVAID & Vitamins to go with the treatment. We used this in conjunction with the vet IV for liquids and anibiotics for 5 days and then continued witht the PARVAID AND VITAMIN for 2 days until the dog ate and is back to normal !

If you do not have the money to treat at the Vet, this is a great alternative and is said to be used on its own successfully!! This can be found at a local Pet Store. The only place that had it in stock was on Broadway in Sacramento.

As far as Veterinary care and vaccinations.... Del Paso Veterinary Clinic holds regular low-cost clinics as well as their ability to provide emergency care as well.

I took my dog to this vet to get her yearly shots. The vet gave her the shots that she needed. The serivice was rather poor. The staff was not friendly and I felt they hurried with the procedure and rushed me out the door without a smile or a thank you. I was new to that area and was trying to find a local vet that I was comfortable taking my dog. This was not one of them.

PROS: none
CONS: not friendly service

I was very impressed at how friendly the Vet and staff were. I was surprised at how soon they were able to see my Dog- Same day- when other places had at least a week long wait. On top of that very reasonable prices. My little dog had the ear infection and my regular vet give me the estimate of $400 but at Del Paso Pet Hospital it cost me only $150 and that include the exam, ear flushing and all medicines. By far, the best place i've ever taken my pets and they have a new client for life.Best Pet Hospital of sacramento. Highly recommended.

I am going there for my 2 cats and a dog since last 2 years. The most affordable and best veterinary clinic of Sacramento. Both Veterinarians are best- always gave me good advise. I was impressed with there affordability and high quality medicine. I would recommend everyone to go there.

Do not take your pets to this vet for any serious medical conditions. Both Dr. Ball and Dr. Kahbra misdiagnosed my dog's cancer, even though they had the biopsy results showing ""probable aggressive adenocarcinoma"". It was at this time that I was shown the biopsy results which clearly stated ""probable aggressive adenocarcinoma"". Dr. Kahbra would only say that he thought that was ""inconclusive"". I had the biopsy results reviewed by 2 specialists and they both couldn't believe how badly my dog was misdiagnosed!!! Sadly, by that time my dog was so sick that I no longer had the option to have the tumors removed again or to try any other treatments and I lost my dog.

I am not sure when specifically it happened, but some time within the past year Del Paso Vet Clinic changed owners. The new doctor, Dr. Kahbra, is wonderful. He seems to care very much about the animals. The spay/neuters he has done for my animals have been wonderful and I've never had even one issue after surgery. He is the type that shakes your hand every time he sees you. I am very happy with the change in ownership. Oh yes, they are also open till 8pm on Wednesdays which is great for me to be able to make appointments that do not conflict with my work schedule.

I took my 2 rabbits to Del Paso to be spayed & neutered because I called around and it was the cheapest. Unfortunately, they didn't have the best service. My rabbits' nails were not trimmed well, my girl's spaying incision should have been glued because it's better than stitches, they didn't care about her chewing on stitches or being uncomfortable in her very tight head cone, and my rabbits were not handled very gently or attentively, which my other vet is great at doing. I suggest spending the few extra dollars on better care for your pet(s).

I had used this clinic for a few years, and overall I was happy, until recently. I have an older dog that was tested for heartworm by Dr. Bell, and though she ""Kia"" has no symptoms was told she had it. I did the antibiotic treatment indicated, and the heartguard regimen from then on. I was told that the full treatment to eradicate the heart worms would likely end her, and since she was old that I should just look for any progressive symptoms. Since then each time I have attempted to refill the heartguard I was told that they needed to do more bloodtests, which of course is more money for them. This makes no sense at all, for (1) she is too old for a treatment that could end her, (2) she has no symptoms, (3) heartguard is preventive, and accordingly would not do her any arm if she did, or did not have the worms anymore. The fact that this clinic refuses to provide the heartguard without more money for tests is a clear indicator that this vet, like so many others, is all about the money, not treating animals appropriate for a fair value.

Awful Doctor. Very rough with my cat. Had no patience. Cheap service. Seemed out of date. Left me sitting in the room for 30 minutes after seeing my cat. Spent about 7 doing the exam.
