I was looking for an engagement ring for over a month and was getting pretty frustrated with the experience of shopping.Luckily I was pushed by my fiance' to give John Moyen a try.Her parents were customers of John for over 20 years.I must admit that the folks over at Moyen took their time to educate me about every aspect of diamond buying. We than selected a beautiful ring from designer Doron Isaak.Needless to say,my fiance' was elated when I presented her with the ring.Thank you John for making a stressful process so enjoyable.

I have been shopping at Moyen & Co. for many years. They have a great selection of unique, quality jewelry. The prices are great too! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn't buy jewelry anywhere else.

Avoid this jeweler! Three weeks ago I stopped in to get a ballpark estimate to make a child's ring in white gold with a pearl that I would supply. I was told that it would cost between $80 and $100. A week later I brought the pearl in and my daughter to order the ring. It was a sentimental pearl because it had been purchased by my daughter's now deceased grandfather abroad during an interesting time in his life. It measures 7.35 mm. I was told that the pearl was big and would thus need to be "low set." I agreed to wait the week they said it would take to make it and agreed to pay $120 for the ring considering that it needed to be low set. Nearly two weeks later and 2 days before my daughter's birthday I stopped by to pick up the ring. It was a very shotty looking thin band with the pearl plopped up on top, not even an attempt at a "low setting." It was also too small. Moreover, it had smudges of the glue used to set the pearl. I complained about the setting and the glue, and was told that they had to use glue and there was no way to set it any lower. I countered that there was no way to set it any higher and they should clean it up before the glue sets. The sales person was indignant and I asked for my pearl back. The owner stated that his jeweler has some emotional issues so he was off work and he had to send the ring downtown to have it made. The owner then said he could get a premade setting over night and have it ready for her birthday. However, the available settings all fell well over $300. So my only alternative at this late date, to have the ring by my daughter's birthday, was to pay basically three times my original budget. When I complained, I was told that that was simply "the cost of goods." There was no attempt to find a solution. All they could do was show me two catalogs of settings well out of our price range. The woman who had helped me before was insulting and it as just a bad experience, which my daughter was there to witness. I left with my glue-smudged pearl and no present for my daughter's birthday.
