I had been using a Vet Hospital in Port Hueneme for many years. I thought the care of my three dogs was good, but the prices charged were sky high, and I was always nickel and dimed to death. In the past month my poor English Lab was diagnosed with Pancreatitis, without proper care, my ten year old best friend would have died on his own or have to be put down, and things got so bad with him that was pretty much what my choices were limited to, or so they seemed.

I took my dog to my "ex" vet twice and there just didn't seem to be a relevant answer to my questions, it was about how much this was and that was. The other thing that I didn't care for is that one Dr. looked at my Lab, and another called me back to discuss plans of putting him in the hospital for two-maybe three days at the cost of $1400.00 and it could have been more!

We all become very emotional when it comes to our pet's, they are family. I didn't know what to do, I'm 56 years old and cried like a baby for three days. My luck changed when I was at my dentist appointment and my dentist suggest Oxnard Veterinary Hospital and HIGHLY suggested Jan Feingold.

This was the best move I have ever made. Dr. Feingold did a marvelous workup on my dog, he went all the way back to signs and symptoms from his puppyhood. Before I even walked in to my appointment, the wonderful staff had my old vet hospital fax over all of my dog's records. These people were not only friendly and caring, but really on top of everything.

I realize that some animal patients are just to far advanced with certain illnesses, and it is hard to say which one will make it through and which one won't. Just like humans, we never know. All I can say is that I struck gold when I found Oxnard Veterinary Hospital.

Personally I have had thirteen major abdominal surgeries, and surpassed colon cancer. There has been lots of doctors, hospitals, tests in my life. If I had been a dog, I would have hoped and prayed that there was a Dr. Feingold in my corner!

I have been going to this clinic since my dog was 8 weeks old and she is almost 2 now.I really appreciate the smaller more personable care and service from this vet and the staff. Dr. Jan seems incredibly intuitive when it comes to animals, he definiatly is more of an animal person than a people person and I just feel right going here. The staff is always very polite and down to earth and professional. Being that Dr. Jan has been licensed and certified in the Oxnard area since the early 80's also made me decide to seek animal care from him....pretty credible business and experience. The prices are also reasonable and I feel at home with his traditional wholesome business ways.

Our female labrador Star is 11-1/2 years old and has multiple health problems. Dr. Feingold has been caring for her all these years and has treated her like he would treat a family member, with skill, gentleness, and knowledge. During one emergency incident, we took Star to a vet near our home, but that office, which was touted on-line as being great, was terrible (didn't even help her problem and was far more expensive than Oxnard Veterinary Hospital - and wanted to run even more unnecessary tests). I immediately called Dr. Feingold (on a weekend) and he took the call, met us at his hospital, and gave Star the best and most effective care possible. I am thankful to Dr. Feingold for his personal service, especially since Star is timid around other people and animals. Jan even comes out to the waiting room to greet Star and to ease her nervousness. The staff are also kind, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I drive 35 miles to Oxnard because I truly believe Dr. Feingold is the best and has given us many extra years to enjoy with our "puppy." Thank you Oxnard Veterinary Hospital.

My parents continued taking our pets here for years for reasons I could never imagine. He is the worst. He doesn't seem to be caring or knowledgeable. When our dog first became ill he couldn't seem to figure out what was wrong, and he yelled and scolded us as if we had done something wrong or we didn't love our dog. Here we were spending thousands of dollars to help our poor little guy out and deal with him being sick and feingold was condescending and pompous.

His prices are not as high as some other places, but still add up. He basically is a jerk, although his staff seem friendly. At times how ever they have looked young. Maybe they aren't licensed techs?? In either case. Feingold is ok for basic office visits, but for serious pet health problems the best advice is RUN! We did to VMSG in Ventura. It's top notch.

Feingold killed my cat, who died horribly overnight, the day after he treated him. The necropsy showed he was negligent, causing the cat's death. I won't go into details because he would probably sue me, though I could have sued him and won. He never took responsibility or apologized (even though I'd also spent thousands there over the years) and of course didn't offer to refund a penny of the $600 I wasted there the day before. He is burned out, sloppy, condescending and money grubbing. The best day I had there was when he was out and had another vet fill in for him. You people who give glowing reviews to vets simply because they manage to be polite and not kill your pet, are doing no one a service, especially yourself. You don't know if you don't compare or until the worst happens. Don't wait until you have to end up writing a review like this to feel you are finally being responsible. I look to these reviews to help me find good vets, and what I see is not very helpful. I hope this is, and I'd give Feingold a zero if I could.

We are very pleased with the services we receive from Dr. Feingold and his staff. They are always courteous and friendly and very professional. They are knowledgeable and we would and have recommended them to others. We have taken our oldest pet Zoya to Dr. Feingold since we moved here in 2001 and our baby Breezy since she was 4 months old. We think the prices are reasonable and like that they have a vaccination clinic on Saturdays, as it saves the expense of a doctor visit charge.
