I have never been so disappointed in my life. My grandson J, selected PF Chang's to celebrate his 16th B-day March 5, 2011, with his girlfriend and a few of his schoolmates . We had a small party of 11. Our appointed waitress... who had to have been new, I'm saying new simply because the service we received and paid 18% grats for left us feeling as if we had done something wrong. .Gina the waitress approached us without a smile, eyebrows raised as if serving prisoners, "what can I get for you folks" while you are giving her the drink order she starts talking to another waitress, then says again, what are you having? As we are placing the drink order her body language and facial expression was not that of a person in her capacity. When ordering our dishes, we had to ask if there was a child's menu, no suggestions on popular dishes, what's best for large parties NOTHING ! Thank God my son in law finds humor in most UGLY situations. About mid way of this UGLY dining experience she "G" graced us with a partial smile !!! we succeeded in geting her to S M I L E.... Since the portions are small we ordered more food (we had 15 & 16 yr old young men). The second order of food arrived and before we could finish eating our meal.... HERE COMES "G" WITH THE ICE CREAM CAKE, CANDLES BURNED HALF WAY DOWN AND ALL ! Please keep in mind we are still eating, not one time did "G" ask if we were ready for the cake...all of a sudden we see a flaming pink box destination our table. At this point we all stopped and looked at each other as to say "aren't we still eating ?" Finally, my son asked her if we could finish eating first, then we will do the cake. THIS UNTRAINED, NO PUBLIC SERVICE MINDED PRISON GUARD TURNS AROUND AND BLOWS OUT THE CANDLES. PICKS UP THE CAKE AND STROLLS BACK IN THE RESTAURANT (dining in patio dining). We, my daughter and I kept quiet because we know we can be critical at times, and allowed her husband to handle the situation. Somehow, someway one of the two managers arrived and my daughter shared with her what we were experiencing with "G". The manager...younger woman, bright, beautiful smile, great people personality waited until we finished eating, came back asked if we were ready for the cake and even offered to sing one of her famous birthday songs for my grandson. The difference was night and day...apples and oranges!

We were able to use our own numeric candles instead of a flaming cake with wax dripping all over it. We noticed "G" has now put a SMILE on her prison mess hall face, she is now talking, she is evermore so attentive .............AND IT'S TOOOOO LATE ! What a horrible dining experience. I would never recommed this pf chang. We spent quite a bit of money on food and beverages and the service was unacceptable and it truly overshadowed my grandson's 16th birthday. Why would someone her age be given a large party? Why would someone who does not smile, or didn't smile with us work in a place where you are subjected to CULTURALLY DIVERSE patrons. This should have been videotaped for training purposes, titled "THIS IS WHAT YOU DON'T DO AT PF CHANG'S"

Lastly..."G" brought out hot plates for the ice cream cake!

    Winner winner chicken dinner!

I have never been more pleased with accommodations for my partner! Not only were the staff friendly but overall I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to my, family, my colleague's, and all fellow Vegetarians.

Not a bad place to go if you're not familiar with chinese family style eating. The menus are completely in english and the waiters all speak english so no worrying about not being able to order food. The lettuce wrap is the best thing to get here. The environment is very nice however not traditional chinese. When you get used to ordering and eating here and think you're ready for some really chinese food around LongBeach try Cerritoes, CA or even better Monterey Park, CA

    Message from P.F. Chang's

P.F. Chang’s is a restaurant concept that honors the 2,000-year-old Asian tradition of wok cooking and believes in making food from scratch every day in every restaurant. With a Farm to Wok food philosophy at its core, P.F. Chang’s chefs hand-roll dim sum, hand chop and slice all vegetables and meats, handcraft every sauce and wok-cook each recipe, every day in every restaurant using fresh ingredients.

With roots in Chinese cooking, the culinary landscape at P.F. Chang’s now stretches across Asia with diverse, culturally inspired recipes including hand-rolled sushi, Vietnamese-style soups and bowls, traditional Chinese dim sum, wok-fired chicken and beef entrees, and family style noodles and rice. All made from scratch every day.
