Based on an encounter I had with Bill Parsons, I would not recommend Parsons Realty to anyone. I have been looking for rental property for a while, and have been assisted by a very nice, ethical realtor. I happened to be looking at the Parsons Realty web site, and found a home in which I was interested. The home was listed as active, meaning there was no sale pending. My realtor was out of town so, using the e-mail function, I requested more information on the house. Later, I received a call from Bill Parsons. He admitted that an offer had already been accepted for the house, over a week before, but urged me to view the house anyway and make a back-up offer....in case, wink wink, the sale falls through. During my viewing, I found Bill Parsons to be an arrogant, egotistical, and very slimy salesman. He talked incessantly about how I could rent the house out on a lease-option, and make a lot of money when the renters couldn??t meet the terms. When he suggested that I consider making a back up offer, I told him that I would first consult with my realtor. When he found out I was working with someone, and realized that he would need to split the commission, Mr. Parsons whined about how I was wasting his time. He was no longer interested in the back-up offer. It s clear that Parsons continues to advertise properties as active when, in fact, a sale is pending. Further, they don t let you know when a property is a short sale. I find this approach misleading and unethical.
