Allergic to Peanuts? Avoid Hola Restaurant!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Warning: If you have an allergy to peanuts, beware of Hola Restaurant. Peanut butter is the "secret ingredient" in their red sauces and in their mole sauce. I have talked to them about the liability of keeping this highly dangerous allergen a "secret" but they don't seem to care.

If you have a peanut allergy and would like Hola to change its stupid dangerous policy, then please write a letter to the restaurant manager. Maybe if enough people complain, they'll get a clue.

Very family-friendly and nice setting  4 Star Rating - Very good

Hola is our staple Sunday night dinner option with the kids. It's big, noisy and very kid friendly - and the food and margaritas are pretty decent for the price. We really like the setting next to the redwood city nursery - looking out at all the plants and we appreciate the quick service. The waiters remember you which is nice. Also very conveniently located next to Lunardis so you can do quick grocery shopping for the week ahead.

I usually get the shrimp fajitas or ask them to do a shrimp burrito which they'll do. The Chicken Mole is also good.

Great Place!  5 Star Rating - World class

A coworker recommended this restaurant. It is located in the Carlmont Village shopping area. At first glance it doesn't look like much more than a small storefront restaurant. But when you enter you will be surprised to see that it is quite large with the back wall all windows. The chips are out of this world and the quacomole is really great! The margaritas are on the pricey side and more fruity than fortified, but since the glasses are huge that is probably not a bad thing. Our party of 3 enjoyed all of our food.

Great food!  5 Star Rating - World class

It is tucked in the back of a shopping center and from the outside looks tiny, but once you get in you are pleasantly surprised by the large dinning area and the view of the outdoor nursery. They have great decoration and the staff is friendly and quick. The margaritas are huge so do not order a strong one. They have a large selection of Mexican food and the prices are mid range 8-12 a plate. The chips and salsa is sooo tasty.

hidden gem!  5 Star Rating - World class

i never would have found this restaurant if it wasn't recommended to me by someone who lives in the area. it is hidden around the back of a shopping center. The front of the restaurant is unassuming. you wouldn't know that the small storefront is concealing a great little Mexican restaurant. The inside has a small bar and an unexpectedly large seating area. we sat near the back next to a window overlooking a very pretty nursery. We got margaritas which came in a schooner and tasted phenomenal. the chips were fresh and tasty and were complimented by a terrific, unique salsa. the guacamole appetizer is very, very good. i got a grilled chicken salad with a very good lime dressing. it was so good. holas is definitely the place to go for some Mexican food in Belmont

Good mexican on the peninsula  4 Star Rating - Very good

Hola has a great atmosphere and a park-like setting, that is deceptive given that it's located in a strip-mall. The food is very good as are the margaritas. Note that it gets really crowded on weekends, and the wait times can be over 30 minutes.

Great place for a work party/ladies' night out  4 Star Rating - Very good

The first time I came here, I was with a bunch of women I didn't know (parents meeting for my daughter's preschool) and it was very welcoming. I was early and saddled up to the bar and the service was fast, though it was fairly crowded for a weeknight. They have everything you could want here, 50 types of tequilas. It's quite loud, but in a festive, not annoying way. The menu is huge and everyone enjoyed it. I had cheese enchiladas and really liked them. I've also been here for my playgroup's ladies night out about a year ago and we liked it so much we've been back twice!
