This library is soo big, its located in a huge very old and beautiful building. Close to downtown and city hall. Plenty of parking in the back.

Huge childrens wing with a helpful and knowledgeable staff. During the summer months, the library has a weekly summer reading club. Every week the kids bring in their book log and they get a cool prize. One week they got free ice cream at ColdStones which is in walking distance. This was quite a treat since the ice cream at Cold Stones is quite pricey and very delicious!

PROS: Huge variety, great staff & copy services, even a coffee shack
CONS: Floors in the back of the bldg creak when you walk, loud & scary

This is a beautiful library and they have a wonderful children's section with age appropriate storytimes. You have to sign up for storytime because it's so popular and Pasadena residents get first dibbs. After that there's a waiting list. The staff is very friendly too.

This is a beautiful building. Designed from the same architect as the Rose Bowl. The library is difficult to use. I've been going there for years and I still struggle.

PROS: Great childrens section and great childrens programs
CONS: Other sections are difficult to use. Hard to navigate all 4 floors, which makes browsing next to impossible.

Pasadena Public Library is one of the 2 or 3 most beautiful public libraries I have ever been in. The building is very old but fantastically maintained- you do feel as though you are on the East Coast. I love how the building is sectioned off into little rooms that help with noise and traffic control. You can access wireless internet from your laptop throughout the library. The interior, complete with gorgeous wooden desks and nice lamps, make studying almost enjoyable. The collection is quite good for a public library, as is the magazine and newspaper collection. Parking is limited- look on the streets.

I really really love Pasadena's public library. They have a huge selection of books - pretty much anything you would want to find. Also, the building seems really old and is just downright cool. And to top things off, they have a free wireless server... what could be better? :) And plenty of parking, too!

This has got to be the coolest public library I have ever been in. Its an old building that is amazing. Park in the back of the building and walk in. Its not hard to join to get a library card and the Pasadena network is huge - I believe it even includes the Glendale library. Each library has a focus of genre, with the main Pasadena branch being central.

So turn off the TV and pick up a book.

They have a dated selection of technical and scientific books (nowhere near as good as a bookstore), but they have plenty of fiction. The reading rooms are pretty nice, but there are often a lot of teenagers there---which is to be expected---that are incapable of staying silent.
