I came because the margaritas had been highly recommended; I left disappointed.

Yes, the margaritas are strong, but not particularly flavorful. The chips are tough and boring. My fish tacos were very tasty, but the vegetables they came with were severely underdone. And the prices! Two fish tacos, with rice -- no beans! -- and vegetables, for over $14!

The service was disappointing, too. I ordered two margaritas; each time I asked for them with salt, but they came with no salt. I was still working on my appetizer when my entre was plunked down in front of me. The waiter never checked back at all; I practically had to trip him if I wanted anything.

The mariachis were good, though.

So the bottom line is, why bother? why not go to El Cholo, which is just blocks away, or Chevy's?

The margaritas are great and so is the guacamole (the large guacamole easily feeds 6 people as an appetizer). The ribeye stake with shrimp is delicious and the kids dishes are very well served. The ambiance for dinner is very nice and the food is served promptly. It's a great family restaurant.

Mijare's is a fun place for a company outing - it is festive, the margaritas are good, and there is plenty of space for a large party. The food is decent, too.

The margaritas are good, the buffet is ok. Great if you don't have a lot of time.

Mijares is so good. I always get one of their salads when I go there and they have the best chips and salsa in town.

Mijares has great Mexican food & margaritas. I especially like the dump burrito. The restaurant is loud and better suited for large parties or groups. Outside seating is nice on a warm evening. The music is pretty loud, but it's very authentic Mexican. We've done lots of birthday parties and celebrations there. Great place to eat and drink!
