HORRIBLE!!
In my 22 years of dental care in teh Bay Area I have never come across a more unprofessional office. Ofcourse someone who puts up with the low expectations and out right lieing to patients will not see any wrong with how this office is managed.

As a Sr. Business Manager for a large corporation, I am apalled at the way I was treated, lied to and hoodwinked into a HUGE bill that is not covered by Insurance!

They have refused to give me copies of my dental records, but lied about them being available (I have the phone record) to get me down there! Then they denied calling me!!

I just retired from working in Delta Dental of California I have been a patient with this office for 3 years and they have been excellent as far as diagnosing and treatments. The reason I joined the office is because they are highly respected providers of Delta. How you become a highly respected provider is when you have people like the people on this board complain and we would do a review and every time this office have been correct. Some of the people that have posted on this board are patients of delta and what they are saying in this board is not correct and is very rude and show how much they lack knowledge in the field of dentistry.

They take pride in diagnosing what ever they see. Some offices they just want to tell you what you want to hear!!! But not in this office they tell you as they see it. For this people on this board contact your insurance company so they could help you understand what they cover and don??t cover because it sound to me that as soon as you have to pay for proper treatment you guys get angry is not Doctors at Art Deco Dental??s fault when your insurance doesn??t cover or your co-pay with your insurance is high.

As far as having to wait to be seated, come on guys is not like they are not calling you because they are ignoring you they are doing there jobs in the back. Dentistry is mini-surgery like any surgery it could have complications that will throw time off. If it was you getting treatment done you wouldn??t want the doctor to leave the room until the complication is stabilized right???

If your new patient looking for office this is a very good office the owner trains other dentist how to diagnosis and due treatment and the doctors at this location are also trained by him. The reason I know that is because the owner is known in Delta and he has trained many doctors for Delta.

Enjoy life:) eat organic.

I had the same experience as the other reviewer. I was diagnosed as needing 4 crowns that another dentist found not to be needed. My wife also had a bad experience.

Art Deco Dental-I was new to the area and this is one of the dentists that took my hmo plan. I called them to schedule a cleaning and they gave me an appointment with Dr. Suzuki. Nice, small office. Cable tv on ceiling to watch as you wait in the dental chair. I brought my Xrays and waited for awhile until the dentist came in. He took a look at my teeth and dictated notes to his assistant. Then I was told to go back to the waiting room while the receptionist took the notes and came up with a treatment plan. She stated that I had many cavities and conditions on some teeth where almost root canal serious. The total price for treatment came to $750. This "treatment plan" included numerous scheduled appointments to take care of each tooth one or two at a time. I was Ok with this because I figured my insurance would cover most of it. She then informed me that the $750 was actually my out of pocket expense. I asked about my dental cleaning and was told that I would have to come back for my cleaning after all my dental work was completed. At that point, I believed everything. I thought maybe my teeth were in a horrible state, yet I had felt no pain. I went home depressed with the knowledge that I would have to spend so much money on my teeth. Then I began thinking, I take good care of my teeth and I don't eat sugary foods so I decided to look online to do research on this dentist. I discovered on yelp.com that two former patients had written about their experience with Art Deco Dental. Both reviews said that they were quoted lots of work from Art Deco but then when they sought a second opinion, the second opinion stated that they needed little to no work, saving them a considerable amount of money. With this information, I decided to seek a second opinion myself. A coworker referred me to Dr. Steven Hayes in Pleasant Hill. He doesn't have the state of the art ceiling tv or fancy murano lamps but guess what! He looked at my xrays and my teeth. and you know how many cavities he found? NONE. He said I obviously take good care of my teeth and was surprised that I was given a horrible diagnosis to begin with. Do you know how good it feels knowing that I don't have to pay $750!! I am so thankful to yelp.com and Jill R. whose review was up there to warn me about Art Deco.
