Little Hong Kong is a BIG on portions, variety and authenticity. Their Lunch specials and Combo dinners offers the typical Hong Kong style Chinese selections for a deal. Their seafood and authentic Chinese dishes are specialities. The dining room is a mix of a diverse dinners. Often busy, take out works well if you call in advance. Keep a take out menu in your call for a easy pick up.
Whenever I'm in the East bay I make an effort to go to Little Hong Kong at least once a week. Weekday lunch plates run about 4.00-4.50, which is an incredible deal given the amount of food you get. They've got a pretty big variety of options, and I've never had a dish that I didn't enjoy. Dinner is a little more expensive and a little more crowded, but the service is great any time of day.
We eat here often during our lunch break and it gets quite busy, you have to either order early or eat there later. If it gets pack they make you sit with other people and I dont like that. But they have reasonable prices on lunch specials and good food. Bad service though when they work under pressure.
I have been here many times, including hosting a banquet. They food is always great and the prices are reasonable. However, on almost every occasion, the service has been slow. On two visits, I was pretty sure they had forgotten about us and I had to get up and ask for help.
After more than 2 years away (they lost their lease), Little Hong Kong is back and better than before. The seafood dishes and specials are unfailingly great. Best chow fun around! Really good and interesting combinations of foods not found at other restaurants along with the more known dishes. Great for lunch or dinner and there is a small parking lot (although street parking is not a problem). Great staff!
Pros: Interesting dishes, Good portion size, Helpful service
