3 Stars: Good designs and maintenance (by Perry T.)

I have been a customer of Landsystems for more than five years. They have completed a number of design and installation projects, including raised planting beds, new garden designs, a driveway and gravel garden paths, a rose garden, and other tree and plant placements. Their designs are good, the after-installation maintenance is attentive. Typically they are slow to respond to requests to address particular issues because, I believe, they are busy with many clients.

4 Stars: Landscape (by Judy C.)

This is a quality full service landscaping service. I have used them for design, installation, and maintenance. Recently, the maintenance crew has not been as good as they have been in the past. .

5 Stars: YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET! (by Jason T.)

Landsystems has installed and upgraded all of the following for us over the last 25+years (since 1991):

- Designed our entire landscaping and irrigation system (original design with 2 large updates over time)

- Maintained our landscaping from day 1 - Revamped and retiled our pool after the first 20 years of installation

- Installed a concreted, tiled, deck complete with columns, antiqued railing, etc

- Installed and maintained our irrigation/drip-system for our entire landscape plan

- Installed our interlocking paver driveway, side parking spaces (previously underutilized/unused area), and sidewalks (in Hillsborough, you are not allowed to build sidewalks but they were smart enough to get around that code by using "stones"...interlocking pavers)

- Designed and installed our walkway from the driveway, etc

- Given us advice and guidance at every step and ever since we first used their services

We have worked with landsystems since 1991. Their designs are unique and proper for the space that they have to work with. They know local and exotic plants very well and they know how to use plants to achieve the goals the clients have set for their landscaping. They know which plants are good for short, medium, and tall applications and they mix and match these asthetic values perfectly. They were especially good for our property as it sits on a creekbed and is very wide, but not very deep. They took our plot of land, with all its handicaps, and designed our entire deck, pool, driveway, irrigation, drip-system, and landscaping to perfection. The Town of Hillsborough's Design/Planning committee, who are historically the hardest to please in the entire Bay Area, specifically recognized Landsystems choice of trees and plants as exceptional and above and beyond their expectations and recommendations.

4 Stars: Good experience (by Michelle A.)

We had Landsystems do an extensive hardscape/landscape project for us several years ago, and had a positive experience. We did have some drainage problems to start with - Palo Alto has some draconian requirements - but the foreman was excellent and he stuck with it until the problems were fixed. We were pleased that the foreman, not just the owner, had extensive plant knowledge. We have taken advantage of their yearly plant guarantee (free) and yearly checkup/recommendations for change. While implementing their recommendations is optional and not free, it has kept our landscaping looking fresh and allowed us to integrate changes that we desired. I felt that the landscaping advice was generally solid and we've been extremely pleased with the hardscape. I would use them again.
