No longer a Work of Art. Horrible. Ordered Corn Beef on Kaiser Roll. Kaiser Roll was soft like you buy in the Grocery Store not like you get in a Jewish Deli/Bakery. Potatoe Salad tasted like made with sour cream. Husband's breakfast

Art's deli, without a doubt, has the best pastrami and rye bread this side of the Atlantic. I eat there at least twice a week with my office mates. It beats the most popular deli's in NYC itself, the home of Kosher Deli's. The service is great. The selection of foods, sides, and bakery is fantastic. Their chopped liver is as good as mom made, and mom took great care and pride years back in making hers. The black and white cookies, just like back East, are delicious. With the parking structures across the street, the parking situation may be eased up. They do offer valet parking to alleviate the parking issue. Art's family has kept up Art's high standards without question.\n

My $12 burger, was as lifeless and the cow that contributed to it, albeit, involuntarily. You need more enthusiasm in your food, otherwise you can just get a frozen dinner at Ralphs. Place was a quarter full saturday afternoon.

Pros: Clean feel

I used to love going to Art's where the turkey and roast beef sandwiches were stacked to the ceiling.\r\n\r\nBut even though the sandwiches are still thick, there is something unclean about the place. Maybe it's the fact I didn't feel well for a day after eating there?\r\n\r\nGuys, you make food, clean up your act or your customers like me will all end up at Jerry's

Cons: Nasty smell and it ain't cheap

When you come to a deli you expect a few things, cheap food, quickly made and of decent quality. Art's Deli On Ventura is none of these things. The fruit is frozen, coffee is stale and burnt ($3/cup) even at 9 am, and the prices are as nauseating as there potato knish's. The restaurant was empty at 9 am, I can't imagine why. I came here for a meeting for a film and alls I got was a disgusting plate of eggs and potatoes.

Pros: nice ventura view except for the middle eastern building across the street misplaced on the strip.

Cons: Prices, pictures of sandwhiches on wall, disgusting food.

We just ate at Arts Deli over the weekend. A few friends asked us over. We all had something different, from breakfast to sandwiches to matzo balls. All was good and the servers have been there a long while.

Arts Deli is really good. The menu is what you would expect from an old school deli, lots of everything. I have to say the bakery items are amazing. We bought some black & white cookies. They are delicious.

Decent food, but reminds of playing 3 card monte: I'll play but I know I'll lose 'cause I'm stupid...20 bux for a triple decker sandwich made me wince just reading it. I did like all of the pictures of sandwiches on the walls. Maybe if they go out of business I can by one for nostalgic purposes...""remember when I had that sandwich with three slices of bread?!?!? Oh man, those were the days.""

Pros: Many booths, servers with experience. Pictures of meat on the walls

Cons: Inflated prices and no parking - and Jinro cocktails.

As far as delis in LA go, this one takes the cake. Or the pastrami. There is no other family-owned deli like this in town - well, certainly not in the Valley. One of the Ginsburg family members is always always on the premises. Places like this just don't exist anymore. It's on the pricy side - the one downfall.

If you're in the Studio City area, definitely stop in at Art's if you've got a craving for great deli food. If you're looking for a great pastrami sandwich, a bowl of split pea soup, or even just a nice piece of pie and ice cream, Art's is a good choice. Other delis in the area off some of the same menu items, but have very different atmospheres. Art's is comfortable, low key (can sometimes get busy), and the staff is always friendly and ready to serve you with a smile.

Growing up in NY, it's easy to tell the California delis from the real thing. This is the real thing. Classic deli items (like lox and bagels, roast beef on rye, chicken in a pot) are excellent, the fancier LA twists on deli (like the salads and the non-traditional deli stuff) are less good. Art is often around himself as his daughter and the waitstaff all feels like they are there to mother you...which can be a good thing.

Oh wow. I love Art's Deli! My boyfriend and his family have been going for over a decade and I discovered it about 5 years ago. They have the most delicious, hugest sandwiches you can ask for. The pastrami with swiss cheese on rye bread is my favorite of all time. Their turkey blt is too die for too. Their bacon is sooo good and it doesn't even have any fat on it. My boyfriend loves the monty cristo. Their chicken noodle and matzo ball soup are great. We never leave without buying 2 huge chocolate chip cookies. The only let down is the price but It it never stands in my way. Gotta run, going to Art's!!!

I LOVE this place, and feel lucky it's so close to my home. Great food! Friendly Service. Good people watching with studio folks and a few actors thrown in. I go often and am never disappointed.

Many deals are made at Art's Deli. Its a well patronized, well known Jewish Deli. Their service is good, tho you might have to wait for a table and is loud. The food is good and the portions generous. But like most Jewish Delis, it can get expensive quickly. The french fries are well worth it.

\n To type up a good review of this place. This place is horrible. Overpriced, understaffed, stuffy, slow, and to top it all off the food sucks and the portions are scant. Ask people who are walking out of this establishment, or people you know IN REAL LIFE that have been here if you want an ACCURATE review. I mean this place really should just be shut down.

Hands down the King of the Deli's in L.A. Been eating there for over 33 years. This is where I take my out of town guests to dine when they talk about the great deli's in there town. At Art's not only is every sandwich a work of Art. But, every customer is a member of the family. Great food, great service with a lot of love on the side. Parking is no longer a problem with the new 400+ car parking structure directly across the street from them.\n\n

I used to tell people that Art's was the last reasonably-priced Jewish deli around. Well - no more. I went there recently and the prices have gone up a lot. The food was disappointing as well ... not like it used to be.

Pros: Good neighborhood

Cons: Overpriced, Hard to find parking

Hard to reccomend this place when a sandwich and cup of soup set you back nearly 20 bucks! There are better deli options in the valley. Others have raved about the pastrami but it doesn't compare to other, more reasonably priced choices.

I have two words "Chicken Soup"!!!!! The best chicken soup anywhere. When I get sick, my boyfriend knows what I need - Art's SOUP. Take out a mason jar filled with steaming healing broth. Tell them to put the noodles, carrots and chicken on the sidein separate containers so you can get more of the magic broth. Matza balls are also available, get separate also. I swear after a couple of bowls of this stuff and you feel ten times better. Comfort food at its best!!

I moved back to my native San Diego some years ago and the only thing I truly miss is about L.A. is ART'S DELI. I wonder what it would take to get 'em to move down here? I don't mean that they should open another location either; I mean pack it all up, move it, and all the personnel, down to San Diego!\n\nI'll be waiting for my lox, eggs and onions...

Craving a big bowl of beety borscht with a boiled potato and a dollop of fresh sour cream? This is the place to go -- yes, even if you have to drive all out of your way. And even if you don't eat meat, this is a fantastic restaurant (and you'll have more room for the excellent desserts if you skip the corned beef). They never give you enough pickles, but they do have free mini-calendars for the taking, complete with a full-color photo of a sandwich and their brilliant tag line: ""Where every sandwich is a work of Art."" Of course it's better than Jerry's.

I ordered a hot postrami sandwhich here, and asked if it came with sour kraut. \n\n""No, just the pastrami,"" the waitress said, and I gave her a skeptical look. ""Trust me,"" she said, waving off my uncertainty.\n\nWell, that's exactly what I should have done. That sandwhich, consisting of nothing but meat and light rye, was the best pastrami sandwhich I've ever had. Fresh, flavorful and absolutely brilliant in its simplicity. \n\nThe place isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for.\n\n
