I've had mixed experiences here. I think it depends on the department and salespeople. Drum folks and pro audio have been best, guitar worst.

If I could put less than one star I would. They lied about shipment. They never called when they said they would. Even the sales manager handed the phone away and provided no help at all.Terrible terrible terrible customer service. NEVER buy anything from them. Why buy something from a store front if any place on the internet is quicker and has better customer service.

Pros: nothing

Cons: they lied about shipment to their store. Never called.

I guess if you want pro audio stuff this place is really good. But I just play guitar in a garage band and am always searching for my next favorite guitar. This store seemed kind of weak in the stuff I'm looking for (and had expected to find here).

The West LA Music center offers an expansive product inventory, however there are limitations to Guitar Center. First, make sure that the item you purchase is not something that has any software related to it, because you can't return it. In addition, make sure that the item you purchase can be returned at all. Remember, musicians are usually not wealthy, so we need to get what we pay for and what we pay for needs to have use. Use caution here. One good aspect is that they are not in fear of matching Guitar Center, so work that to your advantage.

PROS: Guitar Center Price Matching
CONS: Questionable Return Policy

When I first walked into this place I expected to enjoy myself, but it was more than that. I found my life's passion. I came along to watch my dad get outfitted with equipment. (ya know synth, MIDI devices, etc.) Wow, this place was just simply amazing. The staff was competent (something very unusual these days), and there was lots of display equipment where you can try it out. This place, I soon learned, is living history, where on any given day a legendary musician (like Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Brian McKnight, Candy Dulfer,...etc) can waltz in to pickup some gear. But not just musicians, the absolutlely famous and the soon-to-be stop by to pickup an instrument for a niece or nephew. Fair deals, lots of clearance sales, and the atmosphere is hard to beat. When I need more modules in my growing rack...I know where I'll look first.

Pros: The music..., The experience..., The fun.

Cons: Street parking tight

Quite a long time westside establishment, West LA Music is a large store with a variety of musical instruments and accessories that go with them. The staff is pretty laid-back as is the vibe of the store itself. Cool store in which to browse and take your time making a decision about what works best for you.
