Great selection of items, open on Sundays. The store personnel are extremely friendly and unfailingly helpful. Always. If you are looking for savings, this may not be the best place to go. However, if you want a big selection of items, plus friendly service and reliable advice, this is a great place.

I have been a rider for nearly 20yrs and have loved one shop and one shop only for all my tack , El Toro Tack & Feed i will tell you why- amazing service, knowledgeable and helpful. Quality items, family Based business, so they take time to know who you are and what you want. they have been my only source for my old man gelding for many years and would'nt have it any other way.

Cons: never enough money to get all i want

I'm an adult armature rider and have been a customer for over 10 years. The staff at El Toro Tack and Feed have NEVER been friendly or welcoming. For the most part they are competent and understand the sport which is why I have spent thousands of dollars there.

My last experience, and yes this is the very last time I make a purchase there, was unbelievable. I had ordered and paid in full for a pair of paddock boots. After weeks had gone by, I realized I had not received a call to let me know to pick up my boots. I called and one of the gals that works there took my call. She acted as if I had interrupted her and then asked when I ordered and sighed that she?d take a look at her orders. She came back on the phone and said yes? your boots are here and have been here for a couple weeks. I asked why they had not called me; she said ?we didn?t have your phone number. I said, I gave the person who took my credit card number down my phone number. She said?well it wasn?t written down. I said, after 10 years of being a customer ? you don?t have my phone number? She said ?I know who you are and we do not keep your number on file.? Could you perhaps have sent me a post card? She simply said ? they are here for you to pick up.

We all know the professional way for her to have handled the call was to apologize and offer to do better next time. Instead, she was mean and confrontational as if I owed her a thank you for taking my call. She was equally nasty when I picked up my boots and didn't even make eye contact or give me a smile. I said thank you and went on my way.

I was new to the sport and had been to several other places to look for items my trainer suggested i get but no one at the others stores even knew what i was talking about- but at El Toro Tack And Feed not only did they know what i needed but they knew which items my trainer perfered and the staff was not only extremely knowledgable but they were so funny and nice. THey also had Everything i Needed and more lol. The store is so big and beautiful it was hard to imagin it was an equestrian store. i went in knowing nothing but left with a better confidence in my self and my new found love for this sport.

first of all im not some one from the store. im a 13 year old girl that doesnt have a lot of money but needs a lot of stuff. The staff at El toro is mostly very nice molly can be a bi tch but all the rest are really nice. the store is very pretty. i do admit that they are a little pricey, but i get 10% off because of my trainer. there isnt a lot of parking, but there usualy isnt a lot of people there anyways. I like to go to the close out parties befor x-mas and other times where they actually throw a party and everything is really cheap. The food is pricy, but if you are already up there its not too bad. dont think of this of a bad place its actually pretty nice.

omg! Are you kidding me?! As a wholesaler, this was the worst store I have ever dealt with. I have never been treated in such a rude and disrespectful manner. Apparently, a family business (with problems). Guy, the owner/manager - or whatever was verbally abusive to me and hung-up on me twice. It's even hard for me to put into words the horrible experience I encountered at El Toro Tack and Feed. I would strongly suggest that you NOT shop there, unless you want to give your business to people who treat people like garbage.

.

WAY over priced! The same simple stuff...brushes, buckets, hoof dressing...can be purchased elsewhere for much less! (a bucket for 19.99 I found at a tack store in Norco for 6.99...rope halter was about 35.00- I found one at a tack store in San Juan for 19.00)
The staff seemed nice, but the snobs shopping there seem to be served first. Go dressed in the latest equine wear with your hair neat as a pin...even if you did just come from riding...and you will be treated right.
The place is gorgeous, but I'm sure that cost something...they need to pass it on to you! Just give me a decent price on what I need. I don't give a hang about the looks! It's like a boutique. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT PURCHASING FEED THERE! EXPENSIVE!!!!!
Advice for this store: just remeber, there are always other stores close by. And there's E Bay!

They sponsor many local shows and riding clubs, established scholarships for the equestrian community and sponsored a $35,000.00 Grand Prix at the Oaks. They are a famliy that has enjoyed the true affection of a loyal community. Many customers have been shopping there for over 18 years, some of their employees have been there over 15 years. They are dependable. If you want something out of the ordinary its a place you will find quality and selection. Like many businesses they have had good times and hard ones. They have always tried to provide a clean upscale environment for the Orange County equestrian and their friends.

This was my first time and I probably wont be back unless I had no choice.
Customer service and parking are way below par. If you actually find someone to go to the register, hopefully you get one that knows how to work the machine or knows where anything is...

Expected more and received alot less.
The employees have absolutely no clue what customer service is.
The bag of horse treats I got were old and stale and the reins had poor stitching (fell apart after a few uses).

I wouldn't expect a tack shop to look like this one, Its amazing it is so nice and has such beautiful things. Coming from Texas you dont get this kind of store. Kind of expected dirt and dust and cowboys, what a surprise. Just started riding english and the people there made me feel so comfortable, especially since I don't know very much about english riding. They recommended so many trainers and stables in the area Thanks El Toro

Thank you El toro for being the kind of Orange County store people expect high quality, great service and people who seem to care. After just buying two saddles for my daughters, you helped me find exactly what my trainer was wanting for my wife as well. We are customers for life!

Been a customer at this store for so long, they are the nicest people and cant imagine why the some people feel it is there right to harm a good family, that has given so much to the equestrian community at large. They wish the best for everyone and mean no harm to anyone or any other businesses in the area. Its too bad some people find this as a forum for manufacturing un-truths. They have been in Saddleback Valley for over 25 years contributing to the horse community and other organizations. In hard times and good times they have struggled as a family to make their business survive. How sad since they just posted an internet page that someone has found it necessary to disgrace thier hardwork.

HOLY COW is this place expensive. I am far from poor or cheap, but this place is insanely expensive. Ive bought saddles and equipment in Europe and they didnt cost so much! 2 people work there and cant get to everyone else. The pricing doesnt match the quality, the saddles and other leather tack were so dry, cracked and brittle, as though no one had oiled them.

This is my third and last visit to El Toro Tack and Feed. Not having a whole lot of time, I came there to purchase some feed and a gift; I expected to be in and out quickly. The place was not busy, rarely if ever it is. Looking around I found some clothing and a horse statue, then I went to the cashier to get some feed, it took the lady in the front 15mins to get off the phone to tell me I had to ask the guy working there to go get it. Fine, so after I found him and told him what I needed (8 or more bags), he told me they were out of all but one kind of what I was looking for, he took me to the back and showed me. As I walked back I saw a few bales of hay which were slightly wet and smelled (I knew this wasnt good), then he showed me the bag and opened it (I wasnt familiar with it), I looked closer and saw little worms crawling around in it. He told me it was already opened and they werent going to sell it. Then WHY did you show it to me?? I turned around and walked back to the front and saw the lady before was cleaning something on top of the clothing I was going to purchase. What in the world are they thinking? I asked for the manager and was told he was busy. I cant go back their knowing the feed is old and full of insects, and who knows what else the other stuff in the store has been through.
Its kinda strange too if you look below, the other comments seem like they are from the owner or store reps trying to make themselves look better. Too bad it didnt work, they just lost another customer.

I wouldnt go back if they were giving away tack and feed! Conversations on the phone are more important that handling the customers and answering questions. Lots of items were covered in dirt and dust. I know this a tack store, but come on give me a break its not at the stables. Clean it up!

This place might have a variety of item, but its a just a look. Besides having the most dirty looking people working there, they have only one of anything. If it doesnt fit, they still try to sell it to you. There only concern is money, rather than have you come back and become a repeat customer, they take as much as they can while your there.

I have been a regular customer of El Toro Tack and Feed since we moved our horses to the area 6 years ago. Not only do I find the merchandise offered to be high quality but the service is exceptional as well.

The owner is a well respected member of the equestrian community who knows the specific needs for individual issues you may have with your horse. He is also excellent at saddle fitting and I have attended clinics where he has helped people with difficult saddle/horse issues walk away with just the right saddle.

El Toro Tack and Feed is well known for their custom orders and their beautifully organized stock-merchandise.

They have always been able to find that 'unusual something' I come in looking for and answer any questions I might have.

I highly recommend El Toro Tack and Feed. The atmosphere and the service place it a cut above your ordinary tack store.

Having shopped in tack stores all my life I think I can safely say that El Toro Tack is one of the nicest stores of it's kind. I was looking for a saddle for our boney-backed mare who was not being ridden due to saddle sore issues from an ill fitting saddle. The help I recieved from the staff was outstanding. She is now a Happy Horse with a well-fitting saddle! Thanks !!

I have been a long time customer of El Toro Tack and Feed. I find all their employees to be extremely helpful and courteous. This store caters to both English and Western riders with something for everybody. If they don't have it, they will find it for you. When we purchased a saddle for my daughter's horse and found that it didn't fit right, they took it back with no questions and helped us find the saddle that worked for us and the horse. I usually buy my hay at this store as it is much higher quality than what I have delivered from another store in the area. I am a bird lover and always enjoy the Canaries, cockatiels and the Macaw that are residents of El Toro Tack! Go in and check them out!

My friend had gone to this Tack store called El Toro Tack and Feed. She found some riding boots for her daughter and recommended it when I asked where to go for my daughters boots. I thought this would be quick and easy, I was very wrong. The place has barely any parking, birds are all over the place yacking away (dont get close- they bite!), the prices were unreasonable, the one person helping looked like he was on something (he kept chewing on his lip till it got raw and kept starring at my 8 yr old daughter), he made snappy remarks, he couldnt find any thing, some of the clothing for sale was dirty, and had very little choices of anything. I will never go there again, I felt very uncomfortable. I ended up purchasing all of her equipment, show clothing, and extras at a local tack store at her stable.

This store is huge!! It has a great selection of all horse-related things, including saddles, helmets, grooming supplies, feed, and riding gear.

The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Their prices are a bit higher when compared with catalogues, but it's convenient to be able go and get what you need.
