I expected more from the food, but it was good. The sauces are deliciously rich and you will have to take a nap afterwards. I had the veal milanese, which was huge and really good, it was better than most places that I have tried that atl.

Over-priced with terrible service. No need to go here when good Italian restaurants like Baci and Sterling's Cucina are nearby.

My husband and I went to La Fontana because it is in the Entertainment Book, with a partial menu printed, and a value of $20 - if you buy one meal, you get another free up to a total of $20. Please note -this is the ONLY reason we went there. We ordered an appetizer for $9.95 because we were getting a meal free, anyway, or so we thought. It was stuffed artichokes - came highly recommended - and was just okay. It didn't have too much flavor - kind of bland.
For dinner we had stuffed chicken breast, which was also just okay and bland, and a seafood pasta that smelled and tasted VERY fishy. Nothing really stood out. We were seated promptly because we were the only ones there for a long time (although it was Friday night). However, the service was good.
BUT - our shock came when we presented our current Entertainment Card, which is good until November 1, 2007, and were told "we don't take that any more." We said - we paid for the book, and it is the only reason that we came here. Well, the waitress said, Corrado has a paper that he can show you that we don't take it any more. This, of course, was once the bill had come - NOT before we ordered anything. We told her that we had NEVER been in a restaurant that hadn't honored their commitment after being listed in the Entertainment book. She said, well, we don't.
We felt very, very ripped off for food that was mediocre to begin with. We are reporting them to the Entertainment Book officials, but there was nothing we could do but pay the bill and get out of there. How unpleasant a place. How shocking to not honor a card that we has PURCHASED and had never been refused in the almost 20 years that I've been using it. And it was not listed anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu that they were defrauding the public in this way - it's a surprise once you get your bill. BEWARE!

This restaurant has erased any memory I have of any other Italian restaurant! Oh the food in indredible!!! This is a family owned establishment that will NOT leave you disappointed. It's small, quaint and has great atmosphere. You are NEVER rushed not matter how busy they may be. They let you relax and enjoy your meal and have a great selection of wine. They even have gorgeous tasting after dinner Port that will knock your sox off! My father and law (a frequent customer) even challenges them sometimes and tells the waiter what he is "feeling like having" for dinner rather than looking at the menu. The servers actually have the chef completely make up a recipe that he is utterly impressed with. It wouldn't hurt to make reservations on the weekends, but for the most part you never have any problems with over crowding or it being too busy. Luckily it's still enough of a secret! I felt compelled to reveal my little Italian secret because they have always been so courteous, charming and the food is out of this world. They deserve the praise! What are you waiting for? Get over there! Unfortunately they are closed on Mondays though. Bummer!

This is easily my favorite restaurant in OC. The chef/owner, Corrado, used to head the kitchen at Tutto Mare for many years before opening his own place. It's a family type of place where they instantly make you feel like an old friend. The menu is full of favorites, along with a huge selction of specials nightly. Good wine list, and wine freindly food. Heavy on seafood (the risotto fruti de mare is spectaular) but I've also had a truly outstanding rack of lamb also. Don't be fooled by the location... YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS SPOT... IT WILL INSTANTLY BECOME ONE OF YOUR FAVS!

I have had many good meals, but none like this. I was impressed with the atmosphere upon entering, and was not let down by the food. I had the veal scallopini & it was so tasty. With so many other great choices on te menu, I will have to go back!
