Outback Steakhouse is an Australian steakhouse restaurant. Although beef and steak items make up a good portion of the menu, the concept offers a variety of chicken, ribs, seafood, and pasta dishes. Outback Steakhouse emphasizes consistently high-quality food and service, generous portions at moderate prices and a casual atmosphere suggestive of the Australian Outback. Australia is a place of adventure and wonder. Make a discovery of your own at Outback Steakhouse with our New Menu. It's bursting with innovative new choices, classic favorites and lower prices, including 15 meals under $15 starting at $9.95*. *At participating locations

In Short
Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.

The Inside Scoop

  1. What to Drink - If you're not a fan of Foster's, try another Australian beer: Newcastle Brown Ale.

I don't really care what anyone else has to say. You are all entitled to your own opinion. However, I will judge for myself. I won't know until I try it! Whatever the rating... It's for me to know and you to find out. Like many things in life. Fair-Dinkum Mate!

I attended this Outback Steakhouse at my bosses insistence - and expense, I'm glad.

The unusually expensive food is typically served cold (even upon requests for 'warming it up') and very stale. The unseasoned and overall unpalatable Fillet Mignon which my boss and I both ordered that night were delivered within 2 minutes of us ordering these dishes and they were - word for word - mere pieces of meat layed down on plates with some lettuce garnish displayed to the side. We were forced to manually request utensils, napkins, and beverages.

Half way through our meal both of us stared at each other, glanced down at our plates, and then slowly shook our heads back to each other - instant affirmation that neither of us cared to continue consuming such a galling meal. We payed, and tipped, kindly (after all it wasn't the waiters fault) and left to a more agreeable restaurant (The Kettle - read my review).

Because people I know are big fans of some of their tropical alcoholic drinks, I've been dragged to this joint more than once. It is always disappointing, even for a chain name. The steaks are mediocre and overpriced, even at half the price of an upscale restaurant. The atmosphere is overly public, but probably a reasonable choice if you have loud kids of your own.

Scott Easterday, the proprietor is one of a kind. I have never had such a welcoming experience. He remembers your name and actually takes the time to make sure you have what you need and if you are satisfied. He manages his staff the same way. They are all so kind and curteous. You actually feel like someone important when you are dining there. I highly recommend this location of Outback Steakhouse as my favorite family style restaurant. Regarding the wait. . . .is it no wonder with this kind of service!

Pros: Personalized Attention

Cons: Sometimes a lengthy wait
