We stayed in Dream just after Valentine's Day. Couldn't have been more lovely or romantic for the occasion. The room is very comfortable, stylish, quiet and private! We had a great time mingling with other guests, the owner Diane and Innkeeper Erin at wine and cheese. And being we had a huge lunch and decided to skip dinner, the spread was more than satisfying. We also had massages with Emily and Pat. They were both amazing! Pat really worked out some issues in my neck and the salt body scrub left my skin feeling like a baby. The jacuzzi and spa shower were both perfect and relaxing. Chocolate covered strawberries and champagne...does it get any better? We stayed in our room the rest of the evening and felt as if we were in our own little world. And breakfast in bed was a luxury in itself. Couldn't have been more perfect! Thank you Inn and Spa at Parkside for a very memorable V-Day! \r

Cons: That we couldn't stay longer!

Stayed here because I had to go to a work event in Sacramento. I was bit thrown off by it's location but when I arrived I was surprised by the quality and uniqueness of our rooms. We were given a beautiful room but unfortunately it had an issue with the bathroom and we were immediately upgraded to a larger suite. This is a perfect place for anyone wanting a quick getaway or a great spa weekend with the girls.

The Inn and Spa at Parkside is truly a hidden getaway in Downtown Sacarmento! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly faces eager to make our stay perfect. The owner Diane was an absolute sweetheart and so accommodating! We stayed in the Kiss room and it was so beautiful, comfortable and romantic. Best bed I ever slept in and the jacuzzi was awesome! We also had spa treatments and the massage therapists were amazing! I had a facial with Kristin and she was not only so sweet and easy to talk to, but gave me the best facial ever! Everything was just perfect. Mingling with the other guests and Diane at wine and cheese was so much fun and our breakfast was delicious! Plus they bring it to your room if you want...what's better than breakfast in bed?! I would highly reccommend the Inn and Spa at Parkside to travellers, locals and just for a spa day!

Inn at Parkside, oh, where to start? I absolutely love this place. The inn is located near both midtown and Old Sacramento giving you the opportunity to enjoy the downtown activities, shops, and restaurants. But the best part is that while you are at the inn you can go out, or just stay in. All of the rooms are amazing, I've peeked into all of them :) and the photos just don't do them justice. Every stay is different just like each of the rooms, since each one is decorated differently. Some show off the original character of the historic mansion while others boast a more modern flair. Some even have spa showers, jacuzzi tubs, and patios. Breakfast has been superb every time I have stayed, and I always look forward to wine and cheese hour. It's so much fun to enjoy a glass of wine while sitting in the living room or out on the patio. You can spend time alone with your companion or socialize with the owners, innkeepers, and other guests of the inn. Outside on the tiled patio you can enjoy the sounds of the waterfalls and fountains, lie around on the chaises, and at night take advantage of the huge gazebo-covered hot tub. Inside, the owners have a collection of DVDs and books for you to enjoy during your stay. Don't forget all of the extras available when you stay here. You can call the innkeepers and have champagne and the best chocolate-covered strawberries brought to your room. The Spa Bloom is also on the premises, so you can enjoy a wonderful massage or facial. The owners and innkeepers are wonderful. They do everything possible to make sure you enjoy your stay and make you want to visit again soon. I know I will be! One stay here and you will be hooked, just like me!

My wife & I spent 18 hours at the Inn & Spa at Parkside in Sacramento to celebrate our35th anniversary. We loved that the staff was attentive to every detail of our stay. Our room was beautiful and spacious enough that we had space to spread out our belongings. To our surprise, there were strawberries dipped in chocolate and sparkling wine waiting in the room. At 9pm after an early dinner we slipped down the hall from our room and had a late evening massage. Next morning, instead of my usual daily ritual of a bowl of rocks (Grape Nuts), we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and a walk through the adjacent park. This is a very good bed & breakfast that I recommend to everyone.

My wife and I just love to stay downtown when in Sacramento. We often make the drive up from the bay area to visit with her family and find the Inn at Parkside delightfully perfect for our hospitality needs!\r
\r
We have ordered dinner delivered from one of the numerous restaurants in the downtown area, or have taken a short taxi ride when we feel the need to go out. \r
\r
The beds are the most comfortable in town!!! Forget the Hyatt and Sheraton... the personable service and attention received from the owner and staff of the inn supersede any other hotel stay we've experienced in downtown Sac. \r
\r
My wife and I sincerely hope that business stays well for you so that we may continue to enjoy the special experiences you have so helped to orchestrate!!\r
\r
Many thanks to you!

The greatest perk to this place, is the spa treatment. The rooms were revamped with different themes. Very reasonable price, friendly enviorment, with great service. Don't forget to set your self up for the massages or facials. Very invigorating.

We stayed at the Inn at Parkside to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and we had such a wonderful time. Not only were both buildings beautiful on the outside, they were so tastefully decorated on the inside...put us in a relaxing mood instantly. We were greated graciously and were escorted to our room after getting a nice tour around the beautiful property. It is nestled among a cozy neighborhood full of trees that shower the property with beautiful purple flowers. The room was wonderful, the bed was super comfortable and the shower was a dream! The wine and cheese hour was a really nice touch before our dinner on the town. Breakfast the following morning was wonderful; a fresh-out-of-the-oven homemade muffin preceded fresh fruit and a homemade quiche. Our massages were fantastic...they really knew what they were doing and really listened to our requests/needs. I would definitely recommend The Inn at Parkside to anyone and my husband and I can't wait to go back. What a treat!!

My girlfriend and I and her girlfriend and partner spent a night recently at the Inn and Spa at Parkside for my girlfriend's friend's birthday. They were able to accommodate us by giving us rooms side by side in the front of the historic inn building. The rooms were fabulous, with interesting decor, and thoughtful amenities. Service was very good. We went out to dinner and played in old town Sacramento just minutes away from the inn. After returning to the inn we enjoyed sipping wine on the nicely landscaped patio in back of the inn. In the morning everyone reported sleeping well and then we enjoyed a great breakfast together. This is a great inn to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or some other social occasion or just a short staycation without traveling far from the Sacto area. I highly recommend it.

I had an unusually bad day when I pulled up to the Inn at Parkside. I was really grumpy, and had no idea what to expect. When I walked through the door I was greeted by the manager who had the biggest smile on her face. The place was well maintained and had a very cozy atmosphere. Already my mood was calming and I was beginning to relax. Lounge was the name of my room, and thats exactly what I did. Honestly, it was best bath I have ever taken (spaciaous enough for two & with jacuzzi jets!), and an enclosed shower, balcony, and huge flatscreen TV that all put me right into relaxation mode. I called the front desk to see about a massage. With no delay she set me up with an appointment. I have only had a few before, but this was just what the doctor ordered. I finished with my massage, feeling better than I had in a long time. Needless to say, I fell asleep in an much better mood. \r
\r
Waking up was hard to do in a bed like that, so I thought a nice hot shower was in order. But there was no hot water. I called down to the office, and they explained what had happen and wit in 5 minutes I had hot water again. Breakfast was served to my room with cheer and it was very good. I hope you get a chance to stay there. \r

Pros: quiet, and close

Cons: parking can be difficult.

My husband and I had to visit Sacramento for an unexpected business trip & were delighted to stumble upon the Inn at Parkside for our overnight stay instead of a boxy hotel. The new owner, Diane, was incredibly friendly and helpful as well as the rest of the staff. We felt like we were at home instead of away. It was only a 5 minute drive from where we had to work downtown and there were plenty of great restaurants within a mile. Breakfast was superb (the homemade e' claire from Chef Erin was to die for!) and filling enough to skip lunch. We opted for a last minute couples massage, since they were able to do a 9pm appointment for us, and they were the best we've ever had...even better than the ones we had in Thailand! We will definitely make it a point to get away to Sacramento again, simply for the pleasure of relaxing at this Inn. Who knew working out of town could be so enjoyable?

To fully appreciate my review, I need loads of space...but for now here is the short and sweet (bitter?) review of this Inn & Spa:\r
\r
Cons: \r
\r
1. Confusion at check-in with inexperienced staff\r
2. Plenty of on-site parking (3 uncovered spots) is a bit overstated, most parking is on a public street.\r
3. Staff used offensive language, like the f-word, during an in-room repair call\r
4. Fireplace burned out during romantic interlude and ruined the mood\r
5. Window lever was broken\r
6. Shower head was broken\r
7. Staff did not clean off appetizer platter after guest broke wine glass over it (and later a guest bit into some glass shards). \r
8. Loud noise outside at 10pm (bar patrons, birds, cars, freeway) made it a less than relaxing getaway\r
9. Early morning cleanup by staff (7:15am) in the hallway made ""sleeping in"" impossible\r
10. Jets were pointed up on our jacuzzi tub, which caused water to go everywhere\r
11. TV/DVD lacked an instructions page in room guide\r
12. Perimeter doors were found unlocked on a few occassions\r
13. Room temperature could not be controlled (no central heat/air), less we opened the window (but then we wrestled with the noise outside).\r
14. 9am breakfast trays were still piled up on the community kitchen counter at 12:20pm.\r
15. Plasma TV was ""pixelated"" due to a lack of HDTV programming.\r
16. After we changed rooms due to the jacuzzi fiasco, the management made us feel responsbile for them not aiming the jets down or warning us first with a simple sign.\r
\r
After all that they only offered a 20% refund just the lodging costs...the spa treatment ($240) was not included in the refund. \r
\r
Pros:\r
\r
1. Free breakfast was tasty and filling\r
2. Free wine & cheese hour was a nice touch\r
3. Upscale decor & linens\r
4. Excellent on-site massages\r
5. King-size bed was comfy\r
\r
Bottom line: Not recommended...and for the ridiculous prices, you're better off staying at the Sheraton Grand or Hyatt Regency.

I was at the Inn at Parkside in January for a few days to go to a concert and I was blown away by the comfortable, classy and tasteful room that we had. Electric fireplaces, luxurious linen's and comfy pillows made us want to stay longer. Reminded me of staying at the Four Seasons. Can't wait to visit again!\r

Took my ""special someone"" to the Inn at Parkside. This is the most money I have EVER spent on a place to stay. We stayed in The Kiss room and it was lovely. A big TV, tub for two, and beautiful linens. Luckily we did not use the bath salts or candle next to the bath (because a VERY small sign informed us that $30 would be charged to our room for use of these items-TRICKY!) Coffee and tea were available throughout the day but some home-baked cookies or juice would have been a nice touch. The wine and cheese at night were alright (but I do not drink alcohol so a non-alcoholic option would have been good). Frankly, from the pictures on their website I was expecting for there to perhaps to be some sushi and fruit as well (misleading). Also, they describe breakfast as being cooked by a gourmet chef, but you don't have to be a gourmet chef to cook a plain pancake which was served with fake syrup. Being served in bed was a nice touch though! While I was happy with the room, it was the other things which made me feel as if perhaps I paid a bit too much for this experience.

Definitely a great overnight getaway. The building is nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly. Some B & Bs that try to have a spa fall short....but not this place. The spa treatments were also top notch. We opted to have the morning breakfast served in our room. They even follow up with us on email offering free massages should we return. Overall: Great customer service, excellent food, comfortable and welcoming room, wonderful spa. We live in Sacramento and this is an excellent spot for an overnight getaway that keeps you close to home.

This was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. It was the little touches that made the stay. There were fresh cookies in our room everyday and after our massages the theripist mentioned that he was dehydrated. The next morning, when we had breakfast in bed, there was a bottle of water on his tray. The breakfasts were delicious and it was so nice to stay in bed. The 24 hour jacuzzi was not to be missed and we found it so relaxing to sit in the back after hours. For their wine and cheese hours, they have choosen good cheese and wine. Our in keepers were more than happy to do whatever it took to make our stay comfortable. I plan on staying here again in the near future and look forward to it.
