I recently ordered the cheese naan for the first time, and to be honest--I can't imagine ordering any other naan ever again. I'm craving it right now.

We live local and go here often. Food and vibe are both good. Pretty sure the place is owned by a couple of brothers-- the older one seems cool, the younger one isn't great. Just as well, I suppose, getting in isn't usually a problem.

Akbar is far from authentic Indian food. I see a lot of hash browns being used camouflaged in curry (try the malai kofta or papdi chat for that). Dinner at Akbar is a complete rip-off. The restaurant needs to add some more veggie dishes

Best Indian food I've found in the Mar Vista/Marina del Rey area. Added bonus: I never make a reservation, I typically go there on a whim, and I've never waited for a table. Try the Chicken Kati Rolls and the Chicken Tikka Masala. Although he can sometimes border on over-solicitous, the host/owner always makes you feel at home.
