One of the most popular place in Palo Alto to meet for a drink and then grab a bite to eat. We love the appetisers and the jambalaya. Also, they have really really good french fries!

New Orleans in Palo Alto - Nola's is a totally unexpected experience nestled on Ramona St. in Palo Alto. Cajun and Creole cuisine, great music, fun drinks, and party beads on the tables.

Hurricane Anyone?
by Ryan C.
If you like southern food and the best Hurricane (drink), Nolas is the place. Their open air seating makes the atmosphere great! The service is good and location great!

Nola's tends to draw a younger 20-30 something crowd, especially at the bar. They have a New Orleans style menu that is reasonably priced. I LOVE the skirt steak here - it is delicious. Everything is good, the appetizers, corn bread and they have a killer chocolate dessert.

This restaurant is a lot of fun and has some interesting food. When we went, they handed out mardi gras style bead necklaces. My friend ordered alligator, which was interesting. It gets very crowded on the weekends, so reservations are best. I highly recommend this for special occasions with groups.

First you encounter the happy go lucky bar scene. Grab a Bug Juice and look around you at the New Orleans type voodoo decorations. Then get your table and order up some spicy blackened fish or jambalaya. Save room for the bread pudding!

My favorite restaurant on/off University Drive. Nola is authentic enough to be called cajun while at the same time offering something for any picky California eater. The atmosphere is so much fun, with two levels of seating, the upper being like a traditional new orleans balcony.
Nola has accomodated me nicely for private dinners in special rooms as well. The mood says "party," the look says "we're not in california anymore" and the food says "I'm coming back here soon."
PROS: Atmosphere; food; decor; decent wine list
CONS: Can be long wait; plan ahead
