.

I rented a 10x12 for $169 per month since November 2008. Pouch Storage El Toro advertised 25% discount for the first four months. But I was never given the discount. I sent in a check for 75% of the monthly rent and they kept sending it back because it was not for the full amount. And because they never deposited my checks, they charged me $45 per month for late and lien fees.

The first few months, I had to go to the office every month and explained to them that they never gave me the discount. After some long discussions with several different people, they reversed the first few month's late charges. It was sure frustrating as hell having to explain to them they screwed up in the first place. Apparently, the people that collected the money are not the ones who could credit me. Some other 'people in the office' had to do that. Everytime I wound up paying the late fees first so I could access my storage space. They promised that the 'people in the office' would credit me.

Well, the 'people in the office' denied my late fees claim and every month I got this so called 'courtesy' phone call that I owe them money. Again, whatever checks I sent them got returned because they did not cover the late fees. You think that they could just deposit them and credit my account. Apparently, their accounting system cannot credit partial payments. Moreover, they threatened to auction my stuff if I don't pay. I got so frustrated with these people that I finally moved, after paying over $150 in late fees. I found the same size space nearby for $99 per month.

I would not have moved just because it was $70 cheaper per month. The way they handled my account from the very beginning really disappointed me and I don't recommend anyone to use this storage facility.

Oh, about the smell. The place is located next to a horse stable. So the smell of horse manure permeates the place.

Pros: None

Cons: Forced to pay late charges and the place smells
