The intro video where Dr. Susan says she allows you to go w/your pet including into sx was a huge bonus in looking for a dvm for my dog & as a possible employer! Clients seem like they would enjoy this doc's perspective from listening to her on the web-site for the practice. Bravo!
I do not recommend
Have tried 4 different time to get some ear drops for my dog renewed and they won't even return my calls. Staff is rude and vet seems to always be out to lunch. If they care about animals they have a funny way of showing it. I would never bring another one of my pets here. It is more expensive than most vets also
In my dealing with Watt Ave Pet Hospital, I have found the staff to be very professional and courteous. This would include the Doctors. They have gone out of their way to provide the type of service that I have needed, in a timely manner and within my budget. I have both had ear cropping and regular veterinarian services provided and have been satisfied with all services rendered.
It is true, that Dr Barrett is direct and to the point. What else would you want from your Vet? I guess if your rating of a Vet is based on how they kissed your ass and told you what you want to hear, rather than providing sound, professional services, then they may be lacking. I would rather my Vet be straight to the point and get the job done without sucking every cent out of my wallet. I have found that Watt Ave Pet Hospital fits within that category in my experience.
Dr Wills has also gone above and beyond what is required in my opinion. He has researched illnesses, called way past closing time to give me the proper information and shows a genuine caring for the animals that I have presented to him. All of this without additional charge (even when I offered).
I have had ear cropping done on one dog at this hospital and a total of three dogs in my lifetime. What some people do not understand is that PROPER ear cropping is almost as much a responsibility of the owner as the Vet. You have to be in constant vigilance to make sure the ear is training the proper way and have corrections done should you see any failure. On my Doberman that was cropped at Watt Ave Pet hospital, there were problems with the training of one ear, but over time it was corrected by myself and the staff and at no additional cost to me.
I usually don't write my opinions on anything but when I saw the negative feedback for Watt Ave Pet Hospital I had to say something in their defense.....Our family has had nothing but excellent experiences with Watt Ave Pet Hospital over the last 15 years. To be honest I don't remember ever meeting Dr. Susan Barrett, so I can not say anything in her regard but in regards to Dr. Grady Wills I have much to say: He has always been our pets doctor and he has always treated our babies (dogs and rats) with the utmost respect and kindness. He and the staff are very patient and loving with our pets, very knowledgeable in their explanation of treatments and recommendations, and when giving treatment we're always allowed, and even encouraged, to be present. So of course over the years that we have had them treat all of our pets, we can say with our own first hand experience that the treatment received by them has ALWAYS been the very best in care and in a very relaxed setting...never has there been "chaos" in their facility when we were there and never have we had to wait long to be seen by the doctor for our appt! They have always been very professional and kind in their treatment towards us and our pets. We have ALWAYS been happy with them and will not go anywhere else because we want THE BEST for our pets!! My husband and I highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for outstanding and loving care for their babies. To learn more about them go to http://wattavepet.com
I have had a horrible experience with this place. They put my dog on special food for allergies that I had to order thru them. In the past 6 months they have "forgot" to order it for me 3 times. Which forced me to take it upon myself to order online. Not to mention her skin would break out and I would have to then make an appt for Prednizone and allergy medicine. Wait time is also extremely long. Expect to wait at least 45 minutes after your app time. And not just once in a while for an emergency-Every Time. Today I tried to get my very sick dog in, and they couldn't see me. Overall, I am so upset at this place because my dog is part of my family. Called around and another Vet is seeing my dog 1st thing this morning. Called Watt Ave to have my dog's records faxed and they threw a fit saying that the new vet didn't need her records because the problem isn't "ongoing". Don't take your animals here!!!! They don't seem to care when it comes right down to it.
I am sooooo angry with this hospital and the staff, the doctor Barrett you only get one visit with her and after that to go over things with you is like pulling teeth as well as the cooperation with the no it all staff, I think the doctor is only around to get you to sign that contract for the work then you never see her in any instant and she leave the office up to her assistants to run her office which is Kaotic! My dogs ear surgery was all screwed up and they tried to blame it on me and my spouce, I wouldnt ever send any type of pet to them and I should have listen to my instincts. Bad Business!!!
