BUYERS BEWARE OF NORTHRIDGE TOYOTAS DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES AND FRAUD
Juan Lujan was my sales rep. Apparently he doesn't work there anymore. I can only guess why.
Everything seemed so good when I first went in. I purchased a new car for myself and referred my Mom to this place. When she went in things seemed to go well with her as well. Except they said that her credit wasn't good enough to get the car at the low payment she wanted. They asked if I would co-sign and I explained that I love my Mom but I have never co-signed for anyone and that's how I kept my A+ credit. They convinced me to "co-sign" because of course she's my Mom and I would do anything for my Moms...
Problem is that they lied straight to my and my Mom's faces. They said I was co-signing...but cone to find out, I was the MAIN signer on the account and my Mom was put as the co-signer.
I texted Juan and asked him to fix the "mistake" but after a month of trying to get a hold of the guy or any of his managers, he calls me and tells me it wasn't a "Mistake ". That that's what his managers coached him to say in order to make the sale. That they say it all the time to their customers in order to make sales. This is FRAUD at its finest. I called Toyota corporate and they took your complaint and said a manager from this location would call me in a few days. It's been more than a week now and no call.
I had four other people to refer for new cars... I won't be referring anyone now.. My Mom was getting this car to build her credit but her being the co-signer has no value to anyone's credit. And now it looks like I purchase 2 new cars on my credit which lowered my score
The worse part about this is that I know the car buying game because I've purchased so many cars before and have friends in finance and sales at other dealers...and it's so crazy to me that there's different prices for the same car for different customers...when we were sitting there, they knew I knew my stuff..and because of that they felt comfortable enough to joke about an Asian man and lady getting screwed on her deal.. $5000.00 more than what part paid for the car and how their sticking the extended warranty package at full price...DISGUSTING! DO these people not have families of their own? Do they want their Mom, sisters brothers or Dad's to get ripped off? How can you go home and sleep well after ripping people off.
If I could give this place a negative star I would. Who lies to their customers to get sales? I mean I know lots of people do but someone as big as Toyota? This is disgusting and unacceptable.
BUYERS BEWARE OF THEIR FRAUD
So I called corporate to see if they can do anything about the fraud that's taking place at this dealership. They said a Maria Serrano would call me soon.
A month later and still no call.
Finally after I try to contact her every day for a week she calls.
She tells me that since I signed the documents there's nothing they will do for me. So I told her that although her employees lied to me and told me I'd be the "co-signer" on my Mom's car that they're ok with that? She basically told me I'm screwed.
It is complete FRAUD what they're doing here...and they could care less that their employees are saying a person is going to be a "co-signer" when the end result is them being the main signer on the account.
So according to Maria Serrano and all of Northridge Toyota, they can sell you a dream and promise you everything....and you can put your trust in them them that they're not lying...but if you sign the paperwork you're screwed. To the FTC that's FRAUD and is illegal in the state of California.
Maria Serrano said that their meaning of "co-signer" is that the person "co-signing" will be the main signer and the other person will be the co-signer. Why would I need a co-signer if my credit is fine. She apologized that theu didn't explain it better but offered nothing to make things better..NOTHING!
BUYERS BEWARE OF NORTHRIDGE TOYOTAS DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES AND FRAUD.
I will NEVER go back there again after buying 3 cars from there nor will I ever refer anyone.
And if something isn't done quick about their fraud I will make sure it gets exposed on all the media outlets I can.
BUYER BEWARE OF THEIR FRAUD!

Earlier this year (2011) I received bids over the Internet for a new Toyota Camry from dealers in Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange Counties. The best deal, though, came from Northridge Toyota. (The highest bid was actually from our local Toyota dealer, where my brother-in-law told me he personally knew the Internet Sales Manager there and even promised his bid would be the lowest. Well excuse me, his bid was hundreds more than Northridge Toyota's.) Several other bids were fairly close to Northridge Toyota

Sales people are good. Friendly. And all the department with sales, financial nice people, even if they will try to get as much as possible money from you. Not the repair service. They try to charge you several times, for items, which not even exist in repair. Several times they tried to charge me for the items, which ??supposed to be changed?, when I told that all these items covered by warranty, they decided not to repair so called ??supposed to be changed? parts, because ??warrantee inspector will not approve it, i.e. it still WORKING PROPERLY! Now they found new ways to get money from the customers. As we know, Toyota is really good brand, it is still reliable and well established car manufacture. So they started to send letters with ??recall service?. Of course we will respond to it, especially if it will be critical conditions, even if the car is working perfectly fine!. After the recall service in Northridge Toyota, I found malfunction in the system they worked on, came back to the same dealership and asked them politely to fix the problem. Before that service was done at Northridge Toyota, the particular system worked and operated normally and I never had problems. Just regular maintenance, that was.... Technician, who probably worked on that car, came to check it. He tried to offer some other service to me, but after he and his partner found, that the service they tried to convinced me to do have already been performed, started to tell me, that it supposed to be like this, did not want to leave my car for inspection, even so they had at least 2 hours before the end of the work day of their service and all next day was also the work day for the service department in their dealership. Finally they schedule for the next week and did not do anything on the car. Is the sabotaging of there own company was the new way to say thank you to the company they worked for? Thank you

I called and asked when their less busy days were for service, and they told me Tue and Wed. I made an appt for one of those days for an oil change. For what should have taken about an hour tops took 3 hours! That was the last time I went. Then they kept sending me pleading letters and ads begging me to come back saying I'm overdue for my car's service. Uh no. I'm going somewhere else obviously. Several years later I called to ask how much a belt cost and the first thing the guy wanted to know was my last name. Huh? So if I didn't tell him the "right" name he'd charge me more? I asked him if giving him my name changed the price. He said he wanted to know what kind of car I had. (Well why didn't he ask me?) I told him the make and year and he hung up! Yeah, OK, then I hung up. Permanently.

Against all advice that servicing your car at a dealer is a rip off, I went ahead serviced my car there and was happy to find that I paid the same I had the last time I serviced it an an independent mechanic! They are knowledgable, organized, clean and efficient, I was given a ride home inthe shuttle and picked up later.

I hate buying cars! The obnoxious sales pitch and all that crap. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of my purchase at Northridge Toyota. I bought a Camry last weekend and it was smooth, easy and even pretty quick. I was out of there in less than 1.5 hours and got a good deal on the car and none of the usual hassle or hard sell B.S.
that comes with a new car purchase.

Congrats to them for making an unpleasant task pretty easy. I would have to recommend them to anyone looking for a Toyota.

I bought my new Toyota from them last week... They were AWESOME !! I had heard that they gave great deals on all "hard to find cars", like the Prius and the FJ CRUISER, so I gave them a shot ... They gave me a great price right from the start, and no hassle the whole way through !!! I loved dealing with them !! I went through the Internet Department, and was treated like a celebrity. I will send everyone there that I know. They are worth the drive !!! Way to go Northridge Toyota !!!

I went to a dealer to by 2007 Camry XLE and ended up paying too much for it compared to other dealers.

They also gave me low offer for my trade-in and then turned around and put it up for sale for $6500 more!

Overall: I??m very unhappy with the transaction and will never come back to them.

It is a hassle dealing with the floor manager. Rude and unrespectful to buyers. The financing department will not accept bank drafts from your own financing company (They will loose the commision from Toyota Financial). When you call about a problem, they will pass you from person to person. From 0 to 10 on satisfaction on the car deal, I'll give them a 1.

PROS: Nada
CONS: The people here does not have any idea about customer service.

The first thing I noticed walking into this dealership was that the salesperson quickly came out to greet me. This was actually a big plus since it shows more effort on his part. The sales rep was extremely friendly and not too talkative, but at the same time, very informative and helpful. Although they did not have what I was looking for at the time, he did not show any unpleasant reactions and just offered me his business card. I really appreciate dealers who aren't too pushy with their customers and this particular dealer fit that description.

The car buying experience is painful enough, isn't it? Luckily, the car I got here is a good one, and the process was not too painful. However, they keep calling, wanting to renegotiate. What's up with that? Service has been mixed. Overall, I would probably do business with them again

Yes.......for a dealership, that's like finding a gem. I landed a used 1998 Toyota 4-Runner with 27K miles on it for an unbelievable price. The car is like new and I was very happy with the assortment of choices I had.

PROS: Off major street; easy access
