I was a long time customer of Wigs Today, and was so taken back recently on November 19, 2007. Karen, the owner sold me two wigs on Saturday, November 17, after I called in and requested a Revlon ""Sophie"" Wig. When I called before going to the store, the owner Karen told me that she had the wigs in stock. I went in and observed that she was busy with at least 2 or three customers. Karen had the wigs on display, and I was not happy, because I like to purchase only new wigs still in the manufacturer's box. However, I accepted the wigs, and Karen stuffed the 2 wigs into one box, that was a different manufactured box. Immediately when I arrived home, it was too late to return to the store, as it was closed. I noticed that I had not only the wrong wig, one had a white cap sewed in the head of the wig as if it had been damaged. I observed that the tags were cut off; I now surmise that this is to fool customers into just accepting any wigs with the belief that customers don't really know the difference if the tabs are cut out!\r\n\r\nI find this ""bait and switch"" practice so offensive that I am going to small claims court, because I do not believe that my money will be refunded. I went to the store on Monday after getting off my high school teaching job at 4:09. I noticed the door was locked even though the store was opened. The clerk name Louise refused to let me speak to the owner, even though I requested and called 3 times. I was told that the owner said ""return to the store when on the following Saturday, when she would be there, and that was the only way I could exchange or get a refund"". \r\n My bank is in the process of refusing to pay the store, and I would advise never make a purchase there but go to the internet Site Wigs Outlet and get the same wigs for half the price. I will never make another purchase at Wigs today, and in fact, the best place to get wigs is at the ""Wig Outlet"" in Industry, for half the price that Wigs Today sell the wigs!

Cons: overpriced wigs with the manufacturer's tags cut off!

I am 22 and a cancer patient. I went here looking for wigs, as my hair is falling out. The RUDE salesperson told me that I was only allowed to look around and was only able to try on wigs if I was very, very serious about purchasing (wigs are $180+) and only if I really liked it. I then told her I was a cancer patient. She then told me that the wigs get ruined because cancer patients don't have any hair and it is hard to place the wigs on cancer patients. I walked out two minutes later. I called the manager 10 minutes later and asked about the store policy. The manager told me that people are welcomed to try on wigs. I was outraged and through my tears told the manager what had happened to me and how the saleswoman was so incredibly rude and insensitive even after knowing I was a cancer patient. In addition, I felt that the rude sales lady didn't think I could afford anything (I can) adding to the awful service. The manager told me they get young girls coming in trying on wigs for fun or to play with color and don't end up buying anything. She then apologized to me and offered to personally help me if I ever wanted to come back.\r\n\r\nThis store has a decent selection, but the emotional distress the salesperson inflicted on me absolutely makes ne not want to go back there. I know that there are people that try things on for fun, but wigs are designed for people without hair, to make them feel normal, regardless of how they lost their hair. It's bad enough when a person has cancer, but to blame a person when they're down, that's unacceptable. ITS ONLY MERCHANDISE! I felt humiliated after I left. \r\n\r\nFor a larger selecton, friendlier, understanding sales people got to WILSHIRE WIGS in North Hollywood. They were extremely helpful and expressed sympathy for me as well as other ladies that were suffering from hair loss. It's a little farther, but worth the drive.\r\n
