Longtime L.A. chef and restaurateur Larry Nicola's little Beverly Hills creation is cozy, hip and actually has some super food, whether for snacking or making a full meal. Couple that with the martini menu featuring 80 varieties and live jazz on weekends and selected weeknights, and you have a stylish way to relax in the lap of luxury. The restaurant's glass-ensconced vodka freezer is also the perfect place for friends to share a bottle of high-end vodka with some caviar.

Editorial by

In Short
Nevermind those celebrity roast infomercials that promise to bring back the good ol' days of the Rat Pack when smoking was cool and wearing a suit all day was considered casual. The spirit of Dean Martin lives on right here at this Beverly Hills joint where the martinis flow just as freely as the conversations. A small couch-lined area plays host to the nightly happy hour and the occasional jazz band, while an ascending walkway leads to a more formal dining room with semi-circular booths and tabletop seating. A play on classic steakhouse cuisine, restaurateur (and host with the most) Larry Nicola offers everything from meaty standards like miso-crusted prime ribeye with wasabi butter to lighter fare like grilled Scottish salmon dressed in figs and apples. Of course, no visit would be complete without a visit to the VodBox, an exhibition walk-in freezer where guests can put on a faux fur and raise a glass from one of the more than 80 varieties of vodka. Oh, and don't miss the Dean Martin shrine. Seriously. Told you his spirit lives on.

I took my wife and mother to Nic's on Saturday night. I can't begin to tell you how pleased we we're with our dining experience. I could write 10 pages of positive feedback; however I'll give you all three highlights. 1) Their gnocchi with morel mushrooms and champagne cream was the best sauce I've ever tasted. 2) The pan seared filet mignon with blueberries was better than any steak at any of my favorite steakhouses. 3) Our cocktails we're poured to perfection, my Manhattan was wonderful! They have a great cocktail hour special that I've already started recruiting my friends to attend. This may just be my new favorite place. Thanks Larry, Well be back soon!

Pros: Food, Drinks, Decor

Ratings_icons It's not all that

So the pomegranite martini was good, that's about all. Made a reservation and we were seated right next to the band and directly in front of the bar. Don't like the feeling of being the only one in the room eating while everyone is up at the bar drinking. Aside from that, I was quite dissapointed with my dish. I had the eggplant. I don't know if they don't use salt in their cooking but it was extremely bland. My hubby's filet with blueberry sauce was good. Very tender. I think this is a better place to have a drink and listen to a band.

Ratings_icons Great martini menu

burbankqt

The food was good...but definitely overpriced. I went there with one other person and spent $100...and that was on one drink each an entree each and dessert that we shared. The bar area on the other hand is VERY cool, and the martini menu is really awesome. I recommend going to hang out at the bar, or have dinner on the patio if you're willing to throw down some bucks.

Pros: Good drinks, Good food, Good crowd

Cons: Overpriced

Larry & Melissa and their crew are awesome, and the ambience is just as great! If you'd like to spend a comfortable, fun evening at a classy but not "stuffy" night spot in Beverly Hills, this is it! A warm atmosphere, friendly staff and clientle, and if you have the pleasure to meet Nic's owner, Larry Nicola, you'll know what I mean when I say "fun"! One of the kindest people you'll ever meet, and Lord knows Melissa and Larry are a great team. We always have a great time at Nic's! Thanks again Larry & Melissa!

Pros: Great Atmosphere, Friendly, Comfortable
